The Posttraumatic Growth of the Professional Firefighters

This diploma thesis is focusing on the posttraumatic growth in professional fire fighters. The theoretical part deals with models of the posttraumatic growth and factors which affect this process. Another constituent of the work is a treatise about psychological aspects of the fire fighter job execution. One section of the work, the empirical section, is based on the Czech version of a questionnaire method called "Posttraumatic Growth Inventory ". It is a questionnaire that discovers the level of achieved posttraumatic growth in 5 areas; personal strength, new possibilities, relating to others, appreciation of life and spiritual change. The research sample that consisted of 100 professional firemen verified the relationship between the posttraumatic growth and other aspects of respondents' lives. The research showed following discovery. The marital status, the fact if the respondent has a family, the time which passed since experiencing a difficult incident, the subjectively perceived intensity of an event, the level of distress, psychological well-being, behaviour of type A, cognitive resilience of an individual, strategy of bearing the burden of "negative view", "the concentration on a problem" and "the mineralization of threats" is not connected with the grade of obtained posttraumatic growth....
Possibilities and limits of online psychological counselling

The diploma thesis tries to do a critical evaluation of potential benefits and risks and limits of Internet psychological counseling. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the the issue of online help from general definition of counselling, through various approaches to definitions of Internet counselling. This part also deals with the history of the online form of help, including the context of development abroad and any differences or specifics in the Czech Republic. Attention is also given to various forms of online psychological help with emphasis on application in our environment. Finally the text introduces potential opportunities and risks of this form of counselling. Empirical part of the diploma thesis focuses on issues of online psychological counseling by a combined research design. The research part of the thesis tries to map the possibilities and limits of web psychological counselling from the perspective of the client. The focus of qualitative research is the analysis of interviews with online counseling clients, supplemented with analysis of chat conversations and case studies. Intercultural aspects of social support

The first part of the thesis is a theoretical compilation of surveillance assembled from professional sources, resources and research. In the theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of social support and its intercultural aspects. The focus is on the attitudes and prejudices, intercultural psychology, communication and barriers arising from it, as well as social support, its types, empathy and prosocial behavior. The second part of the thesis is the proposal of empirical research. It deals with the methodological process aimed at finding differences between access to social support and the provision and acceptance of Czechs and Slovaks.
Compliance techniques as type of conformity

This thesis deals with conformity and compliance, respectively compliance techniques. Thesis is composed as a theoretical paper and is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter I explain what is conformity, how it arises and what affects it. In the second chapter I deal with researches which relate to the conformity. I mention so-called classic study of conformity. I focused especially on new areas of researches of conformity. In the third part I deal with various compliance techniques. We distinguish four compliance technique in social psychology - foot-in-the-door technique, face-in-the-door technique, low-ball technique and that's-not-all technique. The final part consists of a research proposal that I focused on two of these techniques - foot-in-the-door and face-in-the-door technique.
Sociocultural aspects of co-operation and competition

The bachelor thesis is focused on the socio-cultural aspects that influence the cooperative or competitive behaviour. It deals with the question if the socio-cultural aspects such as culture, gender, family, school, influence people's preferrences to cooperate or, on the contrary, to compete. It presents not only the theoretical definitions of the above terms, but also the differences between cooperation and competition, the ways how to change the competitive behaviour to the cooperative behavior, but it also shows particular surveys, which dealt with socio-cultural aspects of cooperation and competition in the past. The last chapter gives a research suggestion dealing with different kinds of cooperative and competitive behaviour of employees in 12 European companies. The research sample consists of employees from the companies in the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden and Greece. The aim of this research would be to discover whether individual socio-cultural differences, specifically culture and gender, affect competitive or cooperative relationships in the company. It also mentions the art therapy and more. Peak is in the effect of dramatic arts and psychosomatic disciplines. The second part of the thesis is a proposal of empirical research. The focus is the human voice and it's potential link to a personal development.
Attribution, attributional styles and dimension of internality - externality in psychosomatic patients

The thesis deals with attribution, attributional styles and dimension of internality-externality in psychosomatic patients. The text is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The term psychosomatic disorder is defined in the theoretical part. The essential links between psychosomatic disorder, stress and cognitive processes are mentioned. Selected attribution theory and the concepts of attributional styles then make up the majority theory, the emphasis is placed on the dimension of internality-externality. In the empiric part, there are four hypotheses defined using two psychodiagnostic methods tested on a set of people with psychosomatic disorder and compared with the healthy population. Three of the hypotheses were confirmed, one of them only partly. Experiencing loss of child

The rigorous thesis "Experiencing loss of child" deals with the psychological aspects of adaptation to the loss of a child. Its main objective is to analyse the supporting factors that help the adaptation and factors that make the process of adaptation more difficult. Furthermore, we intended to find out how such loss influences individuals and their subsequent life and to describe the process of the loss of a child as such. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the issue of the loss of a close person and details the specifics of the loss of a child. Based on available literature the author explores the process of grieving and its manifestations and determines the variables that influence the adaptation to a child loss with a focus on the connection between the loss of a child and complicated grieving. She also evaluates the impact of the child loss on the individual and the potential for intervention in the process. The empirical part determines both the factors that help to cope with such loss and factors that make the adaptation more complicated. It also describes how the loss influences the life of the individual and focuses on the needs of the bereaved parents. Close relationships and satisfaction in marriage in people suffering from obesity

0 Abstrakt The diploma thesis deals with closeness of relationship and marital satisfaction among people suffering from obesity. The main research question is if the level of marital satisfaction depends on BMI (Body Mass Index). These issues are first discussed on theoretical level. Then we used the Locke - Wallace, RCI and SF - 36 questioneries in the research part. The results shows that there is no direct connection between BMI and marital satisfaction but we found some other factors that influence the marital satisfaction.
