Virtual world in education

The thesis deals with the development of computer and algorithmic thinking using virtual worlds, especially in the environment of the well-known computer game Minecraft. The aim of the thesis is to analyze virtual worlds as a way to develop algorithmic thinking in second grade primary school students, to map available solutions and to create a comprehensive set of practical tasks in a selected environment and then to conduct a research investigation verifying the selected solutions in the educational reality. The theoretical part of the thesis, in its introduction, focuses on the definition of terms directly related to the issue. Subsequently, the thesis analyses and maps the available tools suitable for the development of algorithmic thinking in the school environment. The main contribution of this thesis lies in the practically oriented part, which contains a collection of algorithmic problems created and tested in practice. This should serve as a theme for teachers in the subject of computer sciences. The tasks are in the form of methodological materials for block programming in a special version of the computer game Minecraft for schools and educational institutions. Foreign direct investment in the Czech Republic

The subject of this bachelor thesis is a definition of regional development and foreign direct investments. The practical part deals with an analysis of foreign investments in individual regions of the Czech Republic and monitors years 2010-2020. It also examines the impact on regions and the development of living standards. As an example of foreign direct investment in the Czech Republic is used a company BOSCH DIESEL, s.r.o.. Thesis focuses on one specific investment and examines its impact on the development of the Vysočina Region, more precisely of Jihlava District.

Algorithms and Programming Education with a focus on the programming language Python

The thesis researches the ability of use of Python programming language in the field of high school education and uses qualitative and quantitative methods of research and finds Python suitable. The thesis also brings theoretical analysis of the Python language, including practical exams in the form of sample programs. It researchs even other programming languages used in education and their suitability for this purpose and compares them with Python programming language. It also finds two most common used programming languages at high schools, which are Pascal / Object Pascal and Java.

Irena Fialová, CSc. ABSTRACT This thesis analysis possibilities and directions of the development of digital literacy by preschool children. It describes the ways of creation and the construction of children's information-technology competencies in preparation for the first grade of elementary school. The theoretical part defines some basic terms such as digital literacy, ICT literacy and others, it describes specifics of development of the child's preschool and shows the possibilities of using of digital technology in nursery school. The practical part of the thesis investigates how information technologies are incorporated into the education of children in nursery school; it investigates development of information-technology competencies of children of preschool age by work on computer and by interview of children and of their parents. On the basis of the discovered facts are showed ways for the development of the information-technological competencies of preschool children. Gender aspects of ICT education

The topic of my diploma thesis is the current situation of gender aspects of education in primary schools, mainly concerning information and communications technologies. The theoretical part deals with the basic issue, which caused and still causes gender stereotypes. The practical section analyses results of my survey that was dedicated to the present situation of gender sensitive education in subjects of ICT. The survey paid attention to the attitude of the male and female students as much as the view of the male and female teachers on the gender issues. Further, there is a gender analyse of two of the textbooks used for the second grade of primary education. In the final part, there are conclusions of my research with a few suggestions for teaching practices.

Computer Games in Educaton

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na charakterizování počítačových her, popř. her počítačem podporovaných, s poukázáním na možnost a vhodnost užití pro edukaci za předpokladu vhodného výběru a cíleného použití učitelem. Práce vychází z použité literatury, z vlastní zkušenosti a z rozhovorů a dotazníků tvořených s hráči. Těžištěm práce je hra SDF jako příklad didakticky využitelné hry. Pro tuto hru autor vytvořil několik programů a www rozhraní, které jsou rovněž v práci popsané. Samotné programy jsou práci přiložené na disku CD a dostupné na webové adrese http://kraken.pedf.cuni.cz/~balai2ap/. Cílem je na příkladu hry SDF poukázat na možnosti užití rozsáhlejší hry zaměřené na podporu výuky a na rozvoj žáků v různých předmětech a tématech.

The design and testing of teaching aids used to teach gastronomy in secondary vocational schools.

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou výuky předmětů se zaměřením na gastronomii s využitím ICT pomůcek na Středním odborném učilišti v Praze. Na základě dotazníkového šetření jsem zjišťovala stav vybavenosti vybrané školy, středního odborného učiliště, ICT pomůckami. Zjišťovala jsem, které pomůcky jsou na středním odborném učilišti k dispozici, které pedagogičtí pracovníci při výuce využívají a které postrádají. Na základě získaných informací jsem vybrala vhodný námět pro zpracování scénáře a vytvoření pomůcek. Připravené pomůcky, prezentace typu Power Point, jsou určeny všem učitelům předmětů zaměřených na gastronomii. Prezentace jsou dostupné na internetových stránkách školy, které byly navrženy formou rozcestníku. Měl by v konečné podobě sloužit jak pedagogickým pracovníkům, tak i žákům. Vytvořený rozcestník s vybranou prezentací jsem ověřila v praxi na Středním odborném učilišti v Praze.
