Support for gifted students at eight- or six-year grammar schools

My thesis deals with the education and support of gifted and exceptionally gifted pupils at Czech multi-year gymnasia. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the support of gifted pupils is carried out in multi-year gymnasia we selected and what kind of teaching methods does teachers use when working with these pupils. The thesis consists of two parts. The first part summarizes findings on the issue of gifted students with an emphasis on their characteristics, identification and education. The course of the research investigation is described in the second part of the thesis. The results of the analysis of annual reports and school education programs of selected schools are evaluated here, and the results of the questionnaire survey are also discussed in this section. In addition to the form of support for gifted students at multi-year gymnasia, the connection between the form of support for gifted students with age, length of experience and teachers approval was also investigated. The conclusions of the research indicate that there is still insufficient support for gifted pupils. The methods that were mentioned most often by schools and by teachers are not very suitable for developing talents and supporting gifted students. The ways of identification gifted student with dual exceptionality by the first degree of elementary school's teacher

This thesis deals with methods of identification of a gifted student with dual exceptionality by a teacher at the 1st grade of elementary school. The aim of the work is to find out what specific methods teachers use to identify students with dual exceptionality. Do they use available identification methods for educators, or do they have their own tested procedures for identifying this group of gifted students. The aim is also to find out how the cooperation between teachers and experts of the school counseling office takes place in the identification of twice exceptional pupils. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of basic concepts such as giftedness, dual exceptionality, identification, methods of identification, specific learning disorders. Giftedness can occur with different types of handicaps, this thesis focuses on the combination of giftedness with specific learning disabilities that appears most often in the schools (participating in the research). That is the reason why specific learning disabilities are described in the theoretical part. Further there are introduced the basic types of pedagogical identification methods and some types of psychological tests for identifying the mental abilities of the pupill. The use of fairy tales in the prevention of bullying in kindergartens

The aim of this thesis is to propose, implement and reflect a thematic unit based on a fairy tale and focused on bullying prevention in preschool age. The theoretical part defines the term bullying, its types and possibilities of prevention with the emphasis on preschool age. It further describes the importance of fairy tales in preschool education, their types and options on how to work with a story. The practical part proposes, implements and reflects a thematic unit focused on bullying prevention and development of empathy in preschool-aged children. It uses design-based research with semi-structured observation as the main research method using an observation sheet and discussions with children and teachers. Using of verbal assessment by primary school teachers after distance learning

The diploma thesis deals with the use of verbal assessment by primary school teachers before and after distance learning. It is primarily focused on finding out whether and how distance learning has influenced the use of verbal assessment by primary school teachers. The theoretical part of the thesis is concerned with an explanation of the basic terms of the topic, in particular: evaluation, school evaluation, school evaluation in the context of legal standards, verbal evaluation, materials for verbal evaluation, legislation of the verbal evaluation, distance learning, recommendations for distance learning and reference for assessment during distance learning. In the practical part, an analysis of three research studies, which were carried out using the methods of two consecutive questionnaire surveys, was implemented. One questionnaire survey was carried out in 2020 and the other in 2023. In addition, interview methods were used with teachers of the primary school first grade. The surveys were aimed at obtaining the necessary data to analyse the use of verbal assessment by first-grade teachers before and after distance learning. Use of experiential pedagogy to mediate visual impairment to intact children

The Bachelor thesis deals with the possibility of using experiential pedagogy programs to mediate visual impairment to intact children in the basic elementary school. The thesis describes the issue of visual impairment, its classification and functional impacts, and the system of education of individuals with visual impairment in the Czech Republic. The paper further focuses on a detailed definition of the term experiential pedagogy, defines the concept of inclusive education and seeks an answer to the question of why to introduce intact pupils to the issue of (visual) impairment. The research to this paper focused on monitoring how the perception of visual impairment by intact pupils at the elementary school changed after being exposed to an experiential pedagogy program, which focused on the issue of visual impairment. In order to achieve the research goal, a method of a qualitative interview was used for collecting the data and the open coding method was used in the subsequent analysis. Research monitored several partial areas of perception of visual impairment (the area of emotions, the area of knowledge and the area of having a hypothetical classmate with visual impairment). The diploma thesis covers about the use of developmental bibliotherapy in stressful situations of preschool and primary school age children. In first chapter thesis defined bibliotherapy, especially developmental bibliotherapy. In second chapter thesis directed characteristics of preschool and primary school age children, characterizes the most common stressful situations, with which children of this age can meet - divorce of their parents, illnesses and quarantine, bereavement or toleration of difference. The goal of this diploma thesis is making the stories and accompany them with proposals of bibliotherapy activities for working in stressfull situations of preschool and primary school age children.

The diploma thesis deals with the Nicola tesla Center learning system that develops exceptionally gifted children. The aim od the thesis is to find out to what extent the NTC learning system stimulates the development of a gifted pupil already in preschool age and the possibilities of supporting and exceptionally gifted pupil in primary education. The theoretical part of třhe work describes intelligence, talent and the NTC system itself. The empirical part consists of two stages. The first stage describes the process of education in kindergarten and work with the NTC learning system and identifies in the process of developing talents in children using the system. The methodology of the NTC learning system is used on the kindergarten in the creation of the school educational program and is practically used with the help of individual activities. NTC learning system activities are included in the daily program. The second stage describes how preschool education took place in the monitored children with focus on manifestations of giftedness, whether there were adjustments to preschool education with regard to giftedness.
