Nietzsche and Dostojevsky. Idea of superman
Hrybkova, Katsiaryna ; Novák, Aleš (advisor) ; Marek, Jakub (referee)
Present thesis aims at revealing both touching points and different points of departure in Nietzsche's and Dostoevsky's concept of superman by using so called philosophical- anthropological approach to the questions matter. It takes into account not only complete context of oeuvre of both authors but also wider cultural and historical context of their time. Basic point of departure of this thesis is expectation of crucial position of man in the oeuvre of Nietzsche and Dostoevsky as well, both understanding man as essentially defined as free to choice. Analysis of characteristics defining essence of man leads after to elaboration of idea of superman - conclusion of final judgement of human beings' essential characteristics and visions of future principle of man. Having closely analysed particular landmarks on the way from man to superman in the form of particular types of relations to each person's being and freedom - last man, upper man and superman (or common and exceptional man) - we are arriving to systematic comparison of motif of superman in the thinking of both authors, to associated concepts (negative and positive freedom, suppression of nihilism and so on) and finally to its general meaning. KEY WORDS F. Nietzsche, F. M. Dostoevsky, superman, freedom, nihilism, upper man, last man, will to...
Outdoor robot localization
Marek, Jakub ; Iša, Jiří (referee) ; Obdržálek, David (advisor)
The work describes the design and implementation of a framework for building control systems for mobile robots. It is a simple modular system simplifying creation of control systems and experiments with the modules. The framework contains also several tools for localization in outdoor environment.
The Indirect Prophet of Existence. Kierkegaard
Marek, Jakub ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (advisor) ; Petříček, Miroslav (referee) ; Ritter, Martin (referee)
This doctoral thesis aims at analyzing the decisive stage of Kierkegaard's authorship (between the years 1841 and 1846). The intention was to deliver a coherent interpretation of his "prophetical demand" of "becoming a Christian". Thus a new point of view was established on the grounds of a reconstruction of (his) "concrete reader", whom Kierkegaard presupposes, determines and, first of all, by the means of his "indirect communication", guides along the path towards Christianity.
Kinematic analysis of take-off in long jump
Marek, Jakub ; Krátký, Petr (advisor) ; Vindušková, Jitka (referee)
 Title: Kinematic analysis of take - off in long jump.  Purposes: Closely evaluation of angular, temporal and velocity characteristics of take-off leg during take-off in the long jump. Confrontation of characteristics by the separate jumpers and appoint technical determinants on basis of measurement.  Methods: 2D kinematics analysis.  Results: We evaluated take-off characteristics in long jump on basis of 2D kinematics analysis and found out relative stability of these characteristics during take-off in long jump.  Key words: track and field, athletics, long jump, take-off, kinematics analysis
Hamlets Dialectics or The Danish Philosophy of Existence
Marek, Jakub ; Benyovszky, Ladislav (advisor) ; Zika, Richard (referee)
The thesis aims at reconstructing the basic structure of the existence complexus in the works of S. Kierkegaard. The interpretative perspective is a phenomenological one, the main focus being the elementary experience of flux and stand-still. The problem of existence in Kierkegaard is compared with the Cartesian conception of the generic, un-individual existentia of the res cogitans, so that the priority of Kierkegaard's emphasis on the sigle individual could be substantiated.
The role of metaphoric representation in the relation of man to transcendence
Stehlíková, Hana ; Horský, Jan (advisor) ; Marek, Jakub (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of a relation of the human being to transcendence through the concept of metaphor and metaphorical representation. It begins with the comparison of two philosophical systems, namely the ones of Immanuel Kant and Friedrich Nietzsche, whose conceptions are in thesis connected through the question of the limits of human understanding and the relation between the process of thinking and language. The thesis deals with those questions from the point of view of the philosophical concept of the metaphor. This concept, its history and implications are the main topics for the last two chapters. The conclusion will offer two opposite positions, symbolism and idealism. We can find those positions retrospectively in the mentioned works of Kant and Nietzsche thanks to the theory of Jacques Derrida in the final part of the thesis, but we also come to the assumption that their opposition will remain undecided.
