Jan Pfeiffer 2023 Charles University, Faculty of Education DISSERTATION Black. (Selected cases of phenomena in visual arts, culture and their possibilities in education) MgA. Jan Pfeiffer 2023 Abstract The subject of this work is black, or the designation for color. But it is also an artistic concept and means of expression. The subject of my interest are selected cases of the black phenomenon in visual arts, culture, and their possibilities in education. I understand black as a phenomenon that I explore through my own creative work. In the course of it, I ask myself questions, such as: what stimuli, for example, black gives us and how it is connected with our socio-cultural background and its perception. I also ask contemporary artists working consciously or unconsciously with black, what black enables them in their work, and how it supports them, whether it is crucial for them. My intention is to open new perspectives on the subject of black and its connection with daily life, the ability to treat this phenomenon as a conscious gesture, an opinion - distinguishing different uses of black context. I also examine the possibilities of reasoning verified in...
The Phenomenon of Responsibility in the Postmodern Era
Jirgl, Sebastian ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor)
The dissertation The Phenomenon of Responsibility in the Postmodern Era discusses the phenomenon of responsibility in the context of the postmodern era. The issue of responsibility is viewed here primarily from a philosophical point of view. At the same time, the dissertation attempts a partial thematic overlap, in connection with the meaning of the selected concept of responsibility, within the ethics and particularly even other related social science disciplines. In the beginning, the basic problematics is set here. This discusses the etymological point of view and responsibility is subsequently given here in the connection of the context of terms such as freedom, response or ambiguity. Furthermore, the basic relationship is presented, in the context of the phenomenon of responsibility, and responsibility is also here confronted with the present. Subsequently, the approaches and theses of an important author of the 20th century, who systematically dealt with the phenomenon of responsibility, the French author Emmanuel Levinas, are particularly emphasized. The main thesis here can be characterized as an attempt to interpret and process the concept of responsibility, especially within the context of philosophical discourse. This is done mainly against the background of the thinking of Emmanuel...

Chataism
Novotná, Kateřina ; Hrabec, Tobiáš (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
The Chataism project solves the problems of today's modern cottages and tries to rediscover its beauty. The modular system of cottages is supposed to bring the possibility of creating one's own cottage according to interests and needs, and at the same time works with a minimum space in order to avoid the dimensions of family houses that belong to the urban structure. The size of the objects is limited in order to make the residents spend time mainly in nature and the cottage facilities serve to cover the basic needs of sleep and food. I also work with the minimum in public space, thereby preventing the occupation of the area around the cottages due to the neighbor's restrictions. Despite the fact that the cottage industry may appear to occupy the forest landscape, it is an integral part of our Czech culture and tradition. It is good not to forget this from the point of view of architecture and urbanism.

Philosophy and community
Timingeriu, Filip ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Blažková, Miloslava (referee)
Master's thesis "Philosophy and community" looks into the origin of ancient greek term "polis" and inception of its citizen. It looks into it as specifical means of being of world and human. The correlation of polis and citizen is most apparent in philosophy of Plato. With an emphasis on his privilegy of spoken word over written one, he shows possible sources of philosophical hermeneutics. By understanding the situation, which leads to the decline of the reciprocal relationship between human and world, author would like to express that in Platos way of thinking are still unreflected possibilities of solution for the present day. Intention of this work is to contribute - by sketching and explication of the principles of political thinking - to the discussion - and not only to that of the political philosophy and political science.
European nations in the Asterix series
Kozoňová, Zuzana ; Kepartová, Jana (advisor) ; Skopek, Robert (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to confront predominantly Celtic nations depicted in the comic series about Aste rix by René Goscinny and Albert Uderz with information derived from literary as well as archaeological sources and consequently to describe current stereotypes and political and social events appearing in the series. Since its origin, Asterix series has become a world phenomenon with readers across both the social and age spectrum. Numerous allusions to the recent past, which the authors decided to humorously comment on through their cartoon characters, can be found in the series. However, each of the stories takes place in the historical background of the times around the year 50 BC, and it seems interesting to observe to what extent Uderzo and Goscinny stick to the sources and when their fantasy takes over. Keywords: Asterix, René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo, phenomenon, Celtic nations, ancient times, the Gauls, the Belgae, the Picts, the present nations, international
