Social aspect of alternative punishment

The final thesis deals with the issues of alternative punishments, the development of penal policy during the last twenty years, the identification of social factors related to inflicting alternative punishments, and with findings regarding different views on the effectiveness of alternative sanctions as one of the main tools of our sanctions policy. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter provides a historical excursion in the punishment issues; the second chapter presents the basic theoretical concepts which form a base for current punishments. The following chapters deal with the criminal policy development in the Czech Republic taking the existing legal regulations into consideration, with the current forms of alternative punishments used in the Czech republic, with defining the term 'social aspect' and 'efficiency', as well as with assessing the positive and the negative aspects of using such punishments. The practical part of the thesis is dedicated to interpreting and evaluating the data gathered by interviewing different professionals working in this field.
Educational Work With Children Criminals

This thesis deals with the topic of education in relation to child offenders. The theoretical part describes the current state and structure of children's criminality in the Czech Republic, its possible causes, characteristics and measures that can be imposed on children under the age of fifteen. The thesis introduces institutions in which children are placed, and educational and therapeutic procedures that can work with these children to use. The practical part of this thesis contains four case studies of selected cases of child offenders.
Criminality of children and youth

The work deals with youth and children crime. It is concentrated on crime as a whole, it defines the most important terms related to the topic. It points out probable roots of that pathological phenomenon and looks for possible measures leading to its reduction. Considering the field of study, i. e. Pedagogy, a part of the work will be aimed at children's primary social environment, i.e. family and school. Attention will be paid to crime prevention and its categories. Finally, case studies will prove that family, school, education and training are the most important factors forming young people and influencing their behaviour.
Genocide in international law

1 Abstract Genocide belongs to the category of crimes under international law. Crime under international law means the act of a natural person acting in an official capacity or with the consent of the State and whose conduct violates important norms of mandatory law. A perpetrator committing the offence has the individual criminal responsibility which follows directly from international law. The term genocide was first used by Polish-Jewish lawyer Raphael Lemkin in 1944. Lemkin's idea of genocide as a crime against international law was widely accepted by the international community and was used as one of the bases of the Nuremberg process. Genocide has not been since the beginning of the traditional division of crimes under international law listed as a separate crime. The criminal act was regarded as a part of other crimes under international law, especially crimes against humanity. Genocide acquired autonomous status as a separate crime under international law only after the 2nd World War in 1948, when the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide was adopted. Leisure time activities as a prevention of social undesirable phenomenon

The work is focused on leisure time of youth and the risks associated with its use of poor quality. The first part deals with definitions, functions, environment that affect free time. Further notes on the developmental characteristics of adolescence, lifestyle and quality of life as the highest human value. Emphasis is placed on the importance of social prevention of youth risk behavior. The practical part describes leisure opportunities in a specific location - Prague 14 - Cerný Most.
Differences in spending leisure time of children living in the country and in the town

1 Summary: At present our society faces the fact that children have been losing interest in activities that do not generate an immediate result and their free time is spent primarily passive. Overall values in society have changed. To obtain the various resources, experiences, property, we prefer the easier way to the effort and perseverance. Therefore we cannot value our own personality and know ourselves. Probably that is why current society is called consumer. This study consists of two parts - the theoretical and the empirical part. The study deals with the relation between physiological and psychological development of children, influence of environment and the use of free time. It detects options and ability of pubescent children living in the city and in the country to use leisure time offer. It also examines how much the place of living influences the way of spending their free time. The main objective is to find differences in the use of free time due to specific life in the city and in the country. Development of representation of criminality in the Czech press

This diploma thesis "Development of representation of crime in the Czech print media" deals with the way of the representation of crime in the Czech press and its development from 1995 to 2010. It found out how much space is devoted to crime, compare the representation of domestic and foreign events, find out if they are among surveyed journals some differences. It also analyzes what crime is the most highly publicized, and focuses on the personality of the perpetrator and the victim of a gender perspective. The theoretical part treat of crime and deviant behavior and discusses their possible causes. It also deals with the central sociological issues, such as social norms, social control and socialization. Also based on the findings of science that deals with crime, criminology, refers to its concept of the classification of the crime and information about the investigation of the crime, take expectation to the issue of statistical data.
