Integrative Validation
Janečková, Klára ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Goldmann, Petr (referee)
The main focus of this thesis is Nicole Richard's Integrative Validation approach which has been developed specifically for patients suffering from dementia. The aim is, firstly, to give a comprehensive description of this approach which previously in the Czech Republic has been neither applied nor described in detail, and secondly, to look at its theoretical foundations and evaluate its practical implications for patient care. Integrative Validation is described as a non-pharmaceutical holistic approach to patients suffering from dementia with the principal aim of improving the lives of these patients and of dealing with the problematic behaviour of patients suffering from BPSD (Behavioral and psychological Symptoms of Dementia). The approach makes use of the so called interviews in Integrative Validation which are conducted between carers trained in Integrative Validation and patients suffering from dementia. These interviews are based on several basic principles: carers endeavour to understand the experience of patients, to mirror their emotions and, whenever possible, to come up with solutions. By contrast, carers should not attempt to bring disoriented patients back to reality, confront them with their disorientation, interpret their behaviour, take what they say literally nor distract them from their...

The Motivation of Graduates and Their Relationships to the Future
Částková, Ivana ; Pavelková, Isabella (advisor) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (referee)
This final paper focuses on high school senior's motivation and their future time perspective. I will attempt to describe the students' motivation in general, not only their educational motivation. I will endeavor to ascertain such things as if the students can already envision their future education and profession; and, if they are more ambitious about their career versus raising a family. This paper has two sections: the theoretic and the research. The theoretic component describes the adolescent and early adulthood periods of the students' lives. It also discusses most of the major changes in their life at this time. This section will also concentrate on the students' perception of time. I wrote about the historical perception of time and the theory of motivation, and analyzed how they are related to the behavior and motivation of juveniles. The emphasis is on the perception of psychological time and the subjectivity of time. I also relate the main concepts of life-span psychology. The theoretic part functions as the crucial building block for the research section. The research was done February to March of 2006 in Prague. I chose students from four high schools and students from university preparation courses from an individual preparatory institution as samples for my research. I used questionnaires as...
Possibility of Using Educational Diagnostics with Children who have been Suspended
Zábrodská, Eliška ; Kropáčková, Jana (advisor) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (referee)
The author of the paper used different methods of pedagogical research (the observation of children, the interview and the analyses) to discover the effectiveness of deferring the start of school attendance for one year, according to the success of individual children in a nursery school, but also with regards to their differences as a group. The research was conducted using a sample of 10 children, all with different reasons for their school attendance being deferred. It was proved, that children who had been deemed necessary by a psychologist found deferment of school attendance useful. The data obtained from this research can be used for individual education programs based on a child's particular problems. The beginning of school attendance is an important part of human life, therefore it is imperative that steps are taken to ensure that is as beneficial to the child as can be. Conceptualization of Reasons of School Bullying from Children's Perspective
Mládková, Šárka ; Bittnerová, Dana (advisor) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (referee)
The area of bullying has been quite well mapped, although it would appear that the research into this field has been done mainly in quantitative form. The aim of this thesis is to approach the issue from a different angle and to explore the students' point of view of the reasons for the occurence of bullying while using the qualitative form of research. For this purpose, individual interviews with sixteen seventh grade students from a basic school in Prague were conducted and subsequently analysed with the use of the open coding method. The results show that students themselves perceive bullying as a considerably individual concept. The students define bullying in terms of various negative events which are common among peers but in addition they discuss other conditions, such as recurrence, permanency and notably the feeling of being a victim, a key aspect in the definition of bullying and the use of the term itself. Various reasons for the occurence of bullying are presented in the interviews and can be divided into three categories based on whom the inception of bullying can be attributed to. As for the agressor, the explanations arise from a bad relationship with the victim, envy, revenge, satisfaction, a social status struggle or family and personal problems. The victim's reasons mentioned are...
