Diagnostic of Time Perspective in High School Students ́

This disertation thesis thematize the relationship to the future in high school students' and the diagnostic possibilities of this phenomena. We will describe the philosophical and primarily the psychological conception of time. The thesis focuses on the main theoretical concepts of time perspective, the cognitive-motivational theories and their relationship with achievement motivation. The empirical part has three goals: 1. The diagnostic of time perspective, 2. The description of students'relationship to the future, 3. The investigation of relationship between time perspective and achievement motivation. The analysis of the coding system of the Motivational Induction Method lead to improving this system. There was a battery of tests (quantitative and mixed methodology) used to diagnose the time perspective of students', namely Motivational Induction Method (Nuttin), Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (Zimbardo), Achievement Motivation Questionaire (Hrabal, Pavelková) and Motivational Sources of Learning Activities (Pavelková, Hrabal). The case studies that can show positives and/or negatives of used methods and individual ways of representing the future are presented in the end of the thesis. Play style as intentional model in video game players

The present doctoral thesis addresses the insufficient exploration of the concept of play style in current video game player's research. To reach the goal, theoretical framework of style as an intentional model of player's believes and desires is used. The main proposition of this particular paper is based on the presumption that play style works as a tool for predicting opponent's behavior. The research consists of two parts. The first one proposes a categorization which might in greater accuracy explain existing forms of play. The second part researches the topic of intentionality further through the procedural model of style prediction in progaming area, which is exemplified by the video game League of Legends. The results are based on extensive analysis of players' texts, interviews with semiprofessional players, commentators and game journalists. The conclusion implies a significant number of play styles and procedural complexity of recursive theory of mind ("I think about what you think that I think") in the field of video games. What makes a reasonable player: self-regulation, time perspective and habits in online gaming

The thesis concerns factors that affect the intensity of MMORPG playing and the gaming addiction symptoms. In the theoretical part, I discuss approaches to the excessive and problematic gaming. I argue for the shift of perspective from gaming addiction disorder toward self-regulation, time perspective, activity theory and habitual regulation. Two inventory-based studies were conducted in order to empirically verify the effect of proposed variables on MMORPG usage. First, the significant role of Time Perspective (TP), measured by Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI), has been confirmed. Second, the habitual regulation had been identified to significantly affect the usage. The habits related to usage were measured by the new psychometrical tool - Cues Sensitivity Scale (CSS). TP and habits influence the usage together - the effect of TP is partially mediated through Cues Sensitivity as well as through the players' deliberate regulation of playing time. All measured variables showed stability in time (measured after three years in subset of respondents). Data was analyzed with statistical methods, mainly with Partial-Least-Squares Path- Modelling (PLS-PM). The part of the data - respondents' strategies of playing time regulation - were analyzed qualitatively.

Theatre as a Window to the World of Mental Disability

The thesis provides a qualitative analysis of an autobiographical play based on journals written by a mentally challenged woman. The analysis is founded on authentic personal experience, the script of the play and a video recording of its performance. The empirical section is preceded by a theoretical introduction focused on mental disability in relation to theatre. The empirical section begins with the question: What can we learn about a mentally disabled person through theatre? The analytical process consists of three levels: a content analysis of the performance, an analysis of the author's perspective and the viewpoint of an implied spectator. The analysis shows that the story contains common autobiographical topics and the author barely reflects her disability. The creative perspective consists of the process of adapting the story into a play. Theatre also plays a therapeutic role and raises awareness. There is an imaginary window on the boundary between the stage and the audience, one that the author opens from within and the viewer from without. During the course of the play, the implied spectator becomes confronted with their prejudice and an accumulation of ambivalent feelings. This process ends in a catharsis and a genuine encounter with the actor's world and her spontaneity. KEY WORDS...

ANNOTATION: The bachelor thesis focuses on the relation between knowledge of Christianity (as a religion most relevant for Czech republic) and the depth of spiritual life. In the theoretical part, the relevance and knowledge of Christianity are examined, also the problem of the spiritual life, spirituality and religiosity from the psychological and theological point of view, and also their growth. The empirical part focuses on the constuction and statistical characteristics of the questionnaire of spiritual life and the test of knowledge of Christianity. Their results, collected data, hypotheses and research problem (relationship between spirituality and knowledge) are analyzed and interpretated. PhDr. Vladimír Chrz, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The bachelor thesis deals with the factors of social dances that have an impact on the development of couple relationships. Another theme is the discussion about possible use of ballroom dancing in couple therapy and counseling. Unstructured interview method with professional dance teachers was used to gain insight into effective factors of ballroom dancing. Interview with one married couple and record of participant observation of their dance lessons was also collected to increase validity. The theoretical framework of this thesis is participatory research paradigm and principles of qualitative approach in psychology. Interviews were analyzed by the method of triple encoding. Two models were then created. The first model shows the seven factors of ballroom dancing affecting the development of couple relationships. It is a dance teacher mediation, communication training, problem solving training, body resonance, shared activity, aesthetics and neutral environment. Blues from the Inside: Analysis of the Experience of Blues Musicians

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine, how the blues is experienced and percepted by people, who produce it. There are two kinds of research data: extensive and intensive. In the extensive part of the research a large group of musicians producing blues and blues listeners were questioned in a survey. In the following intensive phase of the research a part of respondents wrote a text on the topic: "What does the blues mean to me". Through qualitative approach, I analysed 16 texts with the goal to present the phenomenological description capturing the both variability and recurring patterns of how the examined musicians experience the blues. This phenomenological description ("blues from the inside") will be confronted with various theoretic conceptions. Central conception of this work is the framework of analytical psychology, especially unitary reality by E. Neumann and transcendence function by C. G. Jung. Culture as experience. Question of distantiation and desegregation

This thesis is devoted to the problem of exclusion that Roma population is subject of in Czech republic. This exclusion is studied through "helping professions" - professional intervening actors that help Roma to overcome the exclusion. Results used in this text come from two ethnographic research projects realized between 2008-2013. The text contains mixed approach, inductive ethnographic, stemming from my extensive research data and deductive or theory-driven. Methodologically the research belongs to the broad area of qualitative approach to social research, especially cognitive anthropological, psychoanalytical and that of individual psychology. First theoretical part, using mainly concepts of cognitive anthropology and distibutive theory of culture is focused on the theoretical question of the concept of culture and how it can be used for the "Roma culture" concept in relationship with the question of "majority". The second part consists mainly of a reinterpretation of the question of exclusion and Roma culture from the point of view of the concept of distantiation and expands it into Frantz Fanon inspired theory of confrontation. Autonomy and Repression in Life of Juvenile Delinquents

The topic of this bachelor thesis is existence of autonomy and repression in relations between young delinquent people and society. Thesis is inspired by the control balance theory, one of the sociological criminological concepts of causes of formation of delinquent behavior, defining autonomy as a control which is applied by an individual and repression as a control applied on this individual. The objective of this work is to show a possible insights of how young delinquents perceive and reflect autonomy and repression in their social environments e.g. school and family environment, also in repressive group of their peers. I'm also trying to verify, according to control balance theory, whether imbalanced ratio between autonomy and repression experienced by individual is the cause of commiting delicts. Based on analysis of my biogpraphic interviews with four underage patients of diagnostic institute I found patterns describing how delinquents reflect autonomy and repression. The results show that just a complex view on autonomy and repression in lives of delinquents is not sufficient to verify control balance theory, also the fact that the interpretaion of theory is valid only in common with other psychological theories.
