Global optimization of multiple variables functions

Master’s thesis deals with numerical finding the global minimum. A theoretical part of project presents a problem of global optimization, her basic division and shows basic examples the specific problems of global optimization. Further, the reader is familiar with the basics of some numerical methods and with description of their strengths and weaknesses. A practical part shows concrete algorithm of global optimization, its use on data of specified function. Data refer to the issue of radiative heat transfer.

Functions of Consciousness in Psychoanalysis and Analytical Psychology

Analysis of the most important functions of consciousness, considering its relations with unconsciousness in psychoanalysis and analytical psychology, is the goal of this thesis. The sources of the thesis are the tophographic and structural models of Sigmund Freud. These models enable analysing the functions of consciousness in the context of psyche structure from the psychoanalytical and psychodynamic point of view. Afterwards the thesis focuses on the extension and the functional autonomy of Ego within the structural subject theory known from authors like A. Freud, Hartmann, Brunner and others. These are the concepts of adaptation and Ego defensive functions especially. Carl Gustav Jung and his concept of the fully antonomous Ego is presented in the end of the theoretical part. The research project, that si being proposed in the very end of this thesis, deals with one of the Ego defense mechanisms - the repression. From the sensual experience to the transcendental one in the selected works by: A. Gide and J.M.G. Le Clézio

Jana Vrchovecká: From the sensual experience to the transcendental one The tradition of sensualism or vitalism is rarely represented in the French literature. During the twentieth century several authors tried to revive this tendency. The first apologist was André Gide, whose work Les Nourritures terrestres (1893) was considered as a doctrine of the sensual attitude, and for its spiritual overlap it was even called The New evangel. The deification of the material aspect of the reality becomes the link with the last holder of the Nobel Literature Prize: Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio. In his early essay: L'Extase matérielle (1968) he also exalts the sensual experience as the base of the transcendental one. The first part of the work compares the authors' sensual attitude in the mentioned works by the analyse of the particular senses. The synchronic participation of all them should provoke the second state of consciousness whose first grade is the ecstasy and the most desired one is the prophetic mind. The second part analyses the factors that contribute to this double objective. The necessary condition is the anchoring in the present moment. Defense Mechanisms in School-Age Children

This bachelor's thesis consists of scientific literature compilation and research design. At the beginning of the theoretical part, defense mechanisms are characterized together with their possible classifications. The next section describes various types of methods that are used for defense mechanism assessment. In the following, two methods for each of these types are mentioned in detail, together with research concerning their validity, if such exist. Besides that, more defense mechanism assessment methods, used for children, are mentioned. The next topics covered in this thesis are defense mechanism characteristics in school-age children and defense mechanism development. Results compiled from large body of research are mentioned in this section. In the final chapter a research design is presented. It concentrates on comparison of defense mechanism assessment using Fairy Tale Test and Defense Mechanism Manual.

Ani tady, ani tam

Ve své diplomové práci se snažím si objasnit, čemu se věnuji a proč. Měla jsem ohromné štěstí, že jsem mohla v životě začít znova. V jedné básni se podařilo zachytit, co jsem v této fázi cítila. Věděla jsem, že chci plně a do hloubky zkoumat to, co jsem studovala na DAMU. Potřebovala jsem se naučit, jak být v klidu a čekat. Uvědomila jsem si, že dech je zcela zásadně spjat s myslí a tělem a přišla jsem na to, jaké trápení může působit ego. Nemyslím tím ego v psychoanalytickém pojetí. Mám na mysli, jak je důležité se oprostit od kritiky, ať už pozitivní nebo negativní, druhých či mé vlastní. Bez tohoto kroku nelze kultivovat vlastní projev. Při psaní jsem vycházela ze sebe a skrze proces psaní jsem byla otevřenější vůči všemu, co jsem se učila na seminářích každý den.
Tajemství tkví v tom, nestarat se o to, jestli jsem dobrá nebo ne. Není důležité být dobrá. Ale být sama sebou. Jak řekl jeden pedagog, „Je to těžké a velmi jednoduché.“ Nakonec jsem dospěla do bodu, kdy jsem o sobě napsala dost. Nyní je čas přemístit ohnisko pozornosti směrem do světa, k divákům.

The Body of the Other: The Phenomenology of Intersubjectivity

In my diploma thesis I deal with the topic of experience of another person from the phenomenological philosophical point of view. The two major motives of my diploma thesis are: the revelation of the shift in thinking of Edmund Husserl in the phenomenology of intersubjectivity and showing that Merleau-Ponty went way beyond Husserls thinking. In the first chapter I clarify what Husserls term 'empathy' meant in his Cartesian Meditations and how this conception follows the theory of Theodor Lipps. Then I explaine Husserls thinking of intersubjectivity from the book Ideas Pertaining to a Pure Phenomenology and to a Phenomenological Philosophy - Second Book. In the third chapter I describe the phenomenology of intersubjectivity in the work of Merleau-Ponty. The fourth chapter is an interpretation and subsequent comparison of both authors. My main aim is to show that Merleau-Pontys comprehension of 'intercorporeity' surpasses Husserls conception of intersubjectivity. The final chapter displays the critical thinking of my opinion according to Zahavis interpretation of Merleau-Pontys philosophy, from Husserl and Transcendental Intersubjectivity.
