Meaning of virtual reality for a social group of NEETs
Bjaček, Jakub ; Pospíšilová, Marie (advisor) ; Krištofič, Peter (referee)
Jakub Bjaček Meaning of virtual reality for a social group of NEETs Abstract In this bachelor thesis I tried to look in more detail on the current issue of NEETs (acronym for "Not in Education, Employment, or Training"), in short, people who usually do not voluntarily participate in socialization through employment or institutional education. I was mainly interested in the reasons why this is so. Whether it is more about external causes (changes in the labour market, youth unemployment, competitive environment) or even causes of an internal nature. The question was where the NEETs are presenting themselves and how they spend time. That is why I focused on an online space in which a certain part of them could be active more visibly. This leaves me a relatively narrow target group of people who can be ranked in the NEETs category and also are active in the online space. These links have built research objectives. The question is how NEETs are presenting themselves in the online space. I was interested in virtual identity as a way to gain new social capital. This bachelor thesis is not about a comprehensive insight into the sociologically issue of NEETs as a whole, but about a certain view on this issue from the perspective of a particular activity (activities in the online environment and the perceptions and...

Medová, Kamila ; Soukup, Martin (advisor) ; Křeček, Jan (referee)
The Master's thesis Network analysis of the self-presentation of users on the social media platform Facebook.com focuses on the different ways of self-presentation and behavior of the users on the Facebook.com. The central theme of the thesis is the analysis of the self- presentation tools used by users to construct their virtual identities. In the theoretical part there are explained concepts of identity, self-presentation, social role and social network. The emphasis is also put on the dramaturgical concept of Erving Goffman, which is also the basic theory for this empirical research. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a difference between the so-called virtual and real user identity and to point out the existence of the so-called ideal self. The research consists of two parts and combines two research methods. In the first part of the research, there are analysed all the data obtained by qualitative in-depth interview. This data is then used in the following network analysis of the content of their Facebook profiles. This network analysis is the main outcome of this thesis. In the conclusion, the findings obtained during the research are presented and at the same time they are compared with previous researches dealing with this topic.

The pros and cons of social networks
Justová, Martina ; Žáčková, Hana (advisor) ; Cimrmannová, Tereza (referee)
The aim of my thesis was to find out how people behave on social networks. My focus was to highlight the advantages and disadvantages that come out with moving into the cyberspace. As I discovered while writing, social networks can be used for good purposes, for example the charity. At the same time, I concluded that any advantage can be abused. The use of social networks is very tricky. I made up a survey to determine how people use social networks, and which are the most popular. I've created five hypotheses, two got confirmed and three did not. I believe that the results of this survey brought out quite valuable information. The questionnaires revealed that the most popular social networking site was Facebook. It was also confirmed that social networks became a real part of daily life. I wanted to draw attention to the actual topic. I think social work is important to deal with this issue more, because a lot of problems with children and adolescents takes place on the Internet today. Ignorance of this environment can lead to misunderstanding or ignorance of problems and it prevents resolving them. This topic has many more angles to describe from. I can see the importance of kids getting informed at schools by teachers and also instruction of their parents what to take care about.

The thesis elaborate theme of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the context of relationship between teens and teachers, discussed in my master thesis "ICT: A Modern Weapon against Teachers in the hands of Students?", defended in 2012. I focused mainly on the final part, where research findings are presented and discussed. The original text is also enriched by new researches and exploratory studies that were recently published. This essay consists of two parts; a theoretical view and a practical view. The theoretical view consists of four chapters. The first two chapters deal with the specificity of the virtual world and its place within the lives of adolescents and how they communicate. The last two chapters of the theoretical view are focused on the school environment. The third chapter talks about relations of adolescents with teachers and relations among adolescents themselves. The final chapter within the theoretical view covers issues of virtual communication in relation to the school and education. In the practical view, I present quantitative public opinion surveys carried out in the 3rd class of high schools. The research focuses on the neutral,...
