Automatically-directed live broadcasts of sport events

This thesis deals with creating a software, that directs live broadcast of sport events automatically. This system is designed to work with a series of IP cameras, adding some context graphics through videoproduction software. The result of this thesis will be generating outputs for media server on the Internet and big-screen television. The new software will be used for local network production studio.
Mass streaming in Czech Republic

Streaming is a technology that enables the real-time distribution of audio, video and multimedia content on the Internet. These days, the term ``streaming{\crq}q is becoming more widespread due to internet broadcasting of various radio and television stations. Therefore streaming will be the leading topic of this bachelor thesis. Firstly, the description of the technology itself will be mentioned. Secondly, a research on required hardware and software equipment will be carried( platform Adobe, Windows Media, RealMedia).
Subtitling in Live Theatre Performances

The thesis is concerned with the little explored phenomenon of subtitling of live theatre broadcasts. Its aim is to describe the subtitling practice and the outer process of the translation, to determine the translation norms applied in this domain and to monitor reception of the final product. The descriptive thesis explores the translation practice of the NT Live series, which is one of a kind in the Czech Republic. Several case studies help to explore the reception and translation norms. The research makes use of both qualitative methods, such as semi- structured interview and comparative translation analysis, and quantitative methods, such as standardized questionnaire. The results are interpreted with regard to theoretical findings of translation studies in areas related to the subtitling of live theatre broadcasts. The thesis concludes that the client's requirements are minimal and the norms are gradually established by the subtitlers themselves, or adopted from television subtitling practice. Although the live cuing of the subtitles is an inseparable part of the translation process, there is little cooperation between the subtitlers and those who cue subtitles during the broadcast. Football world cup on the screens of Czechoslovak television: Progress of live broadcasting from England 1966 to Italy 1990

Diploma thesis "Football World Cup on the screens of Czechoslovak television : progress of live broadcasting matches from England 1966 to Italy 1990" deals with television interpretation of World Cup broadcasting by Czechoslovak television. There is also mentioned progress of Sport department of Czechoslovak television since the beginning. Author has illustrated participation of audiovisual media from the first World cup in 1930. He brings schedule of broadcasting of Czechoslovak television from each World Cup in the main period under consideration from 1966 to 1990. He takes notice of work of football commentators and also of structure of broadcasting. There is used historical analysis to observe the progress of number commentators and other television workers who were on World Cup, number of live broadcasting matches or recording matches. There is also some comparison with foreign televisions.
Lingustic analysis of football TV commentary from 1970s to present days

This diploma thesis deals with football television commentary since 1970s to present days. In theoretical part it examines its development and two crucial domestic representatives of this genre - Vít Holubec and Jaromír Bosák. The greatest emphasis is placed on verbal chracteristics of their commentary and usage of language means. That is the reason why this diploma thesis also contains Czech language theory that sums up the specifics of football commentary and explains them on actual examples. The practical part contains detailed analysis of four selected football matches. The aim of this work is to compare TV football commentary from 1970s, 1980s and 1990s with its current conception through comparative language analysis.
Language analysis of ice hockey commentary in 1968 and 2018

This bachelor thesis deals with a sports television commentary with a focus on ice hockey. In the theoretical part it examines the history and present days of sports commentary, further it deals with its development, specifics and the most important representatives. The practical part contains basic linguistic definitions with an emphasis on lexikology, vocabulary layers and typical language means for sports commentary. The aim of this work is to compare the commentary of ice hockey from 1968 with its current conception through language analysis and to focus on typical language means of sports live broadcasting.
Comparative analysis of live sports broadcasting in the Czech Republic and other countries

Subject of this study is the analysis of sports television broadcasting in the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain and Great Britain. This comparison serves primarily to examine the visual content of selected TV stations from specific country. TV sports broadcasts are not simply capturing reality, but they are rather an interpretation of this reality, which is also reflected in a number of narrative elements that increases the attractiveness of the event. The author of this study applies the theoretical knowledge to examples of live broadcasts and further develops the theory. Concludes that analysed broadcasts from different countries did not differ significantly from one another, it can be interpreted as a result of the homogenization of sports broadcasting.
The origins of sports radio broadcasting in the territory of Czechoslovakia (1923-1948)

This thesis describes the development of the sports broadcasting in Czechoslovakia in the form of the practical research and historical analysis. The examined period starts in 1923 as the beginning of the existence of Radiojournal - the first radio station in Czechoslovakia and is defined by the year 1948. The thesis is systematically divided into five periods in which I describe the first signs of the interest in the sport in a regular radio broadcasting, first major sports events broadcasted by Radiojournal, organizational, personnel and technical background, marginal sports. Selected sport events with greater or minor importance are also described, as they were gradually transmitted by Radiojournal or Czechoslovak Radio in different periods. The thesis also mentions the occupation of the Czechoslovak Republic during the World War II, when has the interest in the sports radio broadcasting decreased but not vanished completely. There are outlined the activities of Josef Laufer during this period too. Laufer was Czechoslovak icon of the sports radio broadcasting. There is described the personnel expansion and the development of the independent sports redaction in the postwar period.
