Thermal baths Yverdon, five senses in architecture

The theme of two year masters programme was five senses in architecture. The final project is thermal baths in swiss town Yverdon Les Bains, where are currenctly situated baths which do not meet the spa requirements in terms of capacity, operation or eastetics. The aim of the project is not only to design the new spa building, but also to solve miserable situation of the site, to develop the topic of spa in a park, the relationship to the historical buildings of rotunda, hotel and villa Entremont and to solve the spacial organization of the bath house itself, which is both for relaxation and healing. Part of the project is also to expand the accomodation capacity into the new hotel building.

Annotation: This thesis will address the view of the state of man in paradise and the state of man at the moment of disobedience that occurred through an act of man's will contrary to the manifested will of the Creator communicated to the creature through reason and will. It will describe the condition of man who, through his incarnation, was accepted by the Son of God, namely Jesus Christ. This incarnation is a historical event and encourages man to follow the one who incarnated him. In doing so, man can participate in building the kingdom of God here on Earth. Hildegard of Bingen: Saint, Nun and Healer

The topic of this work is a look at the treatment procedures and medical ideas of a medieval healer known as Hildegard of Bingen. This woman became well known even during her lifetime not only as a healer, composer, writer and visionary, but also because she was an abbess and founder of two monasteries. She wrote many works of mystical, religious and medical nature and among her endeavours there are also musical compositions. An extensive collection of her correspondence has been preserved, which documents regular exchange of letters with powerful people of her time, for example the cistercian monk Bernard of Clairvaux, popes Eugene III. and Alexander III., emperor Frederick I. Barbarossa, bishop Daniel of Prague and archbishop Kristián Buch of Mainz. The aim of my work is an attempt to understand the sources of Hildegard's healing abilities and explore the assumed conflict of the knowledge acquired through study and practice, and the sources originating in her visions.

Dissertation entitled Dance with a Million Knots. A return to craft techniques and artistic work with textiles in the context of contemporary artistic practice maps the tendency of the return to craft techniques and handwork in the field of contemporary art. The tendency is reflected in the text through the definition of its relevant terms, examples of several domestic and international exhibition projects, the handwork-oriented practice of contemporary artists, and through a reflection on my own artistic practice. Following the assumption that the process of production and creation itself is now more central to artistic concerns, the dissertation asks for the causes and reasons for this turn, while also anchoring it in a broader social context. The reflection on the topic is presented in the thesis through an experience formulated from the position of a long-standing collaborative artistic practice with Barbora Zentkova, offering an associative reflection on the form and scope of the tendency in contemporary art, as well as on its possible sources and causes.

Ethicotherapy in the concept of Ctibor Bezděk. Problems of human moral life and health. Abstract The aim of the diploma thesis is to point out the connections between the moral life of a person and his state of health. This is a current topic of applied ethics, which deals with the relationship between ethical behavior and its consequences in health and disease therapy. The work deals with the life and work of Ctibor Bezděk, who is considered by the professional public to be the founder of ethics therapy. The diploma thesis introduces the concepts of ethics therapy and tries to bring the meaning of his work to the present day with an understandable approach. The diploma thesis also points out the importance of moral balance in various areas of our lives, the role of faith in God and the trust we place in him in the dynamics of health and disease. The method used in the diploma thesis is the analysis of Ctibor Bezděk's texts, the systematic arrangement into the topic of the thesis and the updating of his legacy. Medical Herbs in the Czech Republic and their Use Depending on the Contained Active Substances

This thesis is focused on the use of medicinal herbs from the ancient past, starting with the world's earliest history of medicine, through the earliest evidence of the cultivation and use of medicinal herbs in the Czech lands, to their importance in contemporary pharmacology. The main aim is to create a concise, comprehensive overview of the methods of obtaining medicinal plants, including their collection and cultivation, their processing and subsequent possibilities of use. This thesis also includes ways of protecting plant species on the basis of regulations and laws within the European Union and in the Czech Republic. It also introduces individual species of the most commonly cultivated or collected medicinal plants and contains data on production, export and import within the Czech Republic. A list of substances contained in the drug and their effects on the human organism is also included in this thesis. In the next section, the most used medicinal herbs in the Czech Republic are listed, sorted accoding to their effects. The appendix contains a glossary of the most frequently used technical terms related to this subject. Effect of electrical stimulation on soft tissue healing

Jakub Jeníček, Ph.D. Opponent of the thesis: Name of the thesis: Effect of electrical stimulation on soft tissue healing Abstract of the thesis: This bachelor thesis summarizes the current state of knowledge regarding the effectiveness of electrical stimulation on soft tissue healing by providing an overview of the issue. The aim of the thesis is to describe the current level of research on the subject in terms of its completeness, current stage and limitations. Fifteen peer-reviewed, relevant articles were included and analyzed through a systematic search. Through analytical analysis and evaluation of the studies, it is determined whether and under what conditions electrical stimulation is effective for soft tissue healing. The articles presented include studies testing the effectiveness of electrical stimulation for healing structurally damaged muscle, tendon, skin and ligament. The work provides a largely positive conclusion regarding the healing effect of electrical stimulation. "To cure is no challenge, the goal is to understand." Ethnographic study of Ayurveda

My diploma thesis mainly deals with monitoring Ayurveda and description of this phenomena in specific situations and contexts. Ayurveda is understood as an entity based on the actor network theory and the symmetrical anthropology which has been constructed in a process of mutual relationships of actors alleging of various natures (material, social, discursive). The main focus is on the ways of setting and redefining of boundaries of Ayurveda as such which have been realized through identification of significant parts related to this process. It was decided to define the key actors as the Teacher, the Doctrine, the Ayurveda Institution, approaches to human body by alimentation, yoga and breath exercise and Ayurvedic medicines. Each chapter is dedicated to both elements and practices influencing these key actors and different ways of their realization. Ayurveda in its entirety is intervened by members of the community, canonical Ayurvedic texts, biomedicine, national and EUs legislative, climate, politics of Institution, individual daily routines and collective scope of interpretation. 1
