Electroencephalography

This semestral paper has its aim to describe the electroencephalography. The beginning of paper is devoted to the history of electroencephalography, then there is both spontaneous and evoked brain activity described. Further, the paper deal with the electroencephalography. At the conclusion of teoretical part is described the methodology and processing of electroencephalography signal. The practical part of the work is focused on the creation of three various exercises on the epilepsy theme, reflexes and memory. Then the exercises were verified practically at fourteen volunteers. Further, in the work there is mentioned the instruction for particular measures, valuation results and its discussion.

Design of the On Demand Pacemaker controlled by Microcontroller

The aim of this diploma work is the suggestion and realization of a cardiostimulator of „On Demand“ type operated by microcontroller. The work is structured on four thematic parts. For the correct suggestion of the whole system, firstly is necessary to understand correctly the cell’s electrophysiology and heart’s anatomy, inclusive the cardiology arrhytmia, which are adherent to cardiostimulators. The cardiostimulator is inhibited by the R-wave and is adaptive on a pulse rate of a source signal. The whole system is supplied by batteries and this supplying is taken into consideration. The network’s functionality is realized on the ECG simulator. There are suggested the suitable enhancements in discussion.

"Match of the Century": The World Chess Championship of 1972 as a propagandistic clash of the Cold War

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the world chess championship between Robert Fischer and Boris Spassky in 1972 within the context of the sports rivalry between the US and the USSR during the Cold War era. The thesis analyses the roots and manifestations of the sports competition between the United States and the Soviet Union, it explores the differences in approach to sporting representation and chess in both states. This work also captures the cultural and sports exchange after World War II which led to mutual visits of the American and Soviet chess teams in their respective countries. Attention is paid to the causes of the media attention devoted to the championship of 1972, which include the then-existing Soviet dominance in world chess, the amount of prize money, and the eccentric behaviour of the American chess player Robert Fischer. A fair amount of attention is given to the depiction of the championship in the American, Czechoslovak, and Soviet press, and it focuses on the way in which both players were portrayed as representatives of their countries. Faktory ovlivňující obnovu lesa na požářišti u Bzence (LS Strážnice)

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to determine the current status of the population of beetle maďalového in the area of fire residues in the forest governance of Bzenec Strážnice and its surroundings. A fire broke out at the end of May 2012 and damaged the area of almost 165 ha of forest. First instar grubs, which were present in soil of burnt vegetation at the time, were not hit by the fire, and then these grubs caused enormous loss of spring planting in 2013. The soil of fire residues was tested with various methods of soil preparation, which would lead to reduction of the amount of beetle grubs maďalového. Out of these methods, the method of soil preparation with milling cutter with depth effect was the most effective one. Application of FORCE 1,5g insecticide had positive effect on the survival of planted seedlings. The dispersion of grubs, in the stand depending on the distance from the tree trunk and the amount of grubs depending on the age of original vegetation, had been investigated. The results showed that the grubs do not have a single concentration but are scattered along the stand depending on the root system, and they were mostly present in the stands of the second class.

Ochrana lesa před chroustem maďalovým v gradačním území Moravské Sahary

The aim of this master´s thesis was the evaluation of options that should lead to the elimination of the harmful effects of the white grubs of Melolontha hippocastani to the gradational area of Moravian Sahara (part of forest maintenance LS Stážnice, the Bzenec district). The effectiveness of chosen preparations (Force 1,5 G and Actara 25 WP) on the white grubs of Melolontha hippocastani was observed and conducted under controlled conditions in the ´container experiment´ with 380 seedlings of Pinus sylvestris. This experiment was repeatedly conducted five times over a period of 3 years. The results show that the most effective preparation against the white grubs is Actara 25 WG (200 up to 400 g/ha/600 l water) in the form of watering. This preparation in the form of spraying was ineffective. Inconsistent results were reached with the preparation Force 1,5 G. At the same time, the vertical movements of white grubs during their development stages in the soil were being observed over the period of 2015–2018. This observation took place in the drill holes of the following proportions 50 x 50 x 60–140 cm. The results confirmed that the depth of wintering of the white grubs and their movements during their vegetative state depends on the soil´s temperature and moisture, and the available sources of food to the current instar of the white grub.

Analysis of performance management of the educational staff at primary school

The thesis aims to analyse the content of the performance management of teachers at an elementary school. The theoretical part first defines basic terms of human resources and the latest concept of human resource management. Subsequently, the individual terms of the core area of performance management are introduced. A specification of the target organization concludes the theoretical part. The research section reveals the application of the individual components of performance management in a real environment of particular elementary schools. It was chosen the quantitative research for the research survey, particularly the technology questioning. It was used the method of semi-structured interviewing technique and the content analysis of school documents for consistency. The final section is devoted to a summary of results and the achievement of project objectives.

The View of Older School Age Student to Teacher's Personality

The older school age is very considerable in terms of developmental psychology. The pupil's characteristics require an adequate reaction, a specific attitude and a psychological knowledge of the teacher. Pupils have some ideas of the teacher's personality, which may not correspond with the requirements imposed by experts. The presented work defines the factors, that are likely to affect the perspective of the learner of older school age to the personality of the teacher. There are recommendations, how to deal with the undesirable factors and generate or enhance the positive factors as well, so that it would indemnify the necessary positive relationship of the older school age pupil with the teacher.

In vitro anti-proliferation activity alkaloids the Amaryllidaceae

Summary
Natural phytochemicals are currently used in the treatment of many diseases. Cancers are just ones of them and they are ranked among the most common and the most serious. Phytochemicals in the form of cytostatics are used in chemotherapeutic treatment of cancer. In future there could be included among cytostatics also some alkaloids from the family
of Amaryllidaceae, whose testing for a selective cytostatic effect on tumor cell lines
of colorectal carcinoma Caco-2 and HT-29 and on normal cell lines of human intestinal epithelial FHs 74 Int is a subject of this thesis.
There were tested 17 alkaloids isolated from plants of Chlidanthusfragrans, Zephyranthes robusta and Nerine bowdenii. Particularly alkaloids from plant Zephyranthes robusta namely haemanthamine with this values: IC50 = 0.99 plus/minus 0.14 microM for tumor cells, Caco-2, 0.59 plus/minus 0.01 microM for tumor cells HT-29 and 19.47 plus/minus 8.86 microM for normal cells
FHs 74 Int, Lycorine with values IC50 = 0.99 plus/minus 0.08 microM for tumor cells Caco-2, 1.2 plus/minus 0.01 microM for tumor cells HT-29 and 22.68 plus/minus 0.09 microM for normal cells FHs 74 Int and Haemanthidin with values IC50 = 3.29 plus/minus 0.91 microM to tumor cells Caco-2, 1.72 plus/minus 0.11 microM to tumor cells HT-29, and 11.63 plus/minus 0.86 microM for normal cells FHs 74 Int proved a significant
anti-proliferative activity.
From these results there is evident the selectivity against colorectal cancer cell lines. For this reason, those tested alkaloids are suitable for further testing and for study of their biological activity against tumor cells in the terms of in vitro and in vivo.
