The use of hydraulic disc brakes for road bikes
Dvořáková, Barbora ; Lošák, Petr (referee) ; Šebek, František (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on the usage of hydraulic disc brakes on road bikes. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part, there is a research focused on differences in construction and properties of hydraulic disc brakes in comparison with rim brakes. The main emphasis is placed on evaluating all advantages and disad-vantages of the hydraulic disc brakes in comparison with rim brakes. Evaluation is conducted both from the functional point of view and user point of view with taking different requirements of both recreational level cyclist and professional cyclist into account. The aim of the second part is the numerical simulation of loading of the frame and fork for both types of brakes. The goal of this part is an overall assessment of suitability of hydraulic disc brakes for the road bikes.
Design and analysis of the road bike made from composite material
Dvořáková, Barbora ; Kubík, Petr (referee) ; Šebek, František (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the design and analysis of road bike frame made of composite material. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part, there is a research focused on the usage of composite materials in relation to making bike frames. The main emphasis is placed on fiber composites, which are most common in cycling. Manufacturing process and production technology are discussed. The aim of the second part is design and the numerical simulation of frame in relation to stand-ard, which is used for the testing of frames. Rigidity and strength are evaluated. The final frame is obtained from the initial design due to several iterations. In conclusion, results are evaluated and recommendations for future work are given.
Comparison of poster processing in Czechoslovakia, Poland and Japan - 60s and the present
Dvořáková, Barbora ; Slanec, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Maňák, Vratislav (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of film posters, both contemporary and those from the 1960's. The theoretical part is divided according to individual countries into chapters about Czech posters, Polish posters and Japanese posters of the 1960's and the present day, and discusses the historical development and representatives of poster creation of the given period and country. The analytical part observes the number of occurrences of articles about posters in both selected time periods in all three countries in chosen media as well as monitors the content of these articles.
Influence of painful menstruation and associated back pain in university students using method of Ludmila Mojžíšová
Dvořáková, Barbora ; Křivánková, Markéta (advisor) ; Hošková, Blanka (referee)
Title: Influencing of painful menstruation and associated back pain in university students using Ludmila Mojžíšová method Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to investigate the effect of Ludmila Mojžíšová method on painful menstruation and the occurrence of associated symptoms. Methods: Research is conducted in the form of an experiment. The diploma thesis includes a theoretical and a practical part. The monitored group consisted of 8 female university students with painful menstruation, in whom the doctor ruled out a more serious cause of these difficulties. The practical part was focused on examining 8 weeks of exercise of the compiled plan together with other techniques according to Ludmila Mojžíšová's method for menstrual pain. The intervention consisted of 4 individual meetings and subsequent independent exercise for 8 weeks with a frequency of ideally at least 30 minutes every day. Kinesiology analysis, anamnesis taking and non-standardized Menstrual Distress Questionnaire were chosen as data collection methods. Results: For the evaluation of the practical part of the work, 4 hypotheses were established. For each subject, the effect of the chosen intervention was assessed through a visual analog pain scale, the MDQ questionnaire and a kinesiology analysis form. Hypotheses were...
The use of art therapy in working with the elderly in a day care centre
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Barbora
This bachelor's thesis explores therapeutic procedures, techniques and methods suitable for working with a group of elderly clients. The theoretical part is focused on specific requirements of the selected age group, the problems of aging and the associated physical, mental and psychological changes. The text also summarizes art therapy in general and its division. In addition, this part focuses on art therapy in group settings and techniques suitable for working with elderly individuals. The practical part of the work documents the author's management of a group of elderly clients in the ambulatory care facility Domovinka in Třebíč. The chapter describes the process of the program preparation, the program implementation and it summarizes the outcomes of the collaboration between the author and the clients. The text is supplemented by extensive reflection and photo documentation of artifacts and of the creative process.
The effect of melatonin on rhythmic ATP release from organotypic cultures of the rat SCN
Dvořáková, Barbora ; Svobodová, Irena (advisor) ; Jelínková, Dana (referee)
The rhythm of ATP accumulation is an one of examples of circadian rhythmicity which is demonstrated across the animal kingdom. It is located in the suprachiasmatic nucleus of hypothalamus, which is a centre of circadian clock and imposes rhytmicity on a whole organism. The question concering the ATP rhythm in an organotypic culture and the impact of melatonin on it has been discussing in this thesis. The synthesis of melatonin is regulated by the activity of the SCN and the hormon itself is known for its feedback on the SCN and a capability of regulating it. It has been shown that ATP rhythm is significantly inhibited under the constant control of melatonin and this inhibition is dose-dependent on a scale of 0,1-10 nM. In case of one-time applied melatonin in 4 p.m. there is no reduction in the accumulation of extracellular ATP but there is a phase shift in ATP rhythm. It has also been shown that ATP rhythm is inhibited and desynchronized under the control of tetrodotoxin which blocks an electric activity of neurons. These results show that melatonin is capable of inducing phase delay of ATP rhythm in SCN and reducing an amount of extracellular ATP, that the effect of melatonin is probably mediated by specific receptors and lastly that ATP rhythm is a result of cell-cell interaction between neurons...
