Critical Edition of Selected Christmas Songs of V. K. Holan Rovenský
Böhmová, Veronika ; Andrlová Fidlerová, Alena (advisor) ; Martínek, František (referee)
The thesis proposes a commented critical edition of five songs from the Christmas part of the Capella regia musicalis hymnal (Knihopis 1458), edited by Karel Holan Rovenský and published by Jiří Laboun the elder. The attempt to apply interdisciplinary linguistic-musicological approach results in an outcome that reflects the relation between language and music. However, the main focus of the thesis lies in the language characterization of the edited texts. Its main goal is to contribute to the scientific research of the baroque language in hymnography production and to make the songs accessible to the general public.
Graphical and Phonological Analysis of Songs by Valentin Šubar: the Perspective of Vowel Length
Böhmová, Veronika ; Andrlová Fidlerová, Alena (advisor) ; Dittmann, Robert (referee)
The thesis analyzes the non-standard vowel length and shortness in the complete hymn book of Valentin Šubar, as it is presented in the edition published by the Utraquist Jiří Hanuš of Kronenfeld in 1612 (Knihopis K16012). Based on selected transliterated segments, the level of consistency in the marking of vowel quantity is identified, and the outcome is subsequently taken into account when interpreting individual non-standard forms. Consequently, the results of previous research on vowel length marking in the 17th century Czech prints are slightly modified and the incorrect datation of surviving exemplars of the hymn book is corrected.

Bőhmová, Veronika ; Voldřichová - Beránková, Eva (advisor) ; Šuman, Záviš (referee)
(in English): Our thesis is titled The Open Work? Swann in love and it's film adaptation. Our primary aim is not only to summarize the most famous theories about the openness of the work but also to apply these theories directly to the book Swann in love and subsequent comparison of the literary and film adaptation of the story. We have divided the thesis into three chapters. The first one is methodological overview. In our thesis we will deal with several phenomena from the field of literary science. We will be interested mainly in the character of the reader and the author and the different roles attributed to them by different theories. We will look closely at the differences between the empiric and model reader and the author, deal with the openness of the work, the difference between the subjects of the author, the narrator and the main characters, and we will also look into the theory of fictional worlds. We chose the work of Umberto Eco as a theoretical basis, but we also draw some ideas from the work of other literary theorists. In the second chapter, these theories will be applied to the specific passages of the book Swann in love. Let's get into the fictional world of Swan's love and watch the surroundings. We will try to conclude what the reader of this work should be, what mistaken...

THE METHODOLOGY OF RUSSIAN ETUDES' PRACTISE
Böhmová, Veronika ; KLÁNSKÝ, Ivan (advisor) ; OPLIŠTILOVÁ, Iva (referee)
The thesis aims to address issues concerning technical piano playing by university students. The topic is approached through a discussion of the overall aesthetics of exercise and a survey of types of piano touch, all using specific analysis of etudes by Russian composers. Etudes by Glazunov, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Stravinsky and are the focus of the analysis. The exercise methods discussed in the text lay much better foundations for technical piano playing, highlight the importance of consciousness as the key factor in the process, and make the piano player examine the musical text with much more rigour. The core of the thesis is not only the detailed discussion of Russian etudes that are only rarely played in the Czech Republic but also a reflection on the piano exercise itself that brings the player towards efficient and meaningful work with the instrument.
