Operations and maintenance methodology of BI systems
Matiášek, Tomáš ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Zajíc, Ján (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on operation and maintenance of BI systems based on Microsoft's SQL Server 2008 R2 platform. This work covers regular activities related to BI system management that means monitoring, performance tuning, maintenance, administration, backup and recovery tasks. System management is based mainly on SQL Server's native management tools along with Microsoft's applications System Center: Essentials and System Center: Data Protection Manager. The main goal of this work is to create BI system operations and maintenance methodology in cooperation with Clever Decision which is specialized in BI area. Partial goals are to design a way of monitoring components of BI system, including to outline backup and recovery posibilities, maintenance and performance tuning of the SQL Server platform. Each chapter contains methods, best practices, summary tables and appropriate tools which help DBA to achieve the specified goals. The main contribution of this work is operations and maintenance methodology created according to Clever Decision's needs. Among the other contributions of this thesis also belongs the definition of using tools for monitoring and maintenance and their relations to the SQL Server's components. The work also contains simple backup and performance tuning methodology for SQL Server. At least, this diploma thesis represents comprehensive material which is strictly focused on OLAP databases operation and maintenance.

Comparison of data management solutions in MySQL and MongoDB while using Doctrine 2 in Symfony 2 framework
Firla, Dominik ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Mittner, Jan (referee)
This thesis focuses on comparing a relational database system with a document database on both theoretical and practical levels. In theoretical part of this thesis principles of relational and document databases are explained. Closer attention is given to MySQL and MongoDB databases. In practical part a solution to data management is realized for a model situation. Both systems are compared in terms of implementation and performance. Knowledge gained is summarized in conclusion of this thesis and should help a reader when choosing the right database system not only for a web application implementing PHP framework Symfony. Practical part of the thesis also includes an author-made project containing implementation of both databases in the model situation.

Information System Efectiveness Assessment and Proposal for ICT Modification
Krpcová, Kateřina ; Kupčík, Zbyněk (referee) ; Neuwirth, Bernard (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis analysis the current state of the information system of a selected company. Based on the results of the analysis, suggestions for improvement are presented. The outcome of this thesis is to design a new information system in the form of a web application that will be more suitable to the current needs of the company, particularly with regard to access to the database.

Possibilities of using database Neo4j
Konoshenko, Evgeny ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Tomášková, Barbora (referee)
The theme of bachelor work is NoSQL graph database Neo4J. The main objective of this work is to describe the key features Neo4J and show a practical example of how to work with this system. To achieve this objective were studied books, internet resources which relate to this topic and official documentation for the database system. The contribution of this work consists in dismantling work with Neo4J through different tools and defining use cases that database. After reading the practical part of the work reader would be able to understand the basics of working with database system Neo4J. The theoretical part focuses on the detailed analysis of the database system Neo4J, specifies terms NoSQL and graph database, defines the place of Neo4J in NoSQL databases, provides the possibility of using Neo4J in practice. In the practical part are presented examples of work with the system Neo4J, is shown the usage of query language Cypher, REST API and web interface Webadmin.

Lighting systems in off-grid applications
Lengyel, Ladislav ; Škoda, Jan (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
Aim of the master's thesis is at first to explain appropriate light sources and lighting systems; secondly present suitable light sources selection for lighting a small space and design of an off-grid system. The last part consists of an overview about alternative energy transformations to light energy. The first of these three major themes focuses on the analysis of light sources suitable for use in applications with accumulation together with data on energy efficiency and the utilization efficiency associated with them, concentrating on their consumption and possible energy saving lighting within small applications. It ends with a description and calculations of electricity energy indicators for different types of rooms. The second and main part of the thesis is focusing on suitable light sources selection for off-grid systems and impacts on humans and the environment associated with it. An object representing a small application has been created in RELUX® software with suitable light sources installed in it. For this scene, appropriate parts of off-grid systems were selected, which could be used to power the proposed lighting. The last theme consists of a brief about alternative sources, most of which are still in development or existing only at a theoretical level. All of these alternative sources are having a possible application in the future.

Sinumerik 840D tools for NC programming of machines
Hrabal, Josef ; Sámelová, Vendula (referee) ; Polzer, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the possibilities of SINUMERIK 840D applications on turning centers. This thesis deals with quality management concepts and their applications in the field of tourism services. The first part defines the basic concepts of quality issues and deals with the approach to its management development. It includes specifics of quality management in the Czech Republic and relationship of quality and competitiveness at the national and corporate levels. The next part is devoted to presentation of the main methods and concepts of quality management, from the simplest historic instruments over the methodologies of planning, optimization, evaluation, analysis and prevention of risks to the indication of the main international standards and models for complex their achievement and control. It is always commented on their suitability and possible links to tourism services, which are listed and defined in the thesis in the context of the main theoretical approaches to quality and its management in the field of services. The analytical part is devoted to analysis of approaches to quality in tourism and specifics of the national service quality systems in developed European countries (Spain, Switzerland and Germany). Their evaluation and comparison with the state of quality management in tourism in the Czech Republic is executed. Subsequently the merits of implementing a quality management system according to ISO 9001 in the hotel business is analyzed and evaluated. Data from the project TLT Benchmark of consulting company KPMG Czech Republic for the period 2009-2011 and data of selected tourism organizations are used. The final part of the paper presents a model solution to the National quality system of tourism services in the Czech Republic. This is based on comparisons and analyzes and presents its main components, namely the national quality standard, brand quality, and institutional security systems. The proposed model is the author's own solution based on theoretical knowledge and long experience in the field of tourism and quality management.
