Coffee Trading on Commodity Markets
Kašička, Jan ; Málek, Jiří (advisor) ; Fičura, Milan (referee)
This thesis offers a comprehensive view of coffee trading on commodity markets. To describe the behavior of prices and their volatility, ARCH and GARCH models are used. These models analyse coffee prices of selected regions in Ethiopia, the birth place of coffee. The thesis connects the characteristics of soft commodity with current knowledge of financial econometrics. It also describes the effects of changes in exchange rates and oil prices on the price of coffee. Price volatility is examined with regard to deregulation and reforms on this market within the last three decades. Developments in the developing world caused a significant need for the progression and identification with the hedging instruments. These are closely linked to the globalized market with coffee, so it is conversely possible to absorb the shocks on small growers, who are significantly impacted by the globalized world.

The transformation in tertiary sector in Czech Republic between 1989/1997/1998
Knobová, Lucie ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Szobi, Pavel (referee)
The diploma thesis analyzes the transformation process of tertiary sector in Czechoslovakia; respectively in Czech Republic between 1989-1997/98 by analyzing the condition of this sector before 1989. The limitation is given by collapse of centrally planned economy and the economic crisis in 1997. The main objective is to idnetify and explain the profound changes in Czechoslovak, respectively Czech tertiary sector; focusing on media sector. In this thesis I will examine whether, in the period of transformation after 1989, was more successful public entity Czech television or private commercial TV Nova. I will support this analysis by research in practical part; where I will evaluate economic development, own functioning and views on both types of televisions.

Last section of the paper describes how Uzbekistan manages to cope with negative external trends in the world (Financial crisis 2007/2008, Russian crisis 2014 and low price of commodities). Analysis performed has proven that in general Uzbekistan managed to successfully pass transitional period.

Cannabis - history and present
Skokanová, Tereza ; Hubertová, Lucie (advisor) ; Klimešová, Anna (referee)
My work is about history of cannabis, about positive size of this plant, about negative size of this plant and about the antidrug politic size against this plant. My work is consists of five main parts. I am starting to talk about history of those plants and I am trying to introduce you with this plants. The second part is about positive size of cannabis plant. The basic positive of cannabis is healing effects and use in the agriculture as well in an industry. The third part is opositte of second part so I will be talking about negative size of cannabis. We know that cannabis has healing power but in my work I will show you danger and harmfulness of cannabis on the users. The fourth part is about antidrug policy against cannabis. Mostly I will talk about OSN because they are one of the biggest antidrug policy on the world. Still we going to talk about antidrug policy in an Europe Unie and of course in the Czech Republic. Last part of my work is a research which is focus on students in Czech Republic and their sentiment about cannabis.

Monolayers of platinum nanoparticles prepared by dip-coating
Černohorský, Ondřej ; Grym, Jan ; Yatskiv, Roman ; Pham, V.H. ; Hudry, D. ; Dickerson, J.H.
Platinum is a transition metal known for its catalytic properties, which are further enhanced when employed in a nanoparticle form. We have recently shown that a monolayer of Pt nanoparticles deposited on semiconductor substrates forms high quality Schottky diodes, which were used in sensitive hydrogen sensors with a detection limit of 1 ppm of H-2 in N-2. Preparation of ordered monolayers of Pt nanoparticles is essential for the understanding of the behaviour of such an interface. To obtain a hexagonal closed-packed nanoparticle array, we prepared Pt nanoparticles stabilized by oleylamine and oleic acid with a narrow size distribution and uniform shapes. A monolayer prepared by dip-coating of Si substrate in the suspension containing Pt nanoparticles showed hexagonal arrangement within separate domains with the surface coverage up to 90%. The increase of the surface coverage with increasing withdrawal speed of the dip-coating process was observed

System approach and simulation of business processes in the chosen restaurant
Taraskina, Anastasiya ; Krejčí, Igor (advisor) ; Horáková, Tereza (referee)
The bachelor thesis is concentrating on application of system dynamics in the real restaurant, to be more specific on ordering system of vegetables to minimize its throwing out. In theoretic part there is mentioned the history of system dynamics, its many applications in the world and in the Czech Republic. Next there are explained important terms that are connected to system dynamics. There is mentioned the relation between system dynamics and system thinking. Also there are tools used to describe structure of the system and the most recent system's archetypes. The practical part describes the restaurant and there are set goals that the model is trying to achieve. There are described two diagrams, one is causal loop diagram and the other is stock and flow diagram. Thanks to these diagrams it was possible to receive optimization for needed data and to achieve set goals.

Quantification of Elements in Plant Materials by Electrothermal Vaporization Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry
Šerá, Luisa ; Matějková, Stanislava ; Mestek, O.
This paper describes optimization and validation of operating conditions of electrothermal vaporization (ETV) inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) method for quantification of Ba, Ca, Co, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, P, Sr and Zn in plant materials. Besides the optimization of the temperature program, the selection of the gaseous modifier and the spectral wavelengths to be measured, it was studied how the sample quantity affects the result quality of the developed method. During the validation process, the accuracy and precision of the method were checked by analysis of a certified reference material. Limits of detection were estimated by analyses of blank samples. For almost all previously mentioned elements, the method meets requirements commonly applied on analyses by ETV combined with ICP-OES.
