Options of continual glycemia monitoring in critically ill patients and treatment of hyperglycemia with the use of insulin algorithms
Bláha, Jan ; Haluzík, Martin (advisor) ; Matějovič, Martin (referee) ; Vaněk, Tomáš (referee)
Glycaemia control is nowadays one of the most discussed topics in intensive care. The landmark Leuven study, which has brought hyperglycaemia in intensive care to the centre of interest, demonstrated that tight glycaemia control (TGC) targeted to maintain euglycaemia between 4.4 to 6.1 mmol/l reduced mortality and frequency of organ complications associated with critical illness. Although this study was published eight years ago, there is still no general agreement about approach to tight glycaemia control in critically ill patients. Doubts have been raised about both the universality of intensive glycaemia control, and especially its safety in terms of potential damage to patients by episodes of hypoglycaemia. Our studies did not focus on questions of importance or risk of TGC, but we concentrated on key point of hole TGC concept - on glycaemia control in critically ill patients itself. The aims of our studies were the research of subcutaneous adipose tissue as an alternative-site for continuous glucose measurements in ICU patients, and comparison and development of insulin algorithms for hyperglycaemia treatment and normoglycaemia management. We demonstrated good correlation between arterial and interstitial subcutaneous glucose concentrations in critically ill patients undergoing deep hypothermia. We...

Determination of methotrexate and 7-hydroxymethotrexate by HPLC and correlation with imunochemical determination of total methotrexate
Suchánska, Iveta ; Dršata, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kukačka, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this work was to verify the correlation at determination of methotrexate by high performance liquid chromatography and imunochemically determination of whole methotrexate. Methotrexate belongs to the chemotherapeutic agent commonly used in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Methotrexate was determined chromatographicly with UV detection at 303 nm after deproteinization with trichloracetic acid. Fluorescence polarization immunoassays of methotrexate was measured on TDx FLx analyzer. The data obtained were analyzed utilizing the PrismGraph Pad 5.0 software. The methotrexate measurements were evaluted employing nonparametric paired t-test (p-value <0,05). Our data indicate good correlation between methotrexate levels > 1 μmol/l determined by high performance liquid chromatography and fluorescence polarization immunoassays. While the concentration of methotrexate < 1 μmol/l measured by fluorescence polarization immunoassays were overestimated. This could be done because of cross reactivity with metabolites 7-hydroxymethotrexate and 2,4-diamino-N10 -methylpteroic acid. These metabolites could influence the determination of methotrexate, because of the close stuctural similarities.

Novel thin scintillation films for 2D imaging screens
Hanuš, Martin ; Kučera, Miroslav (advisor) ; Mareš, Jiří A. (referee)
In this work we studied properties of Ce doped garnet scintillator layers (CexLu3-xAl5O12, CexY3-xAl5O12). They were prepared by liquid phase epitaxy. Studied materials show fast response, high quantum efficiency and good chemical and mechanical stability. Thus they are ideal for use in devices for 2D imaging. We measured absorption, excitation and emission spectra and kinetics of luminescence. Aim was to compare properties of grown layers with properties of single crystals grown by Czochralski method. We looked for the impact of melt compounds to measured layer properties. We also tried to determine optimal amount of Ce in layer. We used flux PbO - B2O3 and flux BaO - BaF2 - B2O3. In those fluxes we succeeded to grow garnet layers at temperatures as low as 1000řC. This lead to less intrinsic defects in crystalic lattice of layer in comparison to single crystals grown by Czochralski method (1900řC). Our layers were from 1 to 30 mm thick with higher concentration of Ce than singlecrystal. Due to higher concentration of impurities in layers grown from PbO - B2O3 flux we grown layers from BaO - BaF2 - B2O3 flux too. Flux BaO - BaF2 - B2O3 leaves less impurities in layers.

63 Community trade mark and its relation to a national trade mark, in particular with respect to the accession of the Czech Republic to the EU. (RESUMÉ) The purpose of my thesis is to show some aspects of the Community trade mark and its influence on the Czech national trade mark. The reason for my research is to show how important community trademark can be. A trade mark can become one of the most important assets of a company. It is a sign which serves to distinguish the goods and services of one organisation from those of another. The thesis is composed of six chapters. The first chapter is only introductory and contains some basic facts about the community trade mark. Chapter two on the other hand is subdivided into eight parts. This chapter deals with some basic facts and describes and explains conception of the community trade mark. This chapter subsumes kinds of trade mark, its function, community collective mark, some history and describes the rights of the owner of the trademark. Chapter three is subdivided into five parts and concentrates on the registration process of the community trade mark and explains some problems that can arise from this process. Chapter four focuses on surrender, revocation and invalidity of the community trade mark. It is subdivided into three parts and each part deals...

Zyka, J. ; Málek, J. ; Pala, Zdeněk ; Andršová, I. ; Veselý, J.
High entropy alloys are a new material class with promising structural and mechanical properties in wide range of applications. In principle they consist of five or more elements in equimolar concentrations resulting basically in single phase microstructure. TaNbHfZrTi alloy was developed by Senkov for high temperature applications.\nSince all of these elements are biocompatible the TaNbHfZrTi alloy can be investigated as a prospective bio implant material. The alloy was prepared by vacuum arc melting, no annealing treatment was applied. Tensile test and hardness test at room temperature were performed with very good results: yield strength 1155 MPa, rupture strength 1212 MPa, Vickers hardness 359 HV30. Microstructure and fracture morphology was also investigated.
