Ichthyofauna of selected sections of the Jizera basin
CHYTRÝ, Martin
Rivers fragmentation by migration barriers has a significant negative effect on native fish communities and other river organisms. That is the reason why there has been put a lot of emphasis on creating fish pass in rivers in recent years. Between the years 2012 and 2013 there were carried out investigations on the new slit fish pass on the Jizera River in Turnov. The aim was to assess the technical realization of the construction of fish pass and functionality for local ichthyofauna. Primarily we have focused on hydraulic conditions in the fish pass (water flow, velocity, level differences in all chambers). During the fish pass technical inspection the fish was being caught by electric aggregate. The species composition of fish was also measured in the weir. Catching weir was used to catch the counter-migrating fish through the fish pass. The caught fish was taken its body length in mm and weight in grams and subsequently was calculated numerical dominance, diversity and evenness. There were 519 pieces of fish caught weighing 6.395 kg in total. There was confirmed presence of 10 species of fish in the fish pass, while in the weir were found 3 more species of fish and 1 species of lamprey. Reproductive migration was confirmed for brown trout and minnow. Roach, dace, perch and chub have settled down in the resting chambers permanently. There have been found several defects in the fish pass. There have been found large differences between the levels of chambers, high flow rates, reduced light penetration of the water in the fish pass, lack of entry attractiveness of the fish pass and non-minimum residual flows. Fish passage is considerably clogged by suspended dirt and the cleaning possibility is limited. Functionality and selectivity of the fish passage has not been demonstrated. There will be further investigations carried out in 2013.

Optimization of the hop harvest in relation to maximizing product quality indicators
PEŠINA, Milan
The thesis analyses and evaluates content and composition of bitter acids by HPLC method and Hop Storage Index (HSI). These methods were applied on samples taken from four varieties of hop (Saaz, Brewer, Premiant and Agnus) in four locations (Blšany, Běsno, Nesuchyně and Strojetice) of žatec hop-growing area in the period from 18. 8. 2012 to 4. 9. 2012 during the hop harvest. Furthermore, the influence of the drying procedures on the hops was monitored, it means, difference in the content and composition of bitter acids between green and dry hops and the comparison between the band and chamber drying rooms.

Impact of the American mortgage crisis on the economy of Czech republic
Roháč, Michal ; Kalínská, Emílie (advisor) ; Černá, Iveta (referee)
The diploma thesis clarifies main causes of the mortgage market meltdown in the USA as a starter to the global financial problems. The objective of the thesis is to analyze the American mortgage and housing market price bubble according to the views of the Austrian school of economics, which claims that problems were caused by inappropriate intervention of the U.S. Federal Government, Federal Reserve System and other government institutions in the markets. Furthermore, the thesis criticize the actions and measures taken by the U.S. government to stabilize the economy, which only seeks to alleviate the consequences, not to prevent the causes. Last chapter of the thesis analyze the impact of the subsequent financial crisis and global economic downturn on financial market, real economy and international trade of Czech republic.

Analysis of factors affecting young people in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic
Pokorný, Tomáš ; Hudík, Marek (advisor) ; Skopeček, Jan (referee)
This thesis analyzes the factors that influence decisions of young people in elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. Specifically, it focuses on the citizens of the Czech Republic citizens aged 18 to 28 years. The research is carried out in elections to the House of Commons in 2010. As shown by earlier studies from the United States or European countries (Abramson, 1974; Knoke 1974; Baker, 1978; Inglehart, Norris 1999; Anderson, 2000; C. Baslevent H. Kirmanoglu 2008), for young people are dominant other factors than for older generations in public elections. My goal is to detect the influence of psychological, social and political determinants of the electoral vote and determine what the characteristics of young leftist and rightist voters are. Furthermore this thesis validates some hypotheses, based on various studies (Knoke 1974, Abramson 1974, Thorisdottir et al. 2007). As a method of analyzing the dependence between explained variable and explanatory variables I used multinominal logistic regression to testing hypotheses investigating the influence of parents political orientation, household earnings, and traditionalism to party election. Null hypotheses expecting no influence of these variables were rejected. Alternative hypotheses were confirmed only in certain categories of hypotheses investigating parents political orientation influence to party election.

Discussion of research priorities of socio-economic determinants of obesity
Voglová, Daniela ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Kružík, Lubomír (referee)
This work follows the studies focused on obesity, its global extent and its serious health and economic impact. At the same time, the work examines the unsuccessful fight of public policies which try to reverse growing prevalence of obesity. Nevertheless, the main goal of the thesis is a discussion about priorities of new orientation in the research on the causes of the obesity epidemic and effectiveness of precautions that were taken in many countries and international organizations with the main aim to stop the obesity and its consequences. The discussion leads to the more detailed description of the problems connected with obesity, for instance, environmental aspects, housing culture in relation to physical activities, lifestyle in relation to advertisement/marketing, psychological and socio- psychological aspects, combating stress, etc. My intention was to find out utility of contemporary research on obesity for setting of policy fighting against obesity. At the same time, I wanted to find out other possible directions in the research into this field and discover how the discussion about priorities of the research in the experimental community proceeds. Two international dimensions of paradigmatic approaches separated to the certain degree can be considered as relevant with regard to the global...

Resuspension chamber as a tool for determination of resuspendable fraction of soil and street dust
Civiš, Martin ; Hovorka, Jan (advisor) ; Ždímal, Vladimír (referee) ; Střižík, Michal (referee)
A purpose-built cylindrical resuspension chamber (V=0.437 m3 , S=0.35 m2 , S/V=8.38) was used for the dispersion of samples of soil and various kinds of dust. The samples were studied from the point of view of the number and mass distribution of aerosol particles which could affect the concentration of atmospheric aerosol. The samples were taken from lignite, power plant flue ash and from overburden soil in the North Bohemian surface mine Nastup. The individual samples were pneumatically dispersed inside the chamber under defined temperature-humidity conditions (20řC and relative humidity (RH) 50 %). An APS (Aerodynamic Particle Sizer) processing provided us with average size distributions of particle mass and number. Lignite and flue ash probably have the greatest potential impact on the concentration of atmospheric aerosol in the studied locality. The amount of the resuspended mass of the samples varied between 0.001 % (overburden soil) and 0.32 % (mine road). The lignite and flue ash samples were then analyzed by gravimetric methods using the HI (Harvard Impactor) and the SCI (Sioutas Cascade Impactor). The flue ash contained higher amounts of fine particles than the lignite. Subsequent chemical analysis by electron microscope of the filters with deposits of power plant flue ash showed that the PM2.5...

Politics and legislation. Czech Parliamentary Culture 1993 - 2010
Wintr, Jan ; Znoj, Milan (advisor) ; Kysela, Jan (referee) ; Znoj, Milan (referee)
S u m m a r y The study is focused on the real activity of the Parliament of the Czech Republic since the establishment of the Czech Republic in the year 1993. Central idea of parliamentary culture describes rules, customs, manners a behavior, which are typical for a particular Parliament. Two ideal types are introduced by this study: regulated and improvised parliamentary culture. For the first one is typical the direction of parliamentary activity: agreements between parliamentary groups over the course of the session and the debate, a strong role of the Speaker or parliament presidium, an attractive debate with changing speakers for and against, a possibility of a interrupting questions (Zwischenfrage), but also a dominance of frontbenchers. Model cases are the House of Commons of the United Kingdom and the Bundestag. On the other hand an improvised parliamentary culture is more free and chaotic, the daily agenda is often result of a force vote and always can be changed, the order of speakers depends only on order of applications, it can not be voted for the end of debate, it is not allowed to interrupt the Speaker with questions and the factual possition of the Speaker is rather weak. All this is typical for the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. These considerations are the...

Changes in British Parliament in 1988-2008
Tyl, Lukáš ; Buben, Radek (advisor) ; Bureš, Jan (referee)
Political system in Great Britain underwent a significant change in the 1990s. Labour Party was the one responsible for the changes which it both initiated and pushed through. Devolution brought remarkable amount of decentralisation, which is likely to spread further in the following years. The Scottish nationalists, above all, will not give up they aim of independent Scotland in the future. British Parliament Upper Chamber reform, mainly the one taking place in 1999, was very intense. Some, even more intense, proposals were rejected. Judiciary reform that took place will do no harm to the House of Lords. It is improbable that the House of Lords will prevent further changes over next ten years. Just like it failed in the past 100 years in fact.

Causes of the enterprise failure in the case of small-scale and middle sized enterprises.
Nováková, Zuzana ; Křížek, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kešner, Martin (referee)
This bachelor's thesis analyses possible causes of the enterprise failure in the case of small-scale- and middle sized enterprises. Variety of available and relevant researches were used in order to cover this topic properly, mainly the CSO(Czech Statistical Office) and the EC(Economic Chamber). Furthemore the own author's experience in this field was taken into account. This thesis was beeing processed in the time of the World Economic Crisis and therefore it partially also deals with this current issue. Firstly, the intention of this Bachelor's thesis is to avaluate possible causes and secondly to suggest conceivable sollution. However, the main goal is to draw the attention to potential impediments which could be unpleasantly surprising to the starting enterpriser and therefore should be as such bewared for the sake of avoiding needless problems.

Investigation of droplet nucleation in CCS relevant systems – Design and testing of a CO2 branch of the mixture preparation device.
Vinš, Václav ; Čenský, Miroslav ; Hykl, Jiří ; Hrubý, Jan
A unique in-house designed experimental apparatus for investigation of nucleation of droplets in CCS relevant systems is being developed by our team. The nucleation is measured with the help of a rapid pressure drop within an expansion chamber. In this study, a CO2 branch representing an important part of the mixture preparation device (MPD) was designed, assembled and tested. MPD is intended for preparation of CO2-rich mixtures in a sense of accurate setting of flow rates of individual gaseous components through the experimental section with the expansion chamber. In the CO2 branch, the saturated liquid CO2 is pressurized by a supercritical pump to the pressures of up to 340 bar. The required mass flow of the supercritical CO2 is accurately tuned with a help of a set of stainless steel capillary tubes. Needed lengths of the capillary tubes were determined with a help of a one-dimensional numerical model allowing prediction of both isothermal and adiabatic flow conditions.
