Wind Turbine Model for Research and Laboratory Applications
Števček, Tomáš ; Ptáček, Michal (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
A major portion of this thesis is devoted to the Whisper 200 wind turbine model in Matlab-Simulink environment. The turbine is installed at the Department of Electrical Power Engineering, FEEC BUT. In the model, several types of simulations can be executed. On that basis, the power curve and mathematical relationships between wind speed and other physical quantities, such as RPM, electic current, and voltage, were obtained. Comparisons of the simulations' results with measurement data illustrate adequate agreement, but limitations of the model remain significant, as is exhaustively documented and commented upon in the thesis. As a partial advancement towards elimination of the model's deficiencies, conditions for substantial performance improvements of the dynamic simulation have been elaborately derived.

The research has shown that the purpose of the two projects is an educational-preventive activity that provides at least a minimum support to the development in education and the answers to the two research questions have been as follows: The social work performed within development projects improves the quality of individual lives. The social work performed within development projects improves the quality of life of the community. The thesis seeks to highlight the current situation of development projects in Zambia and it may contribute to a better quality of social work performed in the developing world and to a higher effectiveness of development projects.

Co-operation of Nurses with Selected Support Groups
SCHRIMPFOVÁ, Pavla
The Bachelor?s Thesis was focused on co-operation of nurses with selected support groups. Four objectives were set. Objective 1: To find out the nurses? awareness of any support groups. Objective 2: To find out if the nurses co-operate with the support groups. Objective 3: To point out to the nurses? collaboration with the support groups. Objective 4: the selected support groups representatives? opinion on their co-operation with the nurses. A quantitative and qualitative investigation was chosen for the purpose of data gathering. The quantity examination was done by questioning method using a way of questionnaire, the quality one was carried out by questioning method using a way of non-standardized dialogue. Two hypotheses and 2 research questions were defined. Hypothesis 1: the nurses are informed about the existence of support groups, it was confirmed. Hypothesis 2: the nurses co-operate with the support groups, it wasn?t confirmed. Research question 1: How do the selected support groups? representatives perceive present co-operation with the nurses? Answer: The nurses? collaboration with support groups differs from according to a particular support group. Representatives of Diabetic Union of the Czech Republic, Local Unit Plzeň evaluate their collaboration with nurses to be ideal. The nurses do lecturing for the Union, they conduct special discussions and take part in meetings in which they provide blood pressure, glycaemia, cholesterol measuring with concerned people. Further, the nurses participate in a Dia-Club operating, they act educationally in re-conditional stays offering sick people any contacts to the Diabetic Union, the Dia-Club and hand over any information brochures. The Breast Carcinoma Patient Association?s representatives - MAMMA HELP CENTRE Plzeň state the nurses don?t collaborate with them at all. Representatives of ILCO Colostomy Patients Association Tábor point out to a fact that only one specialised nurse collaborates with them, she provides contacts, lectures in the colostomy club, she ensures and hands over compensating aids and conducts chatting. Research question 2: What conception do the selected support groups? representatives have as to possibilities of further co-operation with nurses? Quality of life of patients with Crohn´s disease
RENDL, Lukáš
Theoretical foundation Crohn's disease is a chronical autoimmune disease categorized, together with ulcerative colitis, in the group of idiopatic intestinal inflammations. But in spite of this categorization, Crohn's disease may not be found only in the intestines but anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract. However, the intestinal localization is most frequent and is related with numerous manifestations like stomachake, diarrhoea, bloating, flatulence, belching, loss of weight, etc. The pathogenetic cause of those discomforts consists in disorder of autoimmunity, when the body starts producing antibodies against its own tissues. But the cause of start of that pathogenetic mechanism has not been clarified so far. Experts speak about influence of infections, food, psychosomatics, smoking, genetic perceptiveness, etc. The hope of the patients is pinned on the continuously improving treatment, culminating by biological preparations that have most influenced the health condition of those persons so far. But in spite of the modern therapy, all characteristics of the disease can have negative impact on the quality of life of the patients. Goal of the thesis The goal of this thesis consists in ascertaining the quality of life of Crohn's disease patients. Hypotheses H1: Crohn's disease patients have problems in physical area. H2: Crohn's disease patients have problems in psychic area. H3: Crohn's disease patients have problems in social area. Methodology The practical part of the thesis was implemented based on quantitative inquiry within the grant Project No. 120/2012/S ?Reflection of life quality in nursing?. Two standardized questionnaires were used for the inquiry: the WHOQOL-100 general questionnaire and the IBDQ specific questionnaire, distributed among Crohn's disease patients. Valid licence was bought for both questionnaires. The size of the research set was determined at 100 Crohn's disease patients, the Crohn's disease diagnosis being the only criterion for selection of the respondents. The distribution of the questionnaires among the respondents took place with the help of gastroenterological centres. Results All data obtained were statistically processed in the SASD (Statistical Analysis of Social Data) program. The results of the processing can be divided into three areas, by the three main hypotheses verified. The first area of results provided information on the problems confronted by Crohn's disease patients in physical area. Only one problem was confirmed here: the Crohn's disease patients feel fatigue. All the remaining problems under verification in this area were refused. The second area brought information on psychical problems of the patients. Similarly to the preceding case, only one problem troubling the Crohn's disease patients was found here: feeling of irritation. The occurrence of the remaining psychical problems under verification was not confirmed. The last area of results found out the problems of the patients in social area. The results were the most positive in this case, as none of the problems under verification in this area was confirmed. Based on all results stated above, the hypotheses were evaluated as follows: H1 Crohn's disease patients have problems in physical area - refused; H2 Crohn's disease patients have problems in psychic area - refused and H3 Crohn's disease patients have problems in social area - refused. Conclusion The thesis provides comprehensive view on the issue of quality of life of Crohn's disease patients. The results may be used particularly in the work of so called IBD nurses, endoscopic nurses, but also general nurses working with the patients. The thesis can be also used as study material or as foundation for further research.
