Czech prince and Saxon duke in 12th century. Comparison of the Czech principate and Saxon duchy of Henry the Lion
Zelenka, Jan ; Žemlička, Josef (advisor) ; Bláhová, Marie (referee)
If we resume the results of our comparison, we can see that the basic difference between the duchy of Saxony, territorial domain of Henry the Lion and Bohemian principality is represented by inner political structure of these domains. In consequent this inner political structure were also the chances ofthe emperor encroach diverged. The Saxonian duchy was a conglomerate of major number of aristocratic domains. The holders of these domains (bishops, earls ..... etc.) did not subordinate to fiats of the duke, they did not grant his authority. His power and support from emperor Frederick I. Barbarossa gave him a factual dominance over the other princes of Saxony however it did not let him to beared rule over them. His effort to enlarge his own principality threatened other princes's political positions and that is why they were in constant opposition

Pompová, Dominika ; Tureckiová, Michaela (advisor) ; Eger, Ludvík (referee)
The character of activities of human resource management is in today's world wider and wider, to be a good employer is not enough, it is needed to communicate this message through various channels and grip potential employees, current employees and also the public. On the basis of analyzis of available sources, the thesis summarizes and completes current knowledge in the area of personnel marketing and employer branding, and proves the importance of personnel marketing in the discipline of human resource management. The theoretical part at first concentrates on the general area of personnel marketing, later it covers specific activities of personnel marketing focused on the target group of university students and graduates. The practical part of the thesis describes the approach of a specific organization and activities of that organization focused on the target group of university students and graduates. Later the practical part describes a project of building university relations in which I took a part, the results of this project, and evaluation of the impact of the results. In the end the thesis compares the activities of this organization with prevalent praxis and answers a question if the success of personnel marketing is based rather on quantitative or qualitative approach. Specificities of nursing newborn children with partum cranial injuries
KOBLIHOVÁ, Jitka
Birth injuries of the new-born infants might be caused either by mechanical or anoxic traumas that occur during the birth. The injuries might be a result of insufficient attention or inadequate efforts of the obstetrician but might as well occur completely independently of the obstetrician´s activities. The character and extent of birth injuries are very wide and vary from the insignificant ones that are cured completely without any consequences to those that leave long-term consequences and that may even end in the death of the new-born infant. Cranial injuries of the new-born infants include: caput succedaneum (swollen scalp), cephalohaematoma, petechiae, suffusion, eye injuries, scalpel-incised wounds, parietal bones fractures, spinal cord injuries and intracranial haemorrhage. This Baccalaureate thesis surveys the knowledge of the nursing staff as far as birth cranial injuries are concerned and concentrates also at specific aspects of nursing new-born infants who suffer from caput succedaneum (swollen scalp) and cephalohaematoma. The theoretical part comprises the most important pieces of medical knowledge in nursing new-born infants with birth cranial injuries. The first goal of this thesis was to map the level of knowledge of the birth cranial injuries among the nursing staff. In compliance with this goal a hypothesis was stipulated: ?Members of the nursing staff are well-informed about birth cranial injuries.? This hypothesis was verified and confirmed. It was found out that members of the nursing staff have good knowledge about birth cranial injuries, their predispositions and prevention. A quantitative research was carried out using the questioning method (the questionnaire technique was used). The research was carried out at the Neonatal Departments of the hospitals Nemocnice České Budějovice, a.s, Nemocnice Písek, a. s. and Nemocnice Strakonice, a.s. The second goal of this thesis was to map the specific aspects of nursing new-born infants who suffer from caput succedaneum (swollen scalp) and cephalohaematoma. In compliance with this goal a research question was stipulated: ?What are the specific aspects of nursing the new-born infants who suffer from caput succedaneum and cephalohaematoma?? It was found out that nursing new-born infants with caput succedaneum and cephalohaematoma does not comprise many specific aspects. The most important thing is to nurse such infants carefully and with caution, to position their heads on the side without caput succedaneum or cephalohaematoma, to check regularly the bilirubin level, to observe carefully the cephalohaematoma or caput succedaneum (its colour, size, localization) and to watch the behaviour of the new-born, mainly whether it shows any signs of pain. The research was carried out in a qualitative way using the question method ? the depth interview technique. The research file consisted of two nurses and two midwives from the Neonatal Department of the České Budějovice Hospital, a.s. The research has revealed that the nursing staff at neonatal departments is well informed about birth cranial injuries and that the nursing methods applied at new-born infants who suffer from caput succedaneum and cephalohaematoma do not differ much from the methods used in case of physiological infants. The output of the thesis is an educative material concerning birth cranial injuries that is intended for the nursing staff at neonatal departments.

Diagnostic options for detection of postoperative lymphoedema in patients with breast cancer
Halaška, Michael ; Marešová, Dana (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee) ; Stárka, Luboslav (referee)
Lymphoedema is a severe postoperative complication after treatment of many malignancies. It is a pathological accumulation of extracellular water (ECW). Early diagnostic tool is needed. Multifrequency bioimpedance analysis (MFBIA) is a method for detection of changes in ECW. We would like to establish the methodology for detection of lymphoedema of limb in patients undergoing breast cancer surgery. We measured a control group of 60 women, 5 women with pronounced lymphoedema and a group of 37 patients undergoing a breast cancer surgery during 9 month after the surgery by MFBIA and circumferency. Characteristics of the patients were recorded. Different linear extrapolations from 1, 5, 50, 100, 200 kHz were determined to find resistance at 0 Hz for each women; ratio of R0 nondominant/ dominant and non-operated/operated limb was evaluated; Pearson correlation coefficient was used to compare correlation of the results and characteristics of the patient. Extrapolation with the lowest standard deviation was found to be 5, 50, 100 kHz. On the group of women with pronounced lymphoedema higher sensitivity was found by MFBIA compared to circumferency measurements. Stronger correlation between the volumes calculated from circumferences with weight and BMI compared to MFBIA was found. We found statistically significant...

Axiological Dimension in Education and Cultivation
Göbelová, Taťána ; Dorotíková, Soňa (advisor) ; Kolář, Zdeněk (referee) ; Demjančuk, Nikolaj (referee)
To bring up and educate any person means to guide him/her to understand basic notions o f what a man can be and what is his/her mission. Such orientation towards being (existence) as an "active a ltern ativ e" implies orientation in constitutive values o f humanity based on which we create our attitude towards the world. My PhD Thesis named "Axiological Dimension in Education and U p b r in g in g " is focused on raising questions and developing arguments in the following area: which values and objectives should become the priority in education and upbringing o f the early 2 1 st century. There is one o f the core documents which tries to specify the above issues, e.g. the Report " Learning is Hidden W e a lth " elaborated by the UNESCO International Com m issio n - the "Education for the 21st c e n tu r y " headed by Jacques Delors. The four basic pillars are "to learn to co g n iz e " , " to learn to act" , "to learn to live to g e th e r " and "to learn to b e" and point out the necessity of philo sophical reflexion. They are linked with the basic philosophical questions postulated by Kant: " What can I k n o w ? " , "What can I do" , "What can I hope f o r? " and "What is a human being like?" The main charakters of Czech fantastic literature in 1920's

"Reflections on Religion: Richard Wright and James Baldwin"
Jirásková, Anna ; Robbins, David Lee (advisor) ; Veselá, Pavla (referee)
The thesis seeks to explore how religion is depicted in the works of two of the most influencial African American authors of the 20th century, Richard Wright and James Baldwin. The analysis takes as framework Wright and Baldwin's mutual discussions about how to properly articulate the African American experience in literature. The thesis examines an autobiographical work and a novel by each author. In Wright's case, the books that are discussed are his two-volume autobiography, which consists of a first part dealing with Wright's childhood and early youth in the American South, called Black Boy, and a second part, American Hunger, recounting his adult life in the North. Furthermore, his major novel Native Son is analyzed. In the case of Baldwin, The Fire Next Time, i.e. two essays which elaborate on different episodes from Baldwin's life, and the novel Go Tell It on the Mountain are examined. The discussion is completed by insights offered by Wright in his essay "How 'Bigger' Was Born", and by Baldwin in the essays "Everybody's Protest Novel", "Many Thousands Gone", and "Alas, Poor Richard!" The first section of the thesis deals with the criticism Baldwin advanced against Wright in several essays, in which Baldwin was suggesting that Wright's angry writings have only reinforced the discourse of the...

Dealing with complaints according to consumer contracts
DRBOHLAVOVÁ, Magdaléna
A consumer is not educated enough when it comes to the question of protecting his/her rights and he gathers information at random and according to his own needs. Only a minimum of consumers is informed about state institutions or citizens associations that cover this area. Also a minimum of consumer would turn to one of the state institutions or associations in case of an unsuccessful complain. More than a half of consumers claim not to be sufficiently informed about the return policy of the particular shop, but on the other hand a larger part of consumers is not interested in the return policy at all. Consumers mostly complain about goods with value higher than 1000 CZK, so more valuable things. They don?t bother with complain about goods with lower value e.g. chemist?s goods or groceries. Most of the time the complaint is dealt by repairing the good, followed by replacing it and in the last place is price reduction. Majority of small as well as big shops does not offer lending of similar product for the time of dealing with the complaint. Almost every one of the respondents welcomes a notice regarding the early handling of the complaint. In case of an unsatisfied result of the complaint the consumer tries to communicate with the seller further more. The same procedure is with the small and big sellers. The consumers almost do not look for the help with the state institutions or citizens associations although these institutions are willing to help and communicate with consumers.
