The Business Environment in the Czech Republic - the Greatest Weaknesses

This Bachelor thesis identifies and analyzes the greatest weaknesses of the business environment in the Czech Republic from the point of view of both the Czech entrepreneurs and an international comparison. We concluded that the system of taxation proves to be excessively demanding and so is the level of administration required that has an adverse effect on the life of the entreprise. The continuous improvements made on the side of public affairs administration and the introduction of electronic communication with the private sector should guarantee better results. The level of corruption perceived remains high and the Czech government increases the attention paid to this issue. Finally, the current economic crisis may change the features of the Czech labour market that can be characterized by its rigidity due to resctrictive labour regulations and low mobility and non-correspondence of qualifications.

Bretton Woods Monetary System

Bretton Woods system has never been a main topic of Czech economic literature even though it strongly influenced finance of the most developed countries between 1944 and 1971 (1973). This diploma thesis is an attempt to analyze this important historical phenomena in international finance and the last metal oriented system in the history. The first chapter brings the most important terms and definitions that are necessary for better understanding of this problem. It is followed by chapters analysing international finance development in this area starting with the interwar period, followed by creation of Bretton Woods Monetary System in 1944 and first very successful and hopeful years that finally came to an end with accumulation of more problems that put a strain on the system such as for instance creation of long term dollar deficits by United States. This paper also analyzes the most important problems, finds similarities between Bretton Woods System and European Monetary System and tries to answer a question if this system or any monetary system like that can be successful on a long term basis.

Commands and comments: tha language of "The nine chapters on the mathematical art" and its commentaries

Předmětem této práce je jazyk klasické čínské matematiky, konkrétně jejího stěžejního anonymního díla "Matematika v Devíti kapitolách" a dvou nejdůležitějších komentářů k němu. "Matematika v Devíti kapitolách" (Jiu zhang suan shu ft; UT) je sbírka vzorových úloh a metod jejich řešení z přelomu letopočtu. Ve 3. století n. 1. k ní napsal obsáhlý komentář Liu Hui ~U fit, na začátku dynastie Tang přibyly vysvětlivky Li Chunfenga *#ll a jeho spolupracovníků. Na tomto materiálu lze proto zkoumat nejen samotný matematický jazyk a jeho vývoj, ale také komentáře jako žánr, který má specifické stylové potřeby. Práce se skládá ze dvou výkladových částí: první je shrnutí historických informací o "Matematice v Devíti kapitolách" a jejích komentátorech, druhá analyzuje jazyk jednotlivých vrstev textu a snaží se odhalit hlavní rysy každé vrstvy a jejich rozdíly. Třetí část, zařazená jako příloha, je překlad výběru z "Matematiky v Devíti kapitolách" včetně Liu Huiova a Li Chunfengova komentáře, doplněný mými jazykově-matematickými poznámkami. Pro tištěnou verzi byl překlad silně zkrácen, celý pracovní překlad relevantních částí je obsažen na přiloženém CD-ROMu. Real estate market in the CR

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problémy spojenými s trhem nemovitostí se zaměřením na trh vlastnického bydlení. V první řadě se práce věnuje specifickým vlastnostem nemovitostí, které bydlení zajišťují výjimečné postavení ve vztahu k ostatním statkům. Následně je využito těchto znalostí k popisu fungování trhu s bydlením. Analytická část reaguje na současný trend ve vývoji cen rezidenčních nemovitostí. Dochází k opakování situace z roku 2002 - 2003, kdy ceny nemovitostí zaznamenaly rapidní růst. Práce proto analyzuje podstatné faktory, které zapříčiňují zvyšování cen v různé míře na většině regionálních trhů. Dále je úkolem analytické části porovnat ceny bytů v jednotlivých krajích ČR a podle socioekonomických kritérií vybrat nejvhodnější oblast pro bydlení mladé rodiny. Jelikož investice do nemovitosti představuje velký finanční výdaj, práce představuje i základní možnosti financování nákupu bydlení.

Support for teaching of computer courses at the universities of 3rd age

This study deals with teaching computer courses at universities of the third age and the possibilities of support for teaching. First, monitor and compare subjects, aimed at teaching work with the PC for the elderly, which are taught in selected universities. Selection includes Charles University in Prague, Czech Technical University in Prague, Prague University of Economics and University of Mining at the Technical University of Ostrava. This study analyzes the characteristics and differences of teaching courses for seniors, which also compares with the current concepts of teaching common students. The aim of this study is to provide a comparison of available software tools for teaching and learning, based on selected criteria to choose the most appropriate instrument. Describe chosen instrument in detail and create the instructions for produce a teaching tutorial in practical application.

Fat tax - the tool in the battle against obesity

Object of this thesis is fat tax. Thesis analyses theoretically causes and effects of substantial increase of obesity in last decades. It looks on the justifiability of state's intervation to the market for the reason of increasing rate of obesity and analyses pretexts for this intervation. It suggests the ideal solution of the obesity problem. It denominates the main tools of state, by which state combat against obesity and focuses theoretically and practically on the fat tax. It analyses the benefits and costs of the fat tax and comments the effectiveness of this tax on the model studies. In last chapter it analyses dependence between the fat tax and the rate of obesity in the USA.

Business Plan for Building-up Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant

The master thesis is a proposal of the business plan for building-up solar photovoltaic power plant. The first part includes presentation of businessman and industry analyses. Theoretical basis are offered in the second part of this thesis. The next part analyzes conditions of business sector, legislative conditions and then current situation of the company is evaluated by financial indicators. After that proposal of investment in photovoltaic power plant, economical parts follow. At the end of the thesis an evaluation of the proposed solution is presented.

Míra ohrožení chudobou jako indikátor chudoby v Evropě ? analýza vlastností a vypovídací schopnosti

Tématika sociální soudržnosti a sociálního vyloučení hraje v posledním období stále významnější roli v agendě Evropské unie. Spolu s tímto vývojem narůstá i potřeba srovnatelných sociálních indikátorů pro oblast příjmů a životních podmínek. Významným indikátorem pro tuto oblast je v současné době indikátor ?míra ohrožení chudobou?, který patří do skupiny klíčových strukturálních indikátorů pro pravidelné monitorování sociální situace v EU. V této souvislosti se tento indikátor těší rostoucí mediální pozornosti a zájmu uživatelů. Tématem předkládané práce je analýza tohoto indikátoru, jeho vlastností a vypovídací schopnosti. Úvodní část se zabývá teoretickými koncepty měření chudoby, vybranými indikátory pro měření chudoby a problematice dat o příjmech domácností. Druhá kapitola podrobně analyzuje definici indikátoru ?míra ohrožení chudobou? a jednotlivé její parametry. Prezentovány jsou odhady hodnot tohoto indikátoru v České republice pro populaci celkem a vybrané socioekonomické skupiny obyvatelstva spočtené z dat šetření Mikrocensus 2002. Třetí kapitola analyzuje citlivost výsledků na volbu dvou hlavních parametrů indikátoru ? procenta mediánu příjmu pro stanovení hranice chudoby a stupnice spotřebních jednotek použité pro přepočet disponibilních příjmů domácností. Kromě obvyklého srovnání několika referenčních hodnot je navrženo použití parametrického přístupu a empirických citlivostních křivek jako vhodného nástroje pro analýzu vývoje hodnoty indikátoru v závislosti na parametrech v jeho definici. Závěrečná část práce se pak věnuje vlastnostem odhadu míry ohrožení chudobou jako statistické veličiny a dopady, které tyto vlastnosti mohou mít na jeho interpretaci a používání.

Commented translation: Selected paintings from the Museum Picasso in Paris (Picasso au musée Picasso, Tableaux choisis)

The bachelor's dissertation, commented translation Selected paintings from the Museum Picasso in Paris (Picasso au musée Picasso, Tableaux choisis) consists of a practical and a theoretical part. The practical one is presented by selected chapters from a French educative and instructional publication focused on the interpretation of several Pablo Picasso's paintings exhibited in the Paris Museum Picasso that preserves an important collection of Picasso's works. The theoretical part is formed by a commentary on translation in which the author starts by analysing the initial text. Then she continues by studying the process of translation, giving examples of individual translation problems and explaining different choices of solution. Despite of atemporality and universality of the text, the author deliberates on the cultural and social differences between the French and the Czech recipient of the text. At the end, the author tries to give arguments for encouraging the adoption of certain French stylistic usages.

Fisheries policy: Analysis of Economics policy in Fisheries for Economic Development in selected countries

The aim of thesis is to examine the impact of fisheries policy on sustainable growth of sources of fish stocks and the economic growth of three selected countries: New Zealand, Peru and Japan in time period since 1990 to 2013. The theoretical part defines basic concepts, strategies and policies. This section explains the right, wealth or culture based management models of fisheries. The practical part is focused on analysing influence of fisheries on economic growth and its indicators in the period of 1990 to 2013 for selected countries. This thesis analyses the situation of fisheries, including historical development, current situation and the importance of fishing in the selected economies. In this part the thesis presents investigation of the effectiveness of various policies and subsequently comments recommendations for improving the situation of fisheries in the future. The work is performed by using descriptive, comparative and factorial analysis and using data published by statistical offices, ministries of selected areas and international organizations such as FAO, UN and OECD.
