Analysis of flood situation 2002 in the district of Lužnice river - near the village Majdalena.
ZÁVODSKÁ, Pavlína
Floods in 2002, in the village of Majdalena specifically, directly touched the lives of many families. The flood wave destroyed the village citizens´ possessions and property and what was not destroyed, that was seriously damaged. Water is a powerful element one can not exist without, but if it affects human lives and causes damage, the human psyche is scarred for a very long time. "Analysis of the 2002 flood situation in the Lužnice River - near the village of Majdalena" deals with the course of flood conditions, the resolution of consequences and the subsequent measures. The main goal is to determine the current status of flood protection in the river Lužnice near the village of Majdalena, the partial goal is to analyze the flood situation in 2002 from the point of view of intervening components and the area administration. The first part deals with flooding in general. Various flood levels and their subsequent resolutions are described. After the 2002 floods, a number of analyses of these catastrophic floods causes were worked out. The meteorological forecasting method was enhanced, the measures to improve forecasting, warning and alert services were suggested. Area administrators try to raise towns and villages flood resistance with the help of subsidies. The intervention was subsequently analyzed from the point of view of intervening units, public administration and citizens. The second part mostly deals with the specific analysis of the extent of flood situation in the sandpit of Majdalena. The detailed analysis showed that the reservoir dam had been designed according to the technical parameters standard for a given time. And only the competent decision-making of the involved bodies of the region and its municipalities and the experience gained after the floods in 1997 in Moravia was a very important contribution to mitigate the consequences of flooding and to avoid the loss of human lives. At the conclusion of the thesis you can ask a hypothetical question: Is it possible to clearly, accurately and quickly predict the impending disaster as a result of unexpected natural changes? Flood control measures may be as perfect as possible, but sometimes a human being stands helpless against natural elements. The events in the village of Majdalena were only one part of consequences of floods in 2002 that had affected the whole area of the South Bohemian region.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE THE IDEAL OF NASARETH FAMILY?
HOLKUP, Petr
The work deals with philosophical and theological consideration of marriage as the natural institution. It comes out of the implied hypothesis of inherent ideals of love, failthfullness and inseparability, whose fulfillment man often searches in marriage. The theoretical part describes marriage and family from the point of view of the Christian ethics. It characterizes the sacramental and the non-sacramental marriages, looks for common ideas and points out their differences. It touches also the problems of contemporary families e.g. abortion, fertility and divorce rate. The practical part includes the results of the survey among the present-day young people about their ideals of Christian marriage. Then it analyses the birth registry entries for the period of 1993{--}1998 in Pelhřimov and its surroundings and compares the church marriages to the civil ones from the point of view of their divorce rate and the number of the children born in these marriages. The conclusion of the work evaluates the results of the practical part, compares it with the countrywide surveys and answers the introductory question of this work: if is possible to live the ideal of Nasareth family.

What can be built in the largest city block in Brno?
Hlaváčková, Soňa ; Rudiš, Viktor (referee) ; Hybská, Bohumila (advisor)
The chosen solution is based on a significant element of the axis intersecting the studied area and allows for new possibilities and throughput bottlenecks as well as the needs of indigenous residents. The new structure is compact but permeable, is one of total serenity set into court. Buildings define its own square on which the park. Living rooms are oriented to this element, as generated by the spontaneous dvorcům compared to the other, where we are going gardens. Old and new buildings mainly divided foliage, to a greater extent original. Height was chosen so that does not diaphragm the existing development and that the occupant was still in touch with events in the street. Distance from the neighboring area is sufficient for satisfactory insolation. The appearance of buildings and facades in the treatment of natural materials give a greater sense of coziness.

The transformation of the "Sanftes Gesetz" by Stifter from "Studien" to "Der Nachsommer"
Balcarová, Markéta ; Zbytovský, Štěpán (referee) ; Tvrdík, Milan (advisor)
In my thesis, I focused on Adalbert Stifter's concept of nature and explored how he develops it, from his early collection of short stories Studies (Studien) to his later collection Colorful Stones (Bunte Steine) and finally in his novel entitled Indian Summer (Der Nachsommer). I also worked on identifying to what degree it was influenced by "the gentle law" (das sanfte Gesetz) , formulated in the Preface (Vorrede) to Colorful Stones. In my introduction, I attempted a summary of the Biedermeier characteristics present in Stifter's work. In addition, I touched on the traits of previous or emerging literary movements that heavily influenced Stifter, whose work is generally considered as typical of the Biedermeier movement. In order to forge links between "the gentle law" and the prose chosen for analysis, I also addressed the Preface to Colorful Stones, where "the gentle law" is conceptualised. Using the examples "big" (groß), "small" (klein) and "gentle" (sanft), I established that there is already an anticipation of "the gentle law" in Studies and that the principles of "the gentle law" can also be found in his later novel, Indian Summer. The chapter in which I follow the development of Stifter's nature concept constitutes the principal part of my thesis. I distinguish between five concepts of nature, so as...

Russian-Belarusian language interference in Belarus
Kalita, Inna ; Marvan, Jiří (advisor) ; Brandner, Aleš (referee) ; Hentschel, Gerd (referee)
The work is dedicated to the language situation in Belarus at the turn of the 20th and the 21st century. It presents the Belarusian language situation in the context of the East Slavic languages and in a more widespread, postcolonial language continuum which finds itself in a new development phase. The contemporary language situation in Belarus is characterized by historical interferential influence; an emphasis is put on its binary nature which may be found in all spheres, and demonstrates the inevitability of a complex analysis. The work deals with the degrees of the contemporary interference, touches upon the process of mutual influence and its impact on the contemporary East Slavic languages is studied on the example of the adaptation of "cerkovnoslovjanizm" (the language of the Orthodox Church). The aim of the work is to present a common language situation in Belarus which has been developing in the situation of asymmetrical bilingual direction. Anyway, the work doesn't claim to describe all the characteristics concerning language interference in Belarus. The real contemporary bilingual situation is described. The level of speech interference is analyzed in detail. "Trasyanka", as the type of the language used in Belarus, is described in a special chapter and it is focused at summarizing previous...

Compact City - or what new is able to yet be done in Brno among railway stations
Burešová, Magdaléna ; Točík, Eugen (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
Urban architectural study of a new part of Brno between the contemporary and the future main train station aims to create an urban space that would respect the basic principles of well-functioning living cities. The solution presented here includes the polyfunctional constructed space of a city, where the basic unit is a city "block", treated here in the extent typical for this type of study. The design utilizes two main levels. The natural terrain and the historically given level of +6m. In the latter level we encounter the pedestrian routes and the related half-private and half-public areas. Within the whole area there are allocated several "crystallized cores", i.e. the strategic focal points which are important for the whole city and hence represent suitable positions for public buildings. Closer attention is paid to the area neighbouring with the new train station, which touches upon the bank of the river Svratka.

Concept of the four seasons in Czech language
Pevná, Lucie ; Janovec, Ladislav (advisor) ; Chejnová, Pavla (referee)
The diploma thesis explores the four seasons from the view point of the linguistic picture of the world theory. The etholinguistic approach is applied in the thesis - attention is paid to the Czech-specific perception of reality especially focused on the weather and the changes of the nature in the course of the four seasons. Human perception of the change is based upon the senses - the sense of hearing, the sense of smell, and touch and the eyesight. Each season is unique. The seasons can be differentiated by their season specific stereotypes, season prototypes, and connotations. On the linguistic pictures of each season collocations are built, from which new lexical items originate, describing the season as such. Due to anthropocentrism we perceive individual astronomical and meteorological issues as personified items to which we ascribe human behaviour and human qualities. The motto of the thesis says: "I will not do the spring sowing next year. " The motto denotes the interaction of two conceptual schemata (the scheme of a cycle and the scheme of a journey) realizing the fact that the natural cycle corresponds in our mental representation with the phases of human life. The difference between the concepts is that man always reaches the terminal point of his journey unlike the nature constantly...
