Jesus in the Koran; with Regards to Islamic As Well As Christian Traditions and the Person of Virgin Mary
Hemala, Jan ; Jandejsek, Petr (advisor) ; Lyčka, Milan (referee)
Different perception of the person of Jesus Christ remains to be among the most frequent and challenging questions of the dialogue between Christianity and Islam. Intention of this work is therefore to introduce at least basic elements of qur'ānic christology, i. e. the peculiar "word" of the Qur'ān about identity and mission of Jesus. It follows the fascinating process by which one religious tradition or culture adopted and assimilated the towering figure of another tradition and embraced it in its own conceptions of history of prophecy and of revelation from God. It further compares controversial attitudes of the Qur'ān (and let us say of Islam generally), such as refutation of Christian dogmas of the divinity of Jesus or the Holy Trinity, with creeds and statements of Christian christology; it devotes special attention to the person and story of Virgin Mary either. Within its explanation the work attempts to search out eventual origins or sources of the specific Islamic appreciation of Jesus, especially in Christian, canonical or apocryphal traditions. To emphasize the significance which is attributed to the mission of Jesus by Islamic orthodoxy and ordinary believers the essay refers also to the perspectives and narrations of later Islamic tradition which embellishes and elaborates qur'ānic indications...

Homelessness In Gender Perspective
ROKOSOVÁ, Michaela
Gender is often understood as social sex; it points to the culturally conditioned differences between men and women. An important part of gender is gender characteristics, i.e. typical characteristics attributed to men and women. Gender identity is acquired through the cultural social environment that an individual lives in. It refers to the differences in characteristics and in men's and women's perceptions of various life situations. For the terms 'homeless person' and 'homelessness', there are no exact definitions; nevertheless, many experts strive to capture the essence of this phenomenon. One such definition states that a homeless person is an individual without permanent housing or with no possibility of using a shelter of any kind in the long term. More exact definition can be found in the ETHOS typology, in which the homeless are classified into four categories: rooflessness, houselessness, living in insecure housing, and living in inadequate housing. The aim of my research was to find out the basic differences in men's and women's perceptions of being homeless, especially from the perspective of a career, health and social contexts, relationships to family, social bonds, etc. To meet the aim of the research, three research questions were raised. The first question aimed to find out how men and women became homeless. The second question focused on their current life, asking what aspect of homelessness they consider the most problematic. The third question focused on their future life. The research has shown differences in perceptions, especially for the first question. Women had lived with their families, partners, or friends before losing their homes, and the loss of these people made them homeless. Men, by contrast, had lived alone, and for most of them, the primary cause of losing their homes was the loss of their jobs. This thesis shows that the gender perspective offers an interesting view on the homelessness phenomenon, which could help people working in direct contact with the homeless.

Ratislav, Jakub ; Tyll, Ladislav (advisor) ; Žádník, Josef (referee)
This study presents and analyses opinions of 5 seasoned professional M&A advisers on merger failures. It integrates the perspectives of business strategy, economics, finance, organisation theory, and HR management on performance and success factors of mergers and acquisitions. The author modelled the factors of M&A failures and interplay between them into an integrative framework based on thematic analysis of participants' narratives. To ensure research validity, the author triangulated findings with existing literature. In conclusion, the author identified three major themes across data -- potential for dis-synergies stemming from misalignment of merging businesses, knowledge and planning efforts as a determinant of strategic rationale and post-merger integration, and psychological factors influencing key decision-makers.

Částková, Ivana ; Pavelková, Isabella (advisor) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (referee)
This final paper focuses on high school senior's motivation and their future time perspective. I will attempt to describe the students' motivation in general, not only their educational motivation. I will endeavor to ascertain such things as if the students can already envision their future education and profession; and, if they are more ambitious about their career versus raising a family. This paper has two sections: the theoretic and the research. The theoretic component describes the adolescent and early adulthood periods of the students' lives. It also discusses most of the major changes in their life at this time. This section will also concentrate on the students' perception of time. I wrote about the historical perception of time and the theory of motivation, and analyzed how they are related to the behavior and motivation of juveniles. The emphasis is on the perception of psychological time and the subjectivity of time. I also relate the main concepts of life-span psychology. The theoretic part functions as the crucial building block for the research section. The research was done February to March of 2006 in Prague.
