An Analysis of Reasons for Placing Children in Establishments Intended for the Execution of Constitutional and Protective Care
ŠUSTOVÁ, Lucie
My Diploma work is called ``Reasons for Children´s Placement in Institutional and Correctional Facilities``. The aim of the work was to find out and analyse why children were transferred into the facilities of institutional and correctional education and to map all legal measures which could procede. The theoretical part deals with socio-pathological phenomena in families, legal framework of placing children in special-care facilities, children´s social and legal security, different school institutions and their inmates´ rights and duties as well as psychological impact of institutional care on children´s development. In the practical part a method of quantitative sociological research, a secondary data analysis, has been used. The research database consisted of all children who were placed in any special-care facility as a result of court-ordered institutional and correctional education, preliminary measures or parent agreed-to placement in an diagnostic institute. Three hypotheses based on the professional literature findings were defined. 1. The main reason why children are placed in institutional facilities is a dysfunctional family where the children´s education is threatened by some sociopathological phenomena. 2. Children are mostly placed in the institutional facilities aged 12 {--} 15. 3. The fact schools do not solve the behavioural problems in children in the long term affects negatively more than one quarter of institutionalised children. The first hypothesis was not confirmed while the other two were.

Refusing of vaccination in the Vysočina region in the period 2010 - 2013
PALÁTOVÁ, Ilona
Vaccination in the Czech Republic has had a long tradition, belonging to the basic care within the paediatric prevention. It is a very effective protection for children and adults not only from infectious diseases but also their consequences. In these modern times, however, there are some voices questioning the usefulness and importance of mandatory vaccination. Fighting for its abolition comes from individuals as well as from organized groups that call the vaccination to be unethical, immoral and inhuman. The most common reason to refuse the vaccination is the belief that some vaccinations are not necessary. This issue is increasingly becoming the subject of many discussions, so I see it very topical.

Vondrušková, Josefína ; Ortová, Marie (advisor) ; Růžička, Vít (referee)
The topic of my work: to use the Waldorf pedagogical educational system in free-time activities, or is it possible to use the Waldorf pedagogical educational system in scouting system? This is the reason why in my work I am trying to compare the approach of Steinerov's pedogogical system and scouting methods in upbringing children. The goal of my work is to find compatable elements and different disputes of both systems and by this find out if it is possible to apply the Waldorf system in scouting practices. My work, most of all is based on long terms work and experience in scouting groups and the Waldorf systems is based on theoretical information found in professional and available literature. I deal, mainly, with children's current wishes and demands for free-time activities, and hence at the same time I am trying to find a possibility to modernize scouting upbringing and practices in order for the center to be more interesting especially for children. One of the possibilities I see is found especially in this form of educational system. After stating the requirments for free-time activity I try to completely characterize the current methods, individually important of the area in preactice. In a similar way, I describe walsorfskou pedagogicu and antroposophical approach to the upbriniging. In the last...

Hrnčíř, Luděk ; Vokoun, Rudolf (advisor) ; Vanduchová, Marie (referee)
RÉSUMÉ The work presented is a Master thesis completed at the Criminal law department under theLaw faculty of the Charles' University. It deals with recidivism, its causes and prerequisites of its occurrence. Preventive activities in the Czech republic are also a part of this project. Emphasis is put especially ontertiary preventive activities, namely working with people who have commited crime before. Postpenitential care plays an important role here, especially the problems of returning the convicted person into normal life. For synoptic reasons, the text also contains the overview of the Czech legal regulations, especially the standards of the criminal law. The standards of the social security law, which determine the system made by the state for people exposed to social exclusion, are also dealt with here. Apart from the national legislative, the international regulations are also mentioned here, although they are rather informal recommendations of the EU. A special chapter is devoted to Czech prison system. Bajcura, Lubomír ; Šotolová, Eva (advisor) ; Sochůrek, Jan (referee) ; Černíková, Vratislava (referee)
In the year 2007 for the Prison Service of the Czech Republic the new treatment program for offenders of commercially motivated sexual abuse of children became preferred. Community is very focused on this area of criminality. In 2007 there were 1 205 of abuse of children. Getting over the long-standing taboo has criminological consequences, which has been confirmed by records on sexual abuse and maltreatment in personal files of dangerous offenders. Therefore, special treatment with offenders of sexual abuse of children represents part of the fight against the most serious criminality and contributes to protection to the most vulnerable members of our community. Commercially motivated sexual abuse of children has been frequently accomplished through a third person that uses pressure or violence on a child. That is why offenders deny their guilt before both the community and their own conscience. The standardized program should guide an offender towards recognition of reasons and consequences of his/her criminal activities. The research part of this thesis concentrates on how the program is perceived by both the offenders and the realization team. The huge potential of the educational part of the program, where facts and theoretical information on the specific criminal activities play the formative role, was...

School phobia
ŘEHÁČKOVÁ, Irena
When we are thinking about entering the system of compulsory education in future, we project an image about how it should be like, about our future schoolmates, and then there comes the greatest surprise of all the teacher. Unfortunately, not everybody reaches the end of their time spent in school with success and without difficulties. The daughters of my respondents suffer from school phobia, which illustrates these issues. The topic of my thesis is School phobia. These issues may arise out of several causes. The child may be anxious not only about the school environment and associated dangers that await him or her there, but also about the teacher that might have made an inappropriate comments about the child. One of the other factors contributing to this phobia is separation anxiety. Child that suffers from separation anxiety cannot be separated from his or her mother. It is not only the child who may suffer from separation anxiety. This issue might be also rooted in the personality of mother or father. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide real-life information from mothers bringing up a child suffering from school phobia. Their testimonies should be able to provide an overview of the issues surrounding children with school phobia ? its origin, course of the disorder and, in the case of these particular respondents, also still to-be-solved treatment from health care specialists. This bachelor thesis is based on qualitative research. The collected information was acquired from answers from personal face-to-face semi-structured discussions with mothers of affected children. The beginning of the theoretical part of my diploma thesis focuses on general definition of basic concepts and topics associated with school phobia. What follows is a separate chapter dealing in detail with school phobia. This section focuses, among others, on the reasons for school phobia occurring caused by both parents and school staff. The topic of penultimate chapter is family. For example, I describe the family atmosphere-The last chapter deals with school and school maturity. What is also mentioned is the issue of bullying that may have a negative impact on school phobia. The research goal of the empirical part of this bachelor thesis is as to discover the ways parents and educators use to identify issues associated with school phobia in children, their approach towards this phobia and solutions. To achieve this goal, I have asked three key research questions: 1)How do parents identify school phobia issues in children? 2)What kind of approach parents adopt towards pupils suffering from school phobia? 3)What methods proved to be successful in dealing with school phobia issues? The answers to these research questions can be found in Interpretace výsledků (Interpretation of results) chapter that contains a lot of interesting information. One piece of interesting information is, for example, that while the causes of school phobia in daughters of my respondents were different, the issues associated with gradual development of school phobia have almost the same origins connected mainly to psychosomatical symptoms. The attitude of questioned mothers to their daughters´ issues is almost the same, and this also applies to the major and key attitude towards accepting the existence of their daughter´s school phobia and providing psychological support from family. The ways mothers tried to solve the issues connected to school phobia are also the same as far as the number of health care specialists they thought might help them are concerned. For all three daughters of respondents the situation is as follows: none of the said health care specialist was able to come with a reliable cure to school phobia.

Zibner, Rahel ; Svoboda, Karel (advisor) ; Ledeneva, Alena (referee)
This research deals with irregular female migration from Ukraine to Italy for employment as caregivers to the elderly. The main questions to be addressed are: 'What are the reasons for Ukrainian women to migrate irregularly to such a large extent to Italy? Which important aspects are connected to their employment as a caregiver to the elderly from the individual point of view of Ukrainian women? In this thesis I want to explain the reasons for Ukrainian women to take up work as irregular caregivers in Italy, giving insight into the organization of daily life of irregular Ukrainian care givers. Practical examples will be given that examine the help women receive from Ukrainian professional and private networks. Despite information gaps, the combination of expert and migrant interviews in combination with the analysis of research studies and secondary sources produced important findings on this topic. Firstly, irregular female migration is economically motivated and women are driven to Italy through specific push and pull factors. Secondly, employment and daily life as a caregiver to the elderly in Italy entails economic advantages, but psychological disadvantages for Ukrainian women. 1

Problems of Oral Communication with Pupils from Minority Groups in Mathematics Lessons for Children from the Ages of Five to Eight
Fonferová, Eva ; Kaslová, Michaela (advisor) ; Šotolová, Eva (referee)
The diploma work maps difficulties with an understanding of words which express a mutual position of objects. Children from minority groups use a different structure of speech. It may be a reason of a communication misunderstanding and problems with mathematical tasks and excercises. We use special activities to test differences between Romany and Czech languages. And we test how these differences work when pupils do some exercises. It could be a basis for an individual approach to pupils from minority groups which could make a beginning of education of these children easier. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
