The submitted thesis aims to scan the written communication among the city councils of royal towns in the period before the Battle of the White Mount, particularly the correspondence among the New Town of Prague and Royal Towns in the Central Part of Polabí, explicitly Český Brod, Kolín, Kouřim, Kutná Hora and Nymburk. The research was based mainly on 20 town registers of the period and on the extant scripts which enabled me to set up both the communication process and particular agents. Thus we were offered the insight into the townhall, its offices, circumstances of the origin of missivs, we observed individual characters and institutions involved in the negotiation procedures. We came across the issue of messenger service mediating the delivery and last but not least we were concerned about receiving correspondence, its interpretation at the time and the content of discussed matters. Another issue we dealt with was the terminology ie. definition of written communication, diplomacy terminology, especially register issue defined as supplemental office book in publishers'offices containing the office scripts. The written communication of the perion represents just one component of wide range of ties occuring in the corporate society. The most significant role was represented by the city council the...

Rašín, Robin ; Chromý, Pavel (advisor) ; Kupková, Lucie (referee) ; Kubeš, Jan (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Science Department of Social Geography and Regional Development Robin Rašín The Landscape of the Czech-Austrian Borderland: Development and Heritage Summary Roztoky u Křivoklátu 2010 1 Landscape is a key geographical concept and geographical research on land change and land use has a tradition that can be dated back for almost a hundred years. The development of the subject orientation of land change science can be divided into two phases. (i) During the first phase (50's/60's of the 20th century) the description of landscape and its morphology (structure) were at the centre of research interest along with the research of the potential for agro-production. This particular type of study was motivated by the need to find a solution to the problem of the increasing inability to supply a growing (European) population with agricultural products. (ii) In the second phase (circa from 70's of the 20th century), the attention of scientists towards the accelerated rate of land change on a global scale that can be associated with: the increase of human population, changes in agricultural techniques, mining, environmental exploitation et cetera. There is an obvious need to solve the negative impacts of the human activities on the landscape at different scales (from local to...

Production activities at early Roman-Germanic settlements in Bohemia
Grmela, Libor ; Bouzek, Jan (referee) ; Venclová, Natalie (advisor)
Svobodné Germánie a s tím spojené studium socioekonomických otázek, přispěje...

The Use of Guerilla in Culture
Mitošinková, Barbora ; Černá, Jitka (advisor) ; Krejčí, Hana (referee)
The main topic of my bachelor thesis is the use of guerilla in culture and my research objective is to find out whether there exist assumptions, reasons, and inspirational positive experience supporting the use of guerrilla marketing in cultural organizations. I try to analyze guerrilla marketing in the context of cultural organizations and its possible application with respect to the decreasing efficiency of traditional marketing. Because of the strong interdependence between guerrilla and traditional marketing I explore this relationship by means of the marketing mix. Then I present the results of the survey based on responses from cultural organizations, contributory organizations in particular. The questions addressed to cultural organizations were focused on their knowledge of guerrilla marketing and their current, past or planned use of guerrilla marketing. I present two case studies: one from Italy, the other one from the Czech Republic to show inspirational and positive experience with guerrilla. In conclusion I deal with preparation, implementation and evaluation of my own guerrilla campaign. My desire to contribute to the discussion about guerrilla marketing in culture is, among other things, motivated by my personal favor and preference of imaginative, unique and functional marketing.

Účinky xenobiotik na oxidační stres, metabolizmus lipidů, integritu DNA a životaschopnost lidských buněk a rybích spermií in vitro
LINHARTOVÁ, Pavla
Pollution of the aquatic environment by inorganic and organic chemicals is a major factor posing a serious threat to the survival of aquatic organisms including fish. In addition balancing risks and benefits of fish consumption is nowadays an intensively discussed public health topic. Spermatozoa of almost all fish species are released into water environment where they can be directly exposed to various compounds, such as xenobiotics including toxic metals, prior to fertilization. In addition, exposure of parental adults to various xenobiotics may affect gamete quality, which may subsequently reduce fertilization success. On the other hand the advantages of eating fish are well-known, not only in the point that fish is a healthy source of protein and other nutrients, but eating contaminated fish may also confer various health benefits. Research over the past few decades has shown that the nutrients and particularly the n-3 fatty acids (FA) found in fish and seafood, are for examples protective against cardiac diseases and have a positive impact on brain development. The thesis provides a focus on two different cell model types. Firstly, human hepatocellular cells (Hep G2, ATCC) were used as in vitro tool for studying the effect of the intake of cadmium (Cd2+) contaminated fish on cytotoxicity, oxidative stress and fatty acid and phospholipid class compositions. Secondly, spermatozoa of one threatened species of fish, sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus) were used as in vitro model for studying effect of potentially hazardous xenobiotic compounds' occurring in open waters. Sperm from sterlet were exposed for 2h to environmentally relevant concentrations of DQ (0-150
