Functional characteristics of broiler chickens and final hybrids
VÁCHOVÁ, Petra
Poultry meat is in the range of basic human nutrition. In human nutrition has a significant position mainly due to its composition. It is especially valuable for high-quality protein. They are very easily digested and contain all the essential amino acids. Aim of this study was a comprehensive analysis of the level of commercial properties in broiler chickens and their final hybrids. The analysis can bring about recommendations for breeders in the selection of suitable hybrid combinations in our conditions. Parental self-test forms consisted of rearing parents until the age of 154 days, the laying period of 280 days and four sub-fattening progeny tests. Rearing, laying and fattening progeny took place in the hall without windows, with deep bedding with controlled lighting and air conditioning regimen. The tests were performed 4 sub-fattening progeny tests using a load of 17.2 units chickens/1m2, length of fattening period was 35 days. The data were obtained with the consent of management of the primary data a comprehensive report of international tests and parental forms of broiler fattening sub-tests carried out in the final hybrid MTD Ústrašice for the years 1995 to 2009. These tests were made by MTD and methodology based on the guidelines for the implementation of performance tests of poultry. The data obtained were classified, summarized, and then the variation statistically using STATISTICA version 6. By comparing the results obtained from the parents and fattening tests it can be stated that, overall, the best combinations were Ross 308 and Cobb 500.

Coca growing as a factor of Bolivian politics and economy
Šanda, Milan ; Pavlík, Petr (advisor) ; Jeníček, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis is devoted to coca cultivation in Bolivia and the impact of that activity on internal and economic affairs. Because of the overlap of these issues to the international environment it analyzes the current international anti-drug strategy, it's impacts and alternatives. Using different levels of analysis - from the international system to individuals - explores the interaction between them and it's implications on each other.

Social differentiation of active sport participation in the Czech Republic
Špaček, Ondřej
Active sport participation (as a part of leisure time) is social differentiated activity. High level of active sport participation in higher strata of society is supported by theoretical thoughts and empirical findings. This contribution shows that in spite of the growth of the net level of sport participation in the Czech Republic between years 1984, 1991 and 2007, deep differentiation between different strata persists. Detailed analysis of the current situation considers importance of horizontal and vertical social characteristics of respondents in relation to their sport participation. Age and gender are significant determinants of sport participation, as well as education of respondents and the educational environment of the family of origin (education of father).

The effect of analgesics and their combination with neurotropic drugs on pain and brain mediators
Soukupová, Marie ; Kršiak, Miloslav (advisor) ; Farghali, Hassan (referee) ; Rokyta, Richard (referee)
The first aim was to investigate changes in analgesic efficacy of several analgesics in combination with selected drugs affecting nervous system after systemic administration. The second aim was to ascertain changes of levels of pain mediators in vivo in supraspinal brain structures (in periaqueductal gray matter, central amygdala, striatum) in pain and under the drug influence. The analgesic efficacy of combinations of analgesics with neurotropic drugs was investigated in the writhing test in mice. Interactions between analgesics and neurotropic drugs were evaluated by the isobolographic analysis, which enables to distinguish the supra-additive (synergistic) interactions from solely additive and sub-additive ones. A possible negative effect of neurotropic drugs on motor functions was determined in the rota-rod test in mice. Changes of levels of pain mediators in the brain during pain and under the drug influence in rats were measured by microdialysis in vivo coupled with a high performance liquid chromatography. A model of inflammatory pain induced by intraplantar injection of carrageenan and a model of neuropathic pain produced by a spared sciatic nerve injury model were used in rats. We evaluated pain in plantar and von Frey filament test. Our microdialysis experiments revealed that inflammatory pain...

Expansion strategy of Russia's Gazprom into European market and European counteraction policy
Khayrullaev, Andrey ; Svoboda, Karel (advisor) ; Binhack, Petr (referee)
Author: Andrey Khayrullaev Title of the Thesis: EXPANSION STRATEGY OF RUSSIA'S GAZPROM INTO EUROPEAN MARKET AND EUROPEAN COUNTERACTION POLICY Year of defence: 2012 ABSTRACT In the period of globalization, energy security has substantial implications for the mutual security of supply and demand. It is dependent on several factors as security of supply, resilience and interdependence. As the result, multi-national corporations controlling wide energy resources are becoming more and more involved in the international politics - the situation when supplier is not just one of the contractual parities but "tool" for political pressure of its host state. Russian Gazprom, which operates on European natural gas market, is the vivid example of such situation. The research project is based on a deep review of relevant literature sources using the data analyzing, comparative analysis and the case study methods. The main research questions are the following: are European "fears" justified and what are the perspectives for Europe to decrease its dependency on Russian natural gas export? The main conclusions to be drawn from this study are that Europe has full grounds to be against growing dependence on Gazprom, taking into account Gazprom's involvement into politics, its aggressive actions directed toward prevention of...

Analysis of noise characteristics of radioactive emission detectors
Šik, Ondřej ; Pfeifer, Václav (referee) ; Andreev, Alexey (advisor)
The main goal of this Master’s thesis is to describe relationship between low frequency noise spectral characteristics of Cadmium-Telluride radiation detectors depending on applied voltage and detectors reaction to illumination of various wavelengths. Also, the reaction and influence of higher operating temperatures were investigated. The noise measurements shown that the dominant noise type at low frequencies is the 1/f noise. Several samples with different resistivity were tested. By comparing results, we are able to estimate the quality of detectors and their sensibility to illumination and higher operating temperatures. We have found that all the studied CdTe detectors are sensitive to one particular wavelength of 548nm. Resulting data were processed by EasyPlot program that provided graphical representation of spectral noise characteristics. All measured characteristics of tested samples are compared and it’s estimated the similarity between the samples.

Study of CdTe sensor properties
Vašíček, Martin ; Holcman, Vladimír (referee) ; Grmela, Lubomír (advisor)
This Bachelor Thesis is focused on studies of CdTe detector characteristics. It is to describe the analysis of transport and noise characteristics of CdTe samples at different temperatures. Evaluation of our results proves that CdTe junction behaves like an antiseries connection of a pair of diodes. The courses of VA characteristics are noted for linear or slightly exponential growth. When temperature is growing , conductivity of the samples is growing too. Our measurements demonstrated difference in conductivity of samples tested at the same temperature. It is also obvious that within very low range of frequencies the factor of noise 1/f is dominating. From 10Hz frequency the effect of thermal noise prevails.
