Evaluation of landscape permeability and migration potential - A Case Study on the motorway D10
Novák, Libor ; Keken, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kušta, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis deals with the influence of technical barriers to accidents with wild animals. On the highway D10 during the years 2006-2014 a total of 598 accidents with animals happened. Six categories of barriers were determine: 1) no barrier, 2) metal guardrails, 3) concrete dividers, 4) reinforced metal guardrails, 5) noise barrier wall, 6) fence, which had been given spatial location during the field survey. The paper also addressed the impact of urbanized areas and created the density of accidents per 1 km of the highway. The results show that there was no evidence for an effect of technical barriers (p = 0.73164). An analysis of accidents density implies some hotspots where there is > 19 accidents / km.

Within the first part I have summarized the most important of theoretical knowledge about PPP. At the beginning define the basic facto related to topic of PPP, specify what PPP is, outline theoretical possibilities of systematical use of PPP, and define basic characteristics, basic types of PPP, advantages and disadvantages of PPP, at the end theoretical development of PPP project. Within the next part I would like to introduce the ongoing PPP project for construction of highways and fast highways in Slovakia. I will analyse the project, mainly from the financial perspective, outline the impact on state budget during the duration of the project and compare the financing by PPP vs. PSC. In the end of my bachelor project I would like to underline success and failure of PPP projects in other foreign countries.

Construction Business Opportunities in Selected Central and Eastern European Countries
Vacek, Jiří ; Černohlávková, Eva (advisor) ; Přikrylová, Jana (referee) ; Horňák, Pavol (referee)
The Ph.D. thesis deals with the construction research methodology and performed research, and the analysis of business opportunities in the construction industry of the selected Central and Eastern European countries. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the description and specification of the main categories -- general market research methodology, the description and statistical methodology used by the Czech Statistical Office, and their comparison with our research methods (advantages, disadvantages, and benefits). This part also mentions specific features of construction industry which need to be taken into account when performing the research and evaluating the results for the purposes of the development of business opportunities in the construction industry. The second part of the thesis analyses the particular results of the construction industry research carried out in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary in 2006--2012 (with more than 2,500 research interviews). It brings a comparison of the Eurostat/statistical offices published data vs. the analysed developments in particular years predicted by the construction company top management (both the biggest and middle/small construction companies) throughout the analysed regions, and the impact of their predictions on the company behaviour in the selected spheres of the entrepreneur environment. The analyses bring the comparison of the methods by means of which the companies acquire new business orders, the extent of transparency and/or corruption in particular countries, changes during the economic crisis, the extent of company risk and key priorities on particular markets, as well as the comparison of the key limitations that have the main impact on the economic results of the construction company. Using the originally developed methodology and the model of research implementation, the thesis provides the analyses of considerably reliable information about the operation and behaviour of the construction companies on the market in the neighbouring countries, as well as the necessary insight which can facilitate the expansion of the Czech companies into the selected countries. At the same time, the construction research model has been verified in practice by regular construction research studies which assist construction companies in their decision making and orientation on the changeable construction markets both in the Czech Republic and in other selected countries. The outcomes and results of particular research studies have been presented and discussed during the regular 'Encounters of Czech, Slovak, and Polish Construction Leaders' by the construction company top management as well as by the representatives of the government of particular countries. The thesis outcomes prove that the originally developed methodology applied in the follow-up research can facilitate and provide relevant and high-quality predictions about the developments in construction industry, which can be successfully used by the top management in their decisions on the future prospects of their company business opportunities in Central and Eastern European countries. Currently, more than 4,700 users in the Czech Republic make use of the particular research studies on the developments in construction in the Czech Republic and in other selected countries. As results from the carried out research, it is possible for the Czech construction companies to make use of business opportunities and to expand to neighbouring countries, especially to Slovakia and Poland, and, with regard to geographical closeness of the researched markets and considerable similarity of construction works/applied technologies, thus compensate for a plunge in domestic orders by the export of construction works. Specialized construction companies with higher business value-added will have the biggest potential.

Analysis of D1 Motorway Influence on Regional Development of Humpolec after 1989: Comparison of Socio-economic Factors to Chotěboř
Mikula, Karel ; Marada, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kraft, Stanislav (referee)
The relationship between regional development and traffic infrastructure is one of the most frequent question among scientist and even publics at present time. On the other hand there are very few qualitative publications in the Czech republic that deals with this topic. This diploma work deals with the impact of highway infrastructure on regional development. Main part of this work is case study that examines the impact of D1 motorway on Humpolec down after 1989 and compares the results to the reference town Chotěboř. These analysis are based on quasi-experimental method and explore several different socio-economic indicators, especially indicators dealing with companies. The results of this exploration are supported by the questionnaire which has more informative character due to its low recoverability. Based on the analysis, we have proved that D1 has positive impact on Humpolec, especially on companies and employment. This aspects along with good local authorities and other factors have ignited widespread regional development of Humpolec. We can state that D1 motorway was one of the most important factors of regional development in town.

Geological Survey and Archaeogeophysical Prospection at Historical Silver Mining Sites Located in Routes of Linear Buildings in the Czech Republic
Hašek, Vladimír ; Krajíc, R. ; Ondra, K.
Projected roads in the Czech Republic often cross areas affected by previous intensive mining of precious metals (gold, silver), the ground and underground mining has left behing a range of relics in form of various morphological depressions, occasionally folloved by relict of other objects linked to mining. In order to prevent emergence situations a complex of geophysical methods and drilling works is employed. This complex is an integral part of both geological research and rescue archeological research in these region. In order to demonstrate the practical usage of the disciplines mentioned above, we describe the prospection of highway route D between Mezno and Chotoviny in Tábor district, and ringroad I/38 in Jihlava.

Impact of urban sprawl on the environment and analysis of soil sealing along the D5 highway
Keprta, Antonín ; Chuman, Tomáš (advisor) ; Šefrna, Luděk (referee)
Sub/urbanization is one of the major factors affecting the environment. Moving population and economic activities to suburb isn't always an idyllic process, but often brings many difficulties. Impacts on the natural environment are often enormous. Degradation of air quality and water quality, soil sealing and soil degradation etc. are just some of the impacts of urban sprawl on the environment. Among others include homogenization of biota, landscape fragmentation, introduction of alien species, or light and noise pollution. Pressure on the agricultural land is made by large appropriation of land and through impervious surfaces. The study evaluates the appropriation of land along the D5 highway with areas of commercial sub/urbanization. Traffic routes through the perfect time availability are the places with the greatest concentration of commercial areas today. The study showed that new commercial areas are built on the most fertile soils. Therefore the question is whether the protection of soils in the Czech Republic is sufficient. Unfinished and often missing plans of territory make often the situation even worse. Keywords: sub/urbanization, urban sprawl, pollution, soil sealing, soil protection

Impacts of the Structural Funds of the European Union on examples of microregions Tachov
Kluch, Radek ; Abrhám, Josef (advisor) ; Tunkrová, Věra (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the effect of drawing funds from structural funds of EU to specific areas of the Czech Republic which is the region Tachov and micro-regions, which are located there. A sub-goal is to determine whether the observed micro-regions fulfill its role in the region, and whether there are other forms of small regional groups which are able to effectively draw and allocate financial resources from EU funds. The first part is a concise definition of regional policy and its implementation in the Czech Republic accompanied by a description of EU funds, which goes from support to the regions. The next section is characterized by the region Tachovsko and its micro-regions. The area is analyzed from both an economic and social terms and is conducted SWOT analysis. Next chapter deals with the operational programs that are relevant for the investigated area. The central part deals with the evaluation of projects in the both programming period, in 2004-2006 and in 2007-2013. It created a comprehensive overview of all completed and ongoing projects that are examining the impact of utilization of EU funds. Base on these findings are suggested for the region and both micro-regions for one thing in the drawing of funds EU and for another in activities in the field of micro-regions.
