The Social Construcion of Mental Illness - Historical Changes during Middle Ages and Early Modern Times
Sklenařík, Pavel ; Paulíček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kotlík, Pavel (referee)
The present thesis deals with the phenomenon of madness in the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Age. The author describes the function of madness in the context of each historical period by way of examining the historical development of the social status of the mentally ill. Various aspects of insanity as well as distinct characteristics and qualities of lunatics persons, such as gender, assets, or the actual level of mental disorder, are taken into consideration in order to demonstrate the consequently differing approaches of the sane to the insane and vice versa. The result of the historical process of the formation of the society's stance towards the lunatics and insanity in general is then transferred to the present where the discussed processes are demonstrated on real examples. Insanity is viewed through the prism of social constructivism. In line with the view that insanity, as a social construction, is a product of discourse, one of the present work deals with the dispute on the right of defining insanity whose result influenced the inception of psychiatry as a discipline as well as the current attitude of the society with respect to insanity.

In both compared legislations, cooperative has its special character and long-standing tradition, which was introduced immediately in the introductory sections. The cooperative sector is the merit of this work. The issue of housing is always up to date, moreover, in practice we many time encounter with the uncertainties associated with the housing issue. Cooperative law in the area of housing is interesting in particular, with regard to incompleteness, and, in some cases, to insufficiency of Czech legislation, distinguish it from, more or less, consistent realization of housing cooperatives in Poland. Although both legislations have similar sources and traditions, and their characteristic developments, in the field of the law the willingness of legislators to adapt an important part of ensuring significantly differs from the housing requirements of the population. In the Czech legal system is a cooperative law captured only in a few provisions of the...

The Founders of Post-Keynesianism and the Concept of Reswitching
Kraffer, Robin ; Potužák, Pavel (advisor) ; Chytilová, Helena (referee)
The thesis deals with the evolution of thoughts of Joan Robinson's, Nicholas Kaldor's, Piero Sraffa's and Luigi Pasinetti's with regards to the issue of reswitching. Discussing Robinson, Kaldor, and Sraffa, it addresses the importance of the discussion on imperfect competition and Keynes's theory for developing their opinions within the capital theory. This issue was challenged in the 50s by Robinson who asked how capital can be measured. She discovered an option of reswitching to a more capital-using technique during a wage increase, but she did not focus on it very much. The thesis also seeks the importance of Sraffa's solution to the invariant standard of value for developing the debate on reswitching the technologies in the 60s, which was joined by both Pasinetti and Robinson. However, Robinson refused again in the 70s to deem the reswitching important within the critique of the neoclassical theory, and thus joined Kaldor who had voiced similar thoughts. At the end of the thesis, the question of Robinson underestimating the importance of reswitching, as pronounced by Pasinetti, is answered - she underestimated it in the 50s, whereas it is impossible to give a clear answer when it comes to the 70s, despite the differences found among Post-Keynesians and Neo-Ricardians.

Examination of a witness in civil proceedings
Vobořilová, Tereza ; Smolík, Petr (advisor) ; Zoulík, František (referee)
62 The Examination of a Witness in Civil Proceeding RESUMÉ The theme of my paper is an examination of a witness in civil proceedings. This institute is quite common in trial by court, during the process of evidence. During the process of evidence past events are being reconstructed and means of evidence, which number isn't definite, are used. One of the means of evidence, quite a frequent one, is the mentioned examination of a witness. I chose this theme because of the branch of law which it refers to and also because this institute appears to be multispecial, as it is applied not only in civil law, but also in other fields such as psychology or sociology. Study of this issue therefore enabled me to look into these branches and so in my paper I tried to partly cover other fields as well. At the beginning of my paper I deal with development of this means of evidence, as its' usage was common long time ago. This institute was highly regarded in the old Roman law because of its' verbality. Subsequently, the written form predominated and therefore the testimony of a witness was not of such significance as documents. Over time when verbal testimony was more often used, it was again brought to the fore and by gradual historical development it gained its' current form. The witness person itself is the focal issue...

Korupce v křesťanském národě: „Ovlivňuje křesťanská víra úroveň korupce ve společnosti?“
Kraus, František ; Houdek, Petr (advisor) ; Svoboda, Miroslav (referee)
What are the determinants of corruption? This thesis builds upon contemporary approaches to assessing the level of corruption in different countries using purely economic determinants such as the aggregate income, level of education, openness to trade or taxation. This method is further enhanced by involving variables mapping the religiosity of the surveyed states as institutional determinants. Faith works as an agent that reduces selfish behavior and stresses moral values, thus it should prove to reduce corruption. The dataset involves data of 30 countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in the years 1999-2010. Two independent OLS models are set up using corruption perception indicators as endogenous variables; one with purely economic determinants, and the other with added religious determinants of corruption. Expansion of the model gives out a more robust set of results with greater determination. The results show that increasing number of Protestants in a society correlates with lower levels of corruption. The effect of the government spending on education has been considerably reduced after involving the religious variables. However, corruption does not seem to be influenced by the percentage of Christians in total population.

Progress of the system of public health insurance and health insurance companies in the Czech Republic for the period 2000 - 2015
Pecková, Tereza ; Lukášová, Tereza (advisor) ; Bartůsková, Lucia (referee)
This bachelor´s thesis analyzes the basic funds of health insurance companies for the period 2000 - 2015 in the Czech Republic, especially the creation of resources and their use and the entire system of public health insurance in the Czech Republic. Basic funds are one of the components of the overall economy of health insurance companies. First it is necessary to describe the market of the insured. The insured create and use the finances within public health insurance. Also important are contributions from the state budget for those insured by the state. We can conclude that the cost of health insurance companies are rising and that population is aging in the Czech Republic. However, this is not a balanced linear growth. The number of pensioners grew at a slower rate of growth, but according to population development forecast, there should be faster growth in the number of pensioners in the following years. Significant growth in cost is particularly noticeable in the age category of 80 and above, and increasingly more people should live up to this blessed age, also thanks to modern public health.
