Matrimony - preconditions for the occurence and consequences of its dissolution
Bartončíková, Jaroslava ; Dvořák, Jan (advisor) ; Švestka, Jiří (referee)
90 X. RÉSUMÉ In my work I deal with marriage, specifically with the conditions of its inception and the consequences of its demise. In spite of the fact that the crisis of family and marriage has been discussed extensively in the last years, marriage remains the fundament of a family and a relationship that gives birth to children. The decline of the number of marriages in the Czech Republic can be seen as being caused by the creation of a space for individualization, for free lifestyle, both in men and especially in women. Marriage is no longer regarded as an institution serving the purposes of the whole but in the future should serve mainly to individuals. One of its characteristics is the higher age of people entering into marriage, and the number of people living as lifelong singles has been increasing. Another alternative to marriage, living as partners without entering into marriage, is gaining a prominent position. It could be seen as caused also by adverse economic conditions, the growth of the costs of living, the lack in social welfare, housing etc. It is also characterized by the transition to a one-child family model. Natality has been decreasing, while the ratio of children born outside marriage has been increasing. The divorce rate has likewise been increasing. The stability of marriage,...

PROSTITUTION IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND NORWAY A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS
WALDEJER, Tereza
My thesis deals with the topic of prostitution. As a research strategy for my master thesis I have chosen qualitative research. For developing my paper I was using various research methods such as participant observation, unstructured interviews, case study and qualitative comparative analysis. My paper is based on empirical studies which I have obtained during my internship in the organization Albertine Prosjektet in Stavanger likewise on cooperation with the Czech NGO Rozkoš bez rizika in České Budějovice. My results appeared from unstructured interviews with social workers of both organizations as well as with women in prostitution, and subsequent interconnection with theoretical knowledge. My aim was to elaborate a comparative study of prostitution in the Czech Republic and Norway with predominant focus on the České Budějovice area and Stavanger area in order to present the current situation in prostitution markets. Feminist points of view play also an important role because prostitution can be explained as a gender-based phenomenon. This perspective is one of the key points of my paper.

The status of women on the labour market in Czech Republic
Skopalíková, Anna ; Chytil, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
The bachelor thesis addresses discrimination of women on the labour market in Czech Republic. Its aim is to verify hypothesises about the existence of lower mean wages of women and about the existence of discrimination of women on the labour market in Czech Republic. Oaxaca wage differential decomposition which is introduced in the theoretical part of the thesis confirmed the existence of wage differentials between the wages of men and women on the Czech labour market, in selected regions and in selected occupational fields. This confirms the hypothesis about lower mean wages of women. Oaxaca wage differentials decomposition also confirms that the wage gap can be explained in most cases up to 18 %. The second hypothesis is confirmed only partially. The discrimination of women probably exists on the labour market but it is not possible to confirm the size of it. The unexplained component of the wage gap (based on the Oaxaca decomposition) includes besides other things the discrimination coefficient. The size of this coefficient is not possible to determine. The secondary aim of the bachelor thesis is to determine the impact of individual variables on the observed wage gaps. Factors which most often influence the wage gaps are education and age.

Harásková, Michaela ; Szabová, Lucia (advisor) ; Nohál, Martin (referee)
My bachelor thesis is elaborating on the topic of opportunities of female graduates on a labour market, being seen from two different perspectives - before their maternity leave and upon a return from the maternity leave. The analysis focuses on the capital city of the Czech Republic, Prague, and is mainly devoted to the obstacles laid by women's discrimination when entering the labour market before and after their maternity leave. The topics of the attitudes of employers towards women are raised, as well as the governmental policies that are helping women to return or integrate into the work place after their maternity leave. In the conclusion of the bachelor thesis, the analysis is being evaluated and a solution to the current women job market in Prague is proposed.

Do women with children have lower wage rate than childless women?
Lukášová, Nikola ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Čermáková, Klára (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate if women with children in the Czech Republic have a lower wage rate than childless women. The data from WageIndicator Foundation was processed by using the the least squares method. The conclusion is that motherhood has a negative impact on salaries. I also found that the depreciation of human capital influences only women with two or more children. It can be caused by the lenght of maternity leave. The main finding is that the wage penalty for motherhood actually exists. And the society and politicians should give the motherhood penalty more attention in the future.

Supporting Career Development of Women after Maternity Leave with Coaching (Comparison of the Situation in the Czech Republic and Austria)
Ebhardt, Karina ; Bedrnová, Eva (advisor) ; Jarošová, Eva (referee) ; Rymeš, Milan (referee)
Objectives: The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the situation of women returning to work after maternity leave in Austria and the Czech Republic, to design a special career coaching program for them and to evaluate its effectiveness. Methods: Questionnaires, interviews and career coaching program. The sample consisted of female high school, college and university graduates returning to work after maternity leave. Results: The research showed that women tend not to advance in their careers and perceive a lack of support in career development from their employers. We found no significant differences between Austrian and Czech women regarding the length of maternity leave and strategies for coping with work/family conflicts, though they differ in their approach to career management. The career coaching program was designed according to the detailed analysis of needs of our respondents and was evaluated as very effective.
