Methods for determining aerodynamic properties of vehicles
Páleš, Patrik ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Čavoj, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is a description of methods being used for measurements of aerodynamic characteristics of automobiles. The exact determination of the aerodynamic characteristics requires sophisticated testing equipment and advanced engineering procedures. The research comprises several approaches. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is based on turbulent models application such as RANS, LES and DNS. Pressure distribution on a vehicular body surface and an air flow along the vehicle are monitored in wind tunnels. Flow visualization is carried out by optical (PIV, LDA) and non-optical methods. Experimental road testing methods are focused on multiple parameters including a vehicle directional stability, its cross-wind sensitivity, engine cooling system and many others.
Design of wind tunnel
Klusoň, Vladimír ; Sikora, Michal (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
The thesis deals with making a device for measuring air technique constants, so-called a wind tunnel. The wind tunnel is used for development of eletric machines aeration systems. Refrigeration of various types of eletric machines ( e.g. asynchronous engine ) can be tested by means of it. The thesis consists of three parts. The first part contains a description of the whole device in single components. With each the component the text concentrates on both the related general theory and a delineation of the implementation itself. The sequel part is devoted to testing the product, i.e. verification of its functionality and airtight sealing, . The third part of the thesis concludes the text by evaluation of resultant solution of the problem.

Tárnok, Gábor ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Vančura, Jan (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with the aerodynamic interaction od two vehicles, modelling in CFD software, how the vehicle behaves in leeward.
Comparison of panel codes for aerodynamic analysis of airfoils
Bilčík, Adam ; Schoř, Pavel (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
Cieľom tejto práce bolo vytvorenie prehľadu v súčasnosti používaných implementácií panelových metód pre aerodynamické výpočty charakteristík 2D profilov. Základný popis princípu panelovej metódy, porovnanie jednotlivých implementácií a zhodnotenie ich možností (presnosť, aplikovateľnosť) na typické úlohy. V práci boli použité tri rôzne panelové programy: Xfoil, JavaFoil a XFLR5. Práca bola obohatená o meranie v aerodynamickom tuneli.
Static analysis of the lookout tower
Šoupalová, Kristýna ; Martinásek, Josef (referee) ; Vlk, Zbyněk (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the static analysis of the steel construction of the lookout tower in the shape of a helix. Two 3D models, which differs in the way the columns are modeled, were made with RFEM 5.25 software by Dlubal company. The models are loaded with the calculated loads and afterwards the results of both models are compared. There are also a third 3D model, which includes surfaces. This model is put to a wind tunnel through Dlubal RWIND software. Then the comparison of the wind loads calculated according to the valid standard and the RWIND results is made.
Formula Student Cooling System
Šebela, Kamil ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
The thesis deals with Formula Student cooling system. The thesis is divided to three main parts, the first part deal about description of current cooling system and lubricating system. The second part of thesis deals with measuring individual component of system at measuring stand, wind tunnel and measuring at vehicle. The last part of thesis deal about evaluation of measurement and construction changes for improving parameters of the cooling system.
Design and realization of an aerodynamic tunnel for spraying nozzles
Study of the dispersion of hazardous gas in an underground room.
Nosek, Štěpán
This study investigated airflow and pollutant dispersion in an underground room using two different ventilation methods: natural and forced ventilation. The experiment was conducted on a scale model of the room in a wind tunnel using physical modelling. The main objectives were to understand the airflow behaviour and dispersion of passive pollutants in a real environment under isothermal conditions.

Chaloupecká, Hana ; Jakubcová, Michala ; Fiala, R. ; Kozohorský, Jan
The report describes the work procedure on the project TACR TJ000365 for the entire duration of its solving. The work procedure, which is already described in the previous reports, is summarized in brief. In contrast, the report is engaged in the validation of the model in deep. The data acquired by the wind-tunnel modelling were utilized for the validation.
Experimental validation of active flow concept on wing section
Novotný, Ondřej ; Zima, Martin (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is experimental validation of active flow concept on the wing section. This concept could be replacement of commonly used high-lift devices. In the be-ginning of the thesis, a different high-lift devices and other experiments of active flow con-trol are described. Practical part of the thesis describes a preliminery of the measurment, such as preparing wind tunnel section, design of the rotary device and models of the wing section. Next chapter describes measuring of the wing section without active flow control and wing section with active flow control. In the end of the thesis the measurement was compared with CFD analysis.
