Micák, František ; Svobodová, Silvie (advisor) ; Vojíř, Karel (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of environmental literacy, or more precisely, the detection of the environmental attidues and nature relationship of the college and vocational schools students in the South Bohemia. Six secondary schools participated in the research - three of them environmental orientated, three schools without this type of orientatiton. Five hundred and twenty-seven respondents were involved in the research. The new current version of 2 Major Environmental Values (2-MEV) was applied. The fundamental goal of the thesis was to discover the connection of the school profiling, grades, genders, nature relationship and an outdoor activity of the respondents. Only a signigicant difference of the school profiling and nature relationship was identified. In this surveyed area the secondary school students with the environmental orientation achieved higher degrees than all the rest of the students. The gender role of the students showed no significant difference across all the school profiling. The school grade proved to be a statistical non important determinant. Last but not least, in the case of outdoor activities, a walk in nature dominates identically among all the respondents. Kroufek, Roman
Environmental literacy of pre-service teachers of primary school and possibilities of its assessment Roman Kroufek Abstract In recent decades, the environmental literacy and its output dimension, responsible environmental behavior represents an important construct, which is studied by a number of researchers from many countries. In this dissertation, firstly we introduce environmental literacy from a theoretical point of view, then the development of approaches to this construct as well as a review of research in past decades. In our own research, we initially sought for a suitable research instrument to be used to identify and measure selected aspects of environmental literacy among pre-service primary teachers. The research tool was found in a combination of Nature relatedness scale and Environmental Behavior scale, supplemented by data collection using concept mapping with the central concept of the greenhouse effect. The variables that affect various aspects of environmental literacy were found on a sample of more than five hundred of the respondents using this tool and its modifications. Higher values were found within the respondents who were engaged in regular environmentally-themed activities, respondents from villages up to 100 inhabitants and the older respondents. This thesis titled "Students' Relationship to the Nature" deals with the topic of students' relationship to the nature. This relationship is found out on the basis of a questionnaire, which was created by the German doctor and teacher Otto Schmeil in the year 1899. The first part of this thesis contains the definition and explanation of basic concepts related to the subject, such as nature, relationship to the nature, ecology and environmentalism, etc. The second part is dedicated to the research. The original questionnaire comes from the book of Dr. O. Schmeil, that is titled "Über die Reformbestrebungen auf dem Gebiete des naturgeschichtlichen Unterrichts". In 1899 this questionnaire was submitted to 150 respondents in the age of 12-14. The questions in this questionnaire are focused on the experiences of pupils with nature, such as for example: "Have you ever seen how to make cheese?", "Have you ever seen a snail in move?", etc. The same questionnaire was submitted to 405 pupils in nowaday Czech schools that were in the same age composition as the originally questionned were. The final discussion and conclusion is dedicated to a comparison between the replies of the respondents in 1899 and in 2015, and at the same time, in the research from the year 2015 to a comparison between respondents from...

Environmental frugality in the lifestyle of modern day young Tramps or 'What is taken into the forest also comes out.'
Sobotková, Jana ; Novotná, Hedvika (advisor) ; Braun Kohlová, Markéta (referee)
This thesis is an attempt to detect and interpret the elements of environmental frugality in the lifestyle of young Tramps, mainly in connection with activities related to their everyday lives. Based on a qualitative approach in the form of semi-structured interviews, I am trying to ascertain the point of view of the informants in several areas. These areas are mainly represented by the concept of tramping itself and its related forms of leisure activities, attitudes and preferences in selected areas of lifestyle (housing, food and waste, travel, transport and leisure, everyday objects, clothing), relating to nature, to the environment, nature protection and reflection of the current problems in this field, including the reflection of their own attitude (concept of responsibility, risk, etc.). I interpret the observed data on the basis of selected theoretical concepts, especially using Jan Krajhanzl's eco-psychological model of relationship to nature and its components, with emphasis on environmental awareness as one of its parts. Furthermore, I confront the results of my research with selected concepts related to the topic of an environmentally frugal life (voluntary and intentional modesty, ecological luxury etc.). Key words: Tramping, (alternative) lifestyle, leisure, everyday life, subcultural...
