The diploma thesis Assessment as a Way to Self-Knowledge Not Only in the Teaching of Mathematics at the First Stage of Primary School deals with the methods of assessment used in the first period of education of pupils at primary schools. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. Evaluation is an integral part of education, and just as other parts of education are transformed on the basis of changes in society, evaluation also undergoes upheavals and changes so that it is effective and responds to the latest trends in pedagogy. Assessment is a big topic for educators, and many of them think about an appropriate form of assessment on a daily basis. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the concept of school evaluation, its functions and distinguishes various types of school assessment. Evaluation is viewed in the thesis on three levels - self-evaluation, peer evaluation and teacher evaluation. The category of competence and its interpretation by teachers in practice

This dissertation deals with issues related to the realization of the concept of key competencies as educational goals which are being brought about by curricular reform. The theoretical component is aimed at researching the way key competencies are treated in the relevant literature and in European and Czech curricular documents. This section deals with the conception and implementation of key competencies in national educational programs in the EU countries. Various procedures in these countries are compared and evaluated in relation to curricular reforms in the Czech Republic and in conjunction with the interpretation of key competencies in the Framework Educational Program for Basic Education. The research component of the dissertation focuses on mapping out the understanding of key competencies on the part of the ‚main players' of curricular reform (teachers, teacher trainers, school inspectors) whose responsibility it is to bring this new concept into pedagogical practice.
Evidence of leasing in literature environmental education, grades 5 of elementary school

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of assessment, introduction of formative evaluation in literature environmental education at grades 5 of elementary school. It focuses on linking the assessment of outcomes of pupils evaluation with real evidence of learning from their work in literature environmental education classes. Through the mediation of action research, it examines possible forms of such evidence for the educational goals, ways and criteria for their assessment. It is based on an analysis of documents created by pupils of grades 5 of elementary school. On the basis of the newly - emerged learnings evidence, it proposes possible further steps in the teaching and evaluation process aimed at improving pupils' search and understanding of literary texts. It analyses the ability of pupils of a particular class to search, link and infer information from text and proposes the further steps in reading lessons within literature environmental education classes, in which pupils develop their reading strategies in a targeted way and move towards the goal using the criteria of success. Contains of exploration of facts concerning traditional transmissive teaching and innovative teaching, natural science literacy in education, and paradigms of natural science education. The application part chooses exemplary unit Mammals, analyses study material for this topic throughout many schoolbooks of Natural science for primary schools, and develops innovation to educational goals and its content. Innovation of teaching of this topic has been introduced based on accumulated knowledge.
Feedback in the process of education

The thesis Feedback in the proces of education, discusses formative feedback whose goal is to convey information to the student, which positively influences the students progress. Therefore it is an ongoing action of the teacher, who is monitoring the progress and results of the students, so that the teacher can help the students reach their goals and help form their overall personality. The first part of the thesis concentrates on the definition of feedback in the context of educational communication. Here the functions, goals of feedback and various typologies, with which we can meet, are summed up. Attention is further given to the problematics of working with students mistakes, educational goals, feedback in relation to evaluation and the role of formative evaluation in the educational process, the key of which is feedback. Part of the text further gives attention to how to work with feedback, and what to look out for so that it is most effective. The empirical second part concentrates on a research of methods of ten public school elementary teacher which they use to provide their students feedback. In the form of a case study it looks at how teachers approach feedback, and what forms and procedures they use, and what they want to achieve through it.

PhDr. Jana Uhlířová, CSc. Abstract: The aim of this work is a comparison of contemporary French and Czech kindergarden in some significant aspects. These are (i) educational goals in the kindergardens and (ii) conception of the preschool education and daily schedule of a kindergarten class. This work consists of two major parts, the theoretical part and the empirical part. The theoretical part discusses an embedding of a kindergarden in the educational system, conception of a child, conditions of child care in a preschool age and, finally, it precisely analyzes legislative documents of the educational programs in France and the Czech republic. The analysis also includes a translation of selected parts of French curriculum. The empirical part of this work is based on observation of a daily schedule and conditions in which the preschool education takes place. The comparison of both above mentioned aspects highlights the differences between a conception of a child and the application of the theoretical document in practice in both countries, the Czech republic and France. Teaching styles of drama teachers

The thesis presents information on teaching styles and their categorization. It deals with self-reflection as a key competence of the teacher. It describes the specifics of the drama teacher's profession. The empirical part of the thesis is focused on the observation of teaching styles of selected teachers. Next, we analyze their teaching style and together we reflect on the results. As a baseline theory for survey of teaching styles was chosen publication Fenstermacher and Soltis: Approaches to teaching.
