Title: System of Prevocational Assessment Centers in the Czech Republic and his functioning in the process of Prevocational Assessment from the perspective of the Occupational therapist Abstract: Prevocational assessment is a process intended for people with disabilities, during this process, the work potential of the client is evaluated for employment purposes. The applicant for this examination can be the Labor Office, the employer or the client himself. The prevocational assessment examination is attended by an interprofessional rehabilitation team, an integral part of this team are doctors, as well as non-medical professions, including an occupational therapist. The prevocational assessment examination is a very important component of the entire prevocational assessment, as it is the most time-consuming part of this examination.The examination takes place in one of thirteen specialized Prevocational Assessment centers in the Czech Republic. All centers must meet personal, substantive and material standards. Conclusions from individual examinations are presented by experts from the team at a case conference. Implementation of supported employment in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis "Implementation of supported employment in the Czech Republic" attends to a service, which has been developing in the Czech Republic since 1995, but it has not been regulated by law yet. Supported employment provides support for people, who are disadvantaged in area job opportunities with aim to improve their self-reliance and to enable them to participate at the open labour market. First theoretical concepts related to supported employment are introduced. Then supported employment is defined with emphasis on its characterization, target group and inception of this service. In view of the fact there is no legal regulation of supported employment, the bachelor thesis deals with possibilities of implementation of supported employment in the Czech Republic and their regulation in legislation. For more understanding of the process of realization of supported employment there are defined actors and their role in this process. The thesis also introduces a form of supported employment in Norway and the Slovak Republic.
Administration of labour policy in the relation to people with disabilities in the Czech Republic

The thesis "Administration of labour policy in the relation to people with disabilities in the Czech Republic" presents the actual usage of labour policy instruments in supporting employment of people with disabilities in practice. It analyses limitations of the handicapped which are caused by physical and mental disabilities, their right to work and labour policy instruments providing employment support to people with disabilities and practical usage of these instruments based on the statistical information in the theoretical part. Research is focused on finding out whether and in which aspects do the needs of people with disabilities while looking for a job and the needs of employers coinside with the support provided by labour offices in Benešov and Česká Lípa districts."

Title: Occupational Therapy Assessment of People with Guillain-Barré Syndrome in Productive Age Focusing on Possibilities of their Employment Abstract: Guillain-Barré syndrome is an acute inflammatory neuropathy affecting the peripheral nerves. Its most common symptoms are symmetrical weakness, myalgia, paraesthesia or dysesthesia, areflexia, and temporary quadruplegia. The syndrome starts affecting lower limbs. It progresses in the cranial direction which may lead to ventilation insufficiency and autonomic dysfunctions. It may even affect ability to work of people in productive age. Occupational therapists may specifically target the employment opportunities of people with Guillain-Barré syndrome and support them in returning to work as part of occupational therapy interventions conducted in health and social care institutions or prevocational assessment centers. This thesis describes the occupational therapy examination in detail with emphasis on the possibilities of employment of three people in productive age with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Mapping Work of Occupational Therapists in Prevocational Assessment Centers in the Czech Republic

Prevocational assessment is a complex functional assessment of psychosensomotor potential of a person with disability. Prevocational assessment can be part of a vocational rehabilitation provided by the Czech Labour Office as a form of consulting services. Nowadays, thirteen prevocational assessment centres in different regions of the Czech Republic offer this service. Prevocational assessments are made by an interprofessional team. Occupational therapist, as an essential member of this team, examines and tests client's independency during the prevocational assessment. Occupational therapist along with other members of interprofessional team analyses the work potential of a person with disability. Then, based on a complex functional assessment of a person with disability, the final report is written. This report contains description of skills and abilities which can be used by a person with disability while finding, getting and holding a position on the labour market. This report also contains a recommendation for the Czech Labour Office on how to increase client's chances to get a job. The use of co-ordinated rehabilitation concept in retirement home

This diploma thesis deals with co-ordinated rehabilitation and its use in retirement home specifically in the Center of social services Staroměstská in České Budějovice. It is important to use a co-ordinated rehabilitation concept for achievement of high service quality which means better life quality for pensioners. Co-operation within multidisciplinary team is essential during comprehensive rehabilitation for all persons. The goal of this diploma thesis was to found out how retirement home uses individual components of co-ordinated rehabilitation concept. The principal research question was: How much are employees of retirement home informed about co-ordinated rehabilitation concept? For research was chosen retirement home in the Center of social services Staroměstská in České Budějovice. There were eight employees of this institution participated in the research. It was used method of questioning and half-structured interview technique. Retirement home in the Center of social services Staroměstská uses all aspects of co-ordinated rehabilitation concept. Particularly they utilize medical rehabilitation and social rehabilitation. Most of workers is well-informed about co-ordinated rehabilitation concept. Some of them do not know certain terms. However after explaining of these terms they prove good knowledge of this issue. The employees have satisfactory overview not only about rehabilitation which is directly their scope of working activity but also about other components of co-ordinated rehabilitation. The workers are perfectly informed about medical rehabilitation. They are also mostly satisfied with co-operation in multidisciplinary team. This kind of co-operation takes place at any time of a need or during the meetings or at individual scheduling. The results of this diploma thesis may help to retirement home in the Center of social services Staroměstská in České Budějovice to evaluate the usage of co-ordinated rehabilitation during elderly care. It might also show the measure of co-operation of multidisciplinary team members. This diploma thesis may help to anybody who is interested in specific retirement home or in co-ordinated rehabilitation in general.
The Labour Market Assertion of Persons with Physical Disability

The thesis deals with the application of persons with disabilities in the labor market. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the notion of disability and classification of body defects. Explains the concept of labor market, human capital and protected labor market. Also deals with the instruments to support the employment of people with disabilities and related legislation on this matter. Further focuses on barriers in the access of persons with disabilities on the labor market. The aim of the practical part of the reply to the main research question: what kinds of barriers are faced by persons with disabilities in finding employment on the open labor market? Employment of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic

Approximately every tenth citizen in the Czech Republic suffers from a disability. Persons with disabilities form a vulnerable group in the labour market, which is caused mainly by a lower level of their education. Therefore, it is important that legislation protects the disabled persons and encourages employers to their employment. Employing of disabled people is in the interest of entire society and also has an integrative dimension. The main objective of this thesis is to assess comprehensively the legal regulation of the employment of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic, to reflect recent amendments to applicable legislation and simultaneously to verify the premise that these regulations are satisfactory and feasible in practice. The thesis consists of four parts. The first part focuses on the basic definitions and states in which aspects some similar terms are identical or different. Special attention is paid to the definition of a "disabled person" in all its major forms. The second part deals with international and European regulation, by which the Czech Republic is bound and with which the national legislation must be in accordance. Analyse of Protected Work-rooms with Regard to their Rise in Civic Sector and Trading Companies

Presented thesis deals with theme of protected employment of people with disabilities as one of the posssible ways of their integration into mainstream society. Unemployment, potential negative impacts of work in protected conditions and the risk of social exclusion are in this thesis presented as a social problem, in the solution of which are to some extent involved participants of all three sectors - the state as well as organizations of private profit- and non-profit sector. The theoretical part describes the current system of employment support for people with disabilities in our country and its effectiveness, and analyses the potential impact on lives of this group of citizens. The thesis also includes research conducted within protected workrooms, operated by the civic sector organizations and business companies. Its main objective is to determine whether and how the examined employers contribute to development of skills, vocational qualification and motivation of the disabled citizens for a possible moving into the open labor market and the mainstream society.
