BUT Area Kraví hora

The aim of the diploma thesis is a detailed study of the VUT area at Kraví Hora to a scale of 1: 200. The aim is to combine the interests of VUT and Brno in this extraordinary territory for the benefit of both subjects. For the needs of the city, I created a publicly accessible park in which I placed the VUT museum buildings and the spaces for the promotion of individual VUT faculties that the Technical University lacks. I have also placed the object of the creative business center here. These are rented spaces especially for VUT graduates and VUT employees who want to do creative work. Both buildings with a green walkable roof are embedded in the terrain so as not to disturb the overall impression of the landscape and create a natural transition between the buildings and the city park.

Air conditioning of the cinema

The topic of this bachelor’s thesis is design of three air conditioner units for cinema with technical utility rooms, base for workers and gallery. The devices are designed to meet the operating, hygienic and functional requirements for internal microclimate. The main role of air conditioning devices is air supplying for visitors in sufficient amount, eliminating thermal loads in summer, covering thermal losses and humidification during winter. The theoretical part is focused on internal microclimate.

Rebuilding the house

Diploma thesis was prepared it the level of a project documentation. The theme is the project of the rebuilding of the former school house from 1890 in the village Třešť, which is currently unused. The building will newly merge premises of the library, information center, multifunctional hall, elementary art school and exhibition space. The project solves the rebuilding of the existing building, including rehabilitation of wet masonry by chemical grouting and a new extension of sanitary facilities and escape route.

SEFO Olomouc

The topic of my master’s thesis was to create an architectural study of Central European Forum in Olomouc. The Forum will be housed in refurbished premises of the Museum of Modern Art on Denisova Street and a new building erected on the neighbouring vacant lot, which was created when five historical burgher houses were demolished in 1969.The forum will be focused on collecting, exhibiting and publishing activities regarding various representations of Central European art, with special attention paid to modern and contemporary art. ‘Forum’ is much wider term than, for instance, ‘museum’ or ‘gallery’ – apart from its essential activities, various discussions, lectures, symposiums, and other events will also be organised. Proposed area is located in the heart of Olomouc city, directly in its conservation area and therefore it was crucial to take into consideration the existing historical development in neighbourhood. Main volume of the proposed building connects with building of the existing museum. Gradation of the other volumes based on the sloped terrain configuration lead to a sensitive completion of the vacant gap site and the existing historical surroundings remained preserved. construction of the new building of Central European Forum came to creation of new exhibition and assembly spaces, depositories, studios as well as technical facilities, changing rooms and sanitary facilities for museum crew.

Cultural Center Brno

The work deals with a design of Culture centre in Brno located on the gap site in front of park Obilní trh on Údolní street. An urban design concept keeps all of existing buildings that are currently in use and completes a frontage line of surrounding historic buildings. Broader entrance area is created by a cantilevered structure. Main point of the design is a courtyard, or a big atrium with symetrically curved shape, allowing daylighting and interconnection of inner spaces. Architectural design is given by a concept of the cultural center being a „sprouted grain“, or a place for talent display and collective evolution. Hallway, passageway, corridors and foyer are placed around a courtyard, space dynamics is itensified with a circular staircase. The Building of the Cultural center is composed of two parts: anterior one (northern part) with a courtyard and posterior one with bigger multipurpose hall and its support area (southern part), set in a sloping terrain. Anterior part consists of several rooms of versatile use (smaller hall, practice rooms, clubrooms) and studios that can be linked together to create an exhibition area, plus staff, technical and sanitary facilities. On street level, there are entrances to commercial spaces and a tea-room with a bookstore. A street-facing facade (northern one) is designed as a curtain wall, glazed in central part with circular staircase and thin marble pannels cladding on sides. As for the courtyard, a structural facade with glazing in combination with marble panelling is used.

Conversion of Grain Silo in Zlin

The subject of the Bachelor thesis is conversion of grain silo in Zlín-Prštné. Building plot is between avenue of Tomáš Baťa, Přímá and Jateční. Close to the building is situated railway station Zlín-Prštné. The aim is to design creative centre for artists, designers, architects and others. They will be allowed to rent here a space for the realization of their ideas. Part of the proposal was to create a square on the investigated area.

Park of Culture Brno

The goal of this project is to design a new cultural and social center in Brno on the Mikulasek Square, Starý Lískovec. The main idea of the project was not only to design a building that would perfectly serve its purpose, but it was also to create a lively enviroment to meet people and to spend the leisure time. It was not required to detract the green areas in this housing estate. So there was a park created on the new building’s roofs. This is how the omitted place got its character and use. There are two buildings designed under the ground level and a bridge that helps the continuity of the park. On the south side in front of the main entrances there is a space with outdoor stage and auditorium followed by a wide ramp that meanders between the two buildings. The ramp was situated to the center of the project in order not to set aside the invalids. In front of the buildings there is also an area called ‚park square‘ which is formed by an irregular grass surfaces and pathes that lead to a various directiones. This space was designed according to an analysis of the people’s movement in this area. There are trees planted and the pathes are lined with long wooden rectangular-shaped benches.

The Reconstruction of the Old Post Building in Rousínov

The theme of the bachelor’s thesis is the reconstruction of the building of the former Post Office on the square in Rousínov, and its adjacent extension. This project originates from a studio project elaborated in the summer semester of the second grade of the bachelor’s study. In the past there was a post office, telegraph and telephone switchboard on the second floor. On the first floor there was a flat and some shops. In the front facade there was a barber Svoboda, collection of cloths and bones, staircase to the second floor and dwellings for poor. In previous time there were twelve hired soldiers with a their sergeant accommodated. The building remained unused for a long time, which affected the current technical condition. Nowadays it is impossible to use the building for the same purpose as in the past. For that reason it is necessary to find a new functional utilization. The building itself is rather small, of a simple rectangle ground plan. Along with the church and repaired old townhall it forms important places on the square of Rousínov. Taking into consideration the building location the information center, services for public, ie. hairdresser, beauty care, manicure, pedicure is designed on the first floor. On the second floor there are premises to be let for administrative purposes. In the attic there are social premises, such as projection hall or premises for family celebrations or business meetings. An important requirement was to keep the character of baroque‘s features – moulding, window holes, attic roof and broken arcs, arcades in the interior. The newly designed building consists of two parts – connecting glass passageway and a building used as an exhibition hall with public toilets. Due to lack of public and social events in the town Rousínov, on the first floor of the new building there is a sport’s center designed with two multipurposes halls, massages and a reception desk. When i created material composition I took care to glare, visual axis, negative impacts (such as dust and noise from traffic) and pedestrian, as the basic unit of life in the city. I started closing block. The building looked so huge. Cultural institution as a building for the people of the city should be distinguished according to their surroundings. It should be distinctive and different song structures, and the whole expression. In the past, such constructions rendition of the very place of the green, where he was to build a good view from all sides. But at our place it can not be achieved. But maybe it's so good. Odhľahčenie matter was necessary, punctures the back of my yard was founded in a small square (because I separated the whole mass, and not crossing).
