History of the city Jílové near Děčín after 1945: Transfer and Settlement in the Narratives of Its Inhabitants

This thesis considers a difficult period of the post-war period of history in Jílové near Děčín. The main chapters of this work deal with the themes of transfer of Germans from the city and with the following event of settlement of new inhabitants. The aim of this thesis is to reflect the period of the national migration in Jílové. Last but not least this work aims to reveal micro-historical view on a process of key events in a small city considering individual life stories. Submitted thesis is based on available archive materials and literature. At the same time there was applied a method of oral history. In the following chapters there are introduced 6 life stories of inhabitants of Jílové who helped with their narrations to describe the key themes of this research as well as "small history" of everyday life in the post-war era. National and Political Cleansing in Mohelnice 1945-1948. Expulsion - Tranfer - Retribution Jaromír Mrňka, Institute of Economic and Social History FF UK, 2011. Bachelor thesis 'National and Political Cleansing in Mohelnice 1945-1948. Expulsion - Transfer - Retribution' copes with theme WWII aftermath cleansing processes in town of Mohelnice in northern Moravia during the period of the so called Third Czechoslovakian Republic. In the context of long- term development of Czech-German relations in the region and other context of revolutionary changes in a structure of post-war society, thesis examines involvement of particular historical players during the period of the so called expulsion of Germans and wild retribution from May till July 1945, in the execution of the so called Great decree from July 1945 and in the organized phase of the transfer of German population in the region during the year 1946. Thesis studies motivations and changes of social status of defendants of the Great decree in the connection with their engagement in structures of the NSDAP.
Transfer/Expulsion of Sudeten Germans in the Public Press and in the Czech Literature after WWII

The thesis analyzes the reflection of the transfer/expulsion of Germans in post-war Czechoslovak press in the years 1945-1948. It focuses on the first critical reactions that were published in selected journals. Last but not least, it analyzes problems related to transfer (expulsion) of the Germans from Czechoslovakiathe during Second World War. First of all the thesis focuses on weekly Obzory and Vývoj the managing editor Pavel Tigrid under the auspices of the Czechoslovak People's Party. It also analyses text in independent weekly Dnešek, that is connected with Ferdinand Peroutka, and critical comments of Přemysl Pitter and Michal Mareš, that were influential in the post-war period. Overall, the thesis analyses the reflection of the transfer through these personalities and their articles in selected Third Republic's journals. The expulsion of Germans from Sušice district

In this final thesis the author focuses on the transfer of Germans from Czechoslovakian borderlands after World War II. It is considered to be one of the most fundamental incident of post-war period in Czechoslovakia which took place primarily between 1945 and 1947. This work is specifically focused on former Sušice district where used to live a numerous german minority. Althought vast majority of Sušice citizens were of Czech origin and after 1938 Sušice was not annexed to German Reich, the border were right behind the town and many villages of the district were significantly German. After 1945, it was the committees of Sušice who were in charge of the expulsion. During two years, but mainly 1946, fourteen transports were sent beyond the borders. Most of the Germans then settled in neighboring Bavaria. Šumava witnessed a massive population decline. In spite of efforts to populate this area again, some villages remained abandoned due to its location and living conditions. Economic and social consequences of the trasnfer of Germans on the area of South Bohemia in years 1945-1955

Transfer of the Germans is the largest, human caused migration process in history of Czech Republic. This bachelor thesis examines economic and social consequences of the transfer, during the years 1945-1955, with the focus on the South Bohemia. The aim of this work is to concretize and evaluate social and economic consequences. Theoretical part of this work describes Czech-German cohabitation from the age of The First Republic, including approval, process and quantification of the transfer that ended it. Analytical part describes the social consequences on the examples of colonizing the chosen villages economic consequences are described by the case study of chosen concerns. Colonization objective was, during years 1945-1955, fulfilled in the district towns and Větřní, not in the smaller villages near the border. The impact on the studied companies was the reduction of the number of employees, but the consequences had different outcomes, because of the different solutions provided.

Impact of transfer of Germans and resettlement of Jablonec nad Nisou after World War II.

The second world war is no doubt one of the most important milestone to the whole history of human being. In the border area of Czechoslovakia was this milestone moreover followed by expulsion of German population and resettlement by Czech inhabitants. This thesis deals with the immediate aftermath of forced displacement of Sudeten Germans after 1945 and resettlement of the border areas of Czechoslovakia. It focuses specifically on area of Jablonec nad Nisou where the entire structure of the population has changed significantly during a short period. Specific events are complemented by testimonies of eyewitnesses. The postwar development of Jablonec nad Nisou district differs from other towns resettled in the border region especially due to prevailing glass and jewelery industry with its specific characteristics. Therefore, the part of the thesis is devoted to analysis of industrial conditions of this area and development of leading local companies.
