Proposal for Investments in the Shares of Global Tobacco Companies to Complement the ETF Portfolio

The diploma thesis is dedicated to the recommendation of supplementing the Exchange Traded Fund with shares of tobacco industry companies. The chapter of the theoretical basis of the work describes in more detail ETFs, investments and all kinds of indicators used in the analytical part. The analytical part proceeds from the selection of companies, through the analysis itself, to the verification of companies. Recommended companies, as well as anticipated industry developments and current risks of investing in shares, are presented in our own proposals.
Marketing communication of British American Tobacco

Master thesis is focused on marketing communication of British American Tobacco company. The objective is analysis on example of campaign which is connected to the launch. Theoretical part is dedicated to characteristics of marketing mix, communication mix and also to brand. Tobacco industry, its specifics and mainly the legal restrictions are described in practical part of the thesis. Then there is introduction of BAT company and Rothmans brand. As was already mentioned, the last chapter is about particular study case, Rothmans Demi Click and about detailed analysis of campaign which is related to this launch. Part of a thesis is also evaluation of the campaign by quantitative and qualitative research. At the end there are recommendation for the future.
The analysis of communication of campaigns against smoking

The content of the Diploma "Analysis of Communication Anti-Smoking Campaigns" is firstly the introduction of the issue of social campaigns, its marketing principle and also important elements and aspects which are typical for these campaigns. There is also the presentation of tobacco policy in the Czech Republic and the environment in which we operate. Another important part of the Diploma shows the specific anti-tobacco campaigns and projects that have been realized both in the Czech Republic and the other states and presents analysis of their communication and the key elements and forms which are used in campaigns. Then there is presented a research, which was conducted through a questionnaire and which was answered by 256 respondents. Its main objective was to determine the attitudes and opinions of Czech public towards antismoking policies, their personal experience with specific campaigns and also the perception of policy and consumption of tobacco in the country. Many interesting results emerged from the research. Most of the respondents do not consider anti- smoking policy in the Czech Republic too intense, they also do not trust the effects of anti- smoking campaigns, and they would appreciate harsher and more naturalistic advertising and stricter rules on the use of tobacco and cigarettes.
The Impact of Non-Tariff Barriers of International Trade on Tobacco Industry

The bachelor thesis deals with the problematic of non-tariff barriers on international trade, particularly with their influence on tobacco industry. The main goal is to analyze current situation on the basis of theoretical findings and historical evolution. The first part of the thesis is combination of theory and historical context for both non-tariff measures and tobacco industry. The result is description of current status of tobacco industry in global markets. The primary point of the second part of the thesis is the analysis of non-tariff barriers on contemporary tobacco industry in USA, China, Australia and in Czech Republic. Higher concerns on situation in Czech Republic are based on fact that the common regulations of EU are taking the main point in local tobacco-related legislation. Ways of non-tariff regulation of tobacco industry have been identified based on collected findings and also the possible outline of future evolution has been suggested.

The position of Philip Morris Company on the Czech market

The aim of this thesis is to analyze, define and evaluate the position of Philip Morris Company on the Czech market. The work is divided into four main chapters. The first part is dedicated to the characteristics of Philip Morris, where the reader gets acquainted with the history and development of the company, its objectives and strategies. Also the best known cigarette brands that Philip Morris offers are presented. A considerable part of the work deals with the tobacco industry. It is devoted to the second chapter of the work. Close attention is focused on the regulatory measures of tobacco products, whose content is crucial for future development of the company. The mainstay is concentrated in the third chapter, which deals with the analysis of the position of Philip Morris on the tobacco market. To achieve the objectives of the work, the characteristics of the tobacco market in the Czech Republic and its consumers, identifying main competitors, financial analysis and SWOT analysis are stated. The final fourth chapter summarizes the main findings and discusses the prospects on the tobacco market and future development of the company.
Financial analysis of the tobacco industry

I characterize in my work the tobacco industry on the base of the financial analysis carried out in the selected European companies, which are part of the industry according to the Amadeus database. I describe the tobacco industry, its financial history and supposed development based on data and values indicators of profitability, activity, liquidity, stability and indebtedness. I compare these companies among themselves and towards the total average of all companies of tobacco industry. I write down the establishment and development of the tobacco industry above all the history of the Philip Morris company in the world and in the Czech Republic.
Marketing communications in the tobacco industry

The diploma thesis in its theoretical part treats of marketing communications within the marketing process with focus to below-the-line communication activities that are crucial to the communication in the tobacco industry. The second part already characterizes the specifics of the market and the regulation in the tobacco industry. The third part describes in detail the target group of adult smokers and the application of the marketing communications in the marketing of tobacco products, both in the B2B and B2C area. The last part outlines the opportunities and threats based on the current situation on the market and its estimated development and defines what are the key focus areas and both strategic and tactical steps could ensure a potential growth and brand building.
