Adlová, Romana
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of teacher's authority from the point of view of secondary school students. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to clarify the concept of authority related to its typology and the criteria of authority breakdown. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the teacher's authority and explains the connections of discipline and behaviour with authority in relation to the teacher's educational styles. The theoretical part of the thesis concludes with the personality of the teacher and the characteristics of the selected teaching styles. In the practical part of the thesis, the main task is to find out the general perception or evaluation of authority from the pupils' point of view, as well as what mainly constitutes the teacher's authority according to the pupils, which of the teaching and educational styles positively influence the teach-er's authority and which method is most often preferred by teachers to maintain discipline in the classroom. A questionnaire survey is used to result the objectives of the practical part of the thesis. The questions are directed to the respondents, i.e., the students at a gastronomy secondary vocational school and a secondary industrial school located in the Olomouc region. As a result of the exploratory investigation of the bachelor thesis it is found that the concept of au-torita is perceived by the pupils as respecting a person. Pu-pils evaluate the concept of authority as an important basis, especially for func-tioning in our society. Through authority, order is set, order is established and leads to decency. Teacher authority is based on professional-ness, conduct, fair-ness, and consistency. A teacher can strengthen his authority through teaching and educational style which is rich in knowledge, skills and directed towards under-standing and personality development of the students. As a means of maintaining discipline, teachers should use interesting teaching that raises pupils' attention and thus helps to maintain discipline in the classroom.

Pelcová, Kateřina ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Kvasz, Ladislav (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to describe teaching styles of two secondary mathematics teachers with very different approaches. One of them represents traditional frontal instruction and one prefers students to be more actively involved in the learning process. Their styles are compared based on their teaching a concrete mathematical topic, namely plane analytic geometry of lines. Examined teaching styles (frontal instruction and so-called realistic education) and selected research with a similar focus are described in the theoretical part of the thesis. The research consisted of observations in lessons of both teachers and a final test for their students. The acquired data has been analyzed by qualitative and quantitative methods. The teacher representing traditional frontal instruction emphasizes practising and explaining the new topic. Problems are solved by herself or one chosen student on the blackboard. Questions, which she is asking, require mainly short answers and are focused on reproduction of the previously learnt knowledge. During the lessons of the teacher who is the creator and also an exponent of the so-called realistic education, students are solving problems independently. Švihnosová, Kristýna ; Havlíčková, Radka (advisor) ; Kvaszová, Milena (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the issue of word problems with different results, to which is not given systematic attention in the specialized literature. The focus of the work is to observe how pupils and teachers of elementary school work with a word problem with different results. The theoretical part focuses on the typology of word problems, the phases of their solution and solving strategies. Furthermore, the classification of word problems according to the number of results and the typology of word problems with different results is proposed. A significant part consists of the goals with which this type of task can be assigned in the teaching of mathematics and which change depending on the teacher and his approach to teaching. The work also deals with the basic characteristics of teaching styles. The selected qualitative research using the method of observation and questionnaire allows to describe the work of teachers with a word problem with different results and to identify elements of teaching styles, namely transmissive and constructivist approaches, which are reflected in the actions of teachers. An additional method is the analysis of selected textbooks in terms of the presence of word problems with different results, which reveals whether such tasks occur in textbooks and what...

Formative evaluation at the primary school
Cée, Iveta ; Hejlová, Helena (advisor) ; Vondřičková, Klára (referee)
The aim of my diploma thesis was to find out how teachers lead their pupils to self - assessment and how this effort relates to the type of their teaching style. The individual teaching styles, their suitability for pupils self-esteem, the particularities of individual development periods and the pupils self-evaluation in these developmental periods are characterized in the theoretical part. The practical part contains a case study, which describes the teaching styles of ten elementary school teachers and their influence on pupils' self-assessment. For the research task I used the data processing via observation and interviewing methods. Another method used in my research is the action teacher research, which helped me to find out my own teaching style and the level of self-esteem students are able to achieve in the 5th grade. The results of the research point to the influence of teacher's teaching style on self-assessment of pupils. Teachers focusing on the facilitating or liberal teaching style really lead pupils to the ability of self- assessment. Fifth-grade pupils who have not been lead to self-assessement since the first grade are not able to self-assess on the level of upper secondary school age.
