The social support of patients treatment at the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology

Treating children with a malignant disease represents a very difficult situation for the patients and their families. The purpose of the thesis is to map social work, state help and support from non-profit organizations to families of children with cancer. Part of the work is a research investigation. The research was divided into three categories. The survey for families of children treated at the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Clinic at the University Hospital Motol was made in the first part. The second part consists of an interview with a healthcare social worker. The third part is an analysis of the documentation of selected oncological patients. The main finding is - social work practice is sufficient. There is a variety of state social support, but it is very slow. Families are well informed about the possibilities of state social support. Families used financial support from the Good Angel Foundation and material support from other non-profit organizations. The respondents expressed interest in the information paper, the proposal of which is part of the thesis. The system of material need benefits as an instrument of protection against poverty in the Czech Republic.

This thesis The system of material need benefits as an instrument of protection against poverty in the Czech Republic deals with the relationship between poverty and social benefits. The subject of research is to analyze the impact of system material need benefits to deals problem of poverty. The theoretical basis for thesis is the concept of social exclusion and redistributive discourse. The theoretical part of the thesis analyzed the different concepts and identified tools of social policy in the fight against poverty. Closer is characterized by social protection and help system in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis, realized through research studies and interviews with experts, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of material need benefits and suggestions for improvement. An influence between care allowance and economic situation of people in retirement

Bachelor thesis "The care allowance receive effect on the economic situation of seniors" research has focused on the selected sample of respondents´ financial situation. The theoretical part describes the current status. The description is divided into following parts: definitions, a comprehensive description of the care allowance, allowance proceedings description, Practical part is divided for thesis targets, methodology, data analysis, interpretation and discussion. The thesis target was to answer following question: "How do the seniors accept and feel the care allowance in relation to their economic situation". To find answers, three research questions were used. Care allowance receipt is primarily to contribute to improving the economic situation of the disabled. It should support remaining these people in their natural social environment and some way to compensate disabled people increased costs. The target was to receive the information, if the contribution fulfills these functions. Then, how do they feel the contribution receipt and how do they evaluate it´s value. Quality research strategy was used for the thesis processing. Also unstandardized semi structured interview with selected seniors was used. Data collection technique was the individual in-depth interview. The thesis aim was achieved by receiving answers for three partial research questions: 1. How does the receiving person feel and evaluate the contribution? 2. How does the person evaluate the contribution effect on his/her financial situation? 3. How does the person judge how much the contribution covers increased costs caused by his/her permanent adverse health conditions? The data obtained are analyzed and interpreted. The conclusion summarizes main research findings. The research confirmed fully, that allowance care contribution is right. It was also proved, that contribution level should be increased.

Social security in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Czech republic

The theme of the bachelor thesis is a social security in the Federal republic of German and the Czech republic. The thesis analyses social security in both states and then compares them. The comparison is based on obtained information. Part of this thesis is also a survey, which should find out, how well people are informed, and how they orient in these systems of security. Goal of this thesis is to valorize both systems of social security and to compile a proposal de lege ferenda.

The bachelor thesis is focused on health and social problems of adolescents and adults with epilepsy. The bachelor thesis aim is to analyze the social status of adolescents and adults with epilepsy in the area of education, leisure activities and the inclusion into a group of peers. The bachelor thesis theoretical part deals with the characteristics of epilepsy, the disease etiology, the first aid and it also mentions current epilepsy treatment possibilities. It describes the social relevance of the disease within adolescents and adults. The attention is given to education, leisure activities and the relevance of the peer group within adolescents and young persons with epilepsy. There are options of the social help for people with epilepsy and the social worker role in the bachelor thesis. Social welfare in Federal republic of Germany and Czech republic

The bachelor thesis deals with social security in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Czech Republic. The thesis is devided into several chapters. The introductory chapters focus on definition of key concepts and terms related. Next chapters describe in details insurance systems, such as sickness insurance, health insurance, pension insurance. Followig chapters concern non-insurence systems, which include social state support and social help. Last chapter is a comparison of the two systems, examining their similarities and their differencies.

Social Work in Hospital - Used Methods and Techniques

The thesis deals with the issue of social work in a hospital. Social work in health care is a sphere where health care is combined with social care and is an inseparable part of therapeutic and nursing process. The aim was to map the methods and techniques of social work used in the České Budějovice Hospital. Three research questions were set: 1. What methods and techniques does a social worker apply to work with a patient? 2. What social help is most frequently used by patients in hospital? 3. Are patients informed on social care possibilities after discharge from hospital? Quantitative research, questioning method, the technique of semi structured interview was performed to reach the goals of the thesis. The research was conducted from March to June 2012. The practical research was performed in direct cooperation with social workers from the České Budějovice Hospital and with clients that had been discharged to home environment after being hospitalized in the České Budějovice Hospital and used social services after discharge. The research has shown that social workers apply the most suitable methods to the social work process and use the most modern procedures in solving unfavourable social situation, including the approach to a client. Clients have the possibility to get in touch with a social worker in hospital and to use her assistance in mitigation or elimination of negative social impacts of illness.
