Nursing specifics in the care of clients after high correction osteotomy of high proximal tibia over time.
BAČOVÁ, Emilie
Osteotomy means cutting a bone using a saw most often. It is used to adjust axial deviation, prolongation, or shortening of the bones. Over time, when there were changes in the development of the surgical technique of corrective osteotomy, changes in nursing care also occurred. This breakthrough concerns not only nursing staff, but also clients in particular. Because of the development of the surgical technique, the hospitalization time shortens and if the client does not perform a physically demanding job, where is a heavy load on the operated lower limb, the treatment time is reduced. This leads to a faster return of clients to normal life and employment. Nursing care becomes less demanding for staff than the older surgical method. The bachelor thesis is a theoretical work, which deals in the introductory part with knee joint anatomy, knee joint examination methods, explanation of the concept of gonarthrosis and the way of treating this disease. This part is followed by history of osteotomy and an explanation of the surgical method. An important part of the thesis is the description of nursing care of clients with high correction osteotomy as time goes by, which includes preoperative preparation, postoperative care and, last but not least, rehabilitation. The aim of the work is to describe, how the nursing procedures changed with the older surgical method. The second objective is to map out nursing procedures using a modern surgical method. There are the opinions of doctors and nurses of various medical disciplines, who have experienced nursing care of clients with high corrective osteotomy, mentioned. Gained knowledge could serve as a guide to nursing care of clients after high corrective osteotomy of the proximal tibia.

The issue of driving a car in patients after stroke - the possibility of occupational therapy intervention
Málková, Kristýna ; Svobodová, Tereza (advisor) ; Uhlířová, Jaromíra (referee)
The issue of driving a car after stroke is getting increasingly common, especially because of the high stroke incidence concerning productive age patients. Nowadays, driving is considered a matter of course which intervenes our leisure time activities and work performance. Self-sufficiency and independency of a patient is one of the domains of occupational therapy, which is why the occupational therapist is a part of an interdisciplinary team. The theoretical part of the thesis defines terms relating to stroke and further neuropsychological deficits. It describes problematics of returning to automobile driving and legislative aspects. Possibilities of occupational therapy interventions relating to driving are proposed as well. The practical part of the thesis stands on a survey research, conducted in the Czech Republic and Belgium. The survey was aimed at occupational therapists who work with neurological patients and focuses on the issue of returning to driving and possible occupational therapy interventions. The conclusion also describes and compares practical Czech and Belgian occupational therapy with patients who have undergone a stroke. Brno waterfront - rehabilitation of rivers and their surrounding areas
Vrba, Petr ; Řehák, Filip (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The theme of the diploma thesis "Brno waterfront - rehabilitation of the Brno rivers and their surroundings" is creating an urban proposal in Brno, Zábrdovice, on the eastern waterfront of the Svitava river. The intention is to use the potential of the area and create the possibility of lucrative housing by river with a commercial ground floor, services, leisure time park with a multifunctional playground and easy direct access to the Svitava river. The studied location, has an area of 6.32 hectares andis defined mainly by the Zábrdovická Street and the Svitava River near the former Premonstratensian Monastery, which now serves as a Military Hospital. At present, the location has mainly low-floor industrial buildings with storage and expedition functions. The proposed buildings relate to existing buildings on the east and west banks of the Svitava River. They have the form of four to six storey blocks, which are characteristic for this area. The park connects to the revitalized eastern embankment of the river at the site of a new footbridgethat connects both rive sides and stairs. They provide space formeetings and relaxation, but also serve as a flood control in the event of a water inflow. Along the Svitava River there is a sidewalk with street alleyways and access to the river.
Brno waterfront - rehabilitation of rivers and their surrounding areas
Vrána, Adam ; ing.arch. Lukáš Ležatka, Ph.D (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the assignment was to rehabilitate the area of the Brno embankment of the river Svitava and the nearby surroundings of the river. This is the modification of the river's seashore, the modification of public spaces and the completion of individual objects. The solved territory is defined in the east and north of Cejl streets, on the east of the Svitava river and on the south by Tkalcovska street. The principles of the proposal are based on the necessary changes to the territory. The biggest problem of the area is the area backups for the hypermarket parking lot and the urbanistically incoherent structure of the courtyards and the poorly functioning waterfront. The proposal focuses on making the river accessible and bringing water closer to people. On the waterfront the bicycle path is used not only by cyclists. The former hypermarket is converted into a shopping mall and the ground floor of the seafront is made up of shops, services, cafes and restaurants. For humans, a river was available that could touch water. For relaxation and recreation, the terraces are provided. Better permeability also offers the river itself. By modifying the footbridge and delivering a new footbridge in the middle part, pedicists and cyclists can better cross the river. The park and the reclamation of planted trees have been modified. The Svitavy Drive in the section of the park was also accessible by foot. The siding was preserved to a certain extent in order to be able to prepare a wagon with a café or other possibilities of the Svitava festival under the steam. The construction of new houses increases the attractiveness of the area itself and offers both flats overlooking the river with the dominant of the church as well as services in the workshops of the individual houses. Cejl street has a green and a plumbing and a missing pit. Transparency for people is from the weft loom on the waterfront through the park, business or residential street.Residential homes have ma
