Aktive Learning as A Tool of Reading Literacy Development in a Primary School.

The thesis aims to explore those current methods of teaching reading. The theoretical part describes the active learning, its influence on a class climate, the demands it puts on a teacher and the benefits it brings to the learners. Next, we define the concepts of reading comprehension and reading literacy and describe a range of methods and means that contribute to reading literacy development. The practical part analyses the conditions for reading literacy development at primary schools and gives examples of lessons which implement active learning methods into the reading literacy development process.
Analysis of exercises in reading-books for 9th class of primary school

RESUMÉ The essence of this thesis is to compare selected reading books or workbooks in terms of the accompanying questions and issues. The work is theoretically based on the characteristics of the pubescent reader and also Bloom's taxonomy, classification and results in international tests like PISA etc. The thesis is also examining the readers' literacy. Its definition is changing in time. Literacy is not only focusing on the knowledge, but also plays an important role in integrating into society. It is a complex of several dimensions (relationship to reading, literal understanding, deduction, metacognition, sharing and application). Each of the components is indispensable. Five reading books of the 9th year of elementary school from different publishers (SPN, New School, Fraus, Alter) were analyzed. Two reading books are published by SPN, but each represents a different approach (the older one is based on the school curriculum, newer relates to teaching according to the RVP ZV). It was not a representative analysis of the whole supply of current reading books, but only a selected sample. Analysis of particular reading books is devoted to the general characteristics and context (author, declared associations with RVP ZV, illustrations, general structure of reading book, etc). Functional ways of reading literacy development in elementary school

The aim of this thesis is to acquaint readers with the functional ways of the development of reading literacy of pupils in primary school, and to find out how and with what results these way can be aquired from the position of primary school teacher and pupils. The theoretical part is focused on reading literacy, its components, the stages and the factors that influce its development. It defines concepts of reading, reading comprehension, and related reading skills and strategies. It deals with the development of reading literacy at school. It describes pupils of the primary school and key competences of the primary school teacher. The thesis also describes which components of reading literacy can be developed among pupils and what the appropriate projects in the Czech Republic are. The final chapter focuses on the methods that support the development of reading literacy among pupils, especially the RWCT (Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking) program and their inclusion during lessons. Role of the family on reading skills

This bachelor's work looks into the family's influence in reader's proficiency development in youngers chool-agechildren. Basic terms such as: reader's literacy, reader's skills and reading are specified in the theoretical part. Furthemore pre-reader's and reader's literacy is delimited along with its five components. This work also introduces the koncept of family from the point of generational changes, achal problems and attitudes towards reading. Several implemented projects in the area of fading promotion in the Czech republic are outlined. Based on the results of mixed quantative and qualitative research of the family's influence in the reader's abilities development in regard to the environment where the child is growing up. Special attention is paid to the relation between the child'supbringing in the permanent care of one parent, alternating care of both parents and reader's proficiency development.
The Improving of Children's Literacy in Kindergartens and School Clubs

This bachelor thesis focuses on pre-reader´s literacy of children placed in nursery schools and after school care. The theoretical part clarifies basic terms related to the topic. It describes the reader´s development in the family, nursery school, library and it focuses on the factors that are influencing the pre-reader´s literacy. Furthermore the thesis records thematic range of the texts from the journal Informatorium 3-8 and Rodina a škola issued between 2010 and 2016. The practical part focuses on the findings of particular data related to the development of reading skills and reader´s literacy on the elementary and nursery school in Černovice. This part introduces the results of research which was conducted in the nursery school and after school care. The peer observation complements the results from the nursery school.
Advent-calender full of stories - educational project in development of before-reader's skills of children at nursery school

5 Abstract The thesis is devoted to the development of before-reader's skills of preeschoolers, their ability to develop communication, listening and discussion with some methods of critical thinking. Theoretical part is focused on the development of reading and before-reader's literacy of preschoolers.It deals with a posibility to use some chosen methods of the program RWCT (Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking) at nursery school. It concentrates on the development of preschoolers in some areas important for their development of reader's literacy. In practical part there is presented the educational project of advent-calender full of stories, based on the work with texts. Based on stories it learns, if these chosen methods of the program RWCT can influence communication of preschoolers and their listening and discussion. The thesis presents results of the educational project took at the beginning and the end of my project.
