Mathematical analysis of bone and vascular remodelling model
Matajová, Adéla ; Maršík, František (advisor) ; Souček, Ondřej (referee)
Bone is a tissue that is constantly being renewed during the whole life. This complex biological process, controling among others adaptation to environ- mental loads, is called bone remodelling. It is due to this complexity that the process hasn't been fully biomechanically described yet. However, sev- eral mathematical models of bone remodelling have been conjectured, one of which we will introduce and analyze in this thesis. The model describes bone metabolism by five chemical equations. Using the biothermodynamical laws we will derive from these equations a system of ordinary differential equations. Then we will effectuate a qualitative analysis, while focusing on existence, uniqueness and stability of a stationary solution. Finally the im- pact of the mechanical loading on bone remodelling will be outlined. We will also mention the relation with vascular remodelling. 1

Time-resolved potentiometry on liquid-liquid interface
Mansfeldová, Věra ; Nesměrák, Karel (advisor) ; Opekar, František (referee) ; Gál, Miroslav (referee)
Věra Mansfeldová: Time-resolved potentiometry on liquid-liquid interface (Dissertation thesis) Abstract The aim of this work is to explore the method of temporal resolution in potentiometry as a new prospective electrochemical analytical technique. In connection with interface of two immiscible electrolyte solutions (ITIES) it may find utilization in analytical chemistry. This technique up to my knowledge has not been published yet. Potential response of analyte on liquid/liquid interface includes both distribution processes, their temporal resolution and redox processes, which specificity can modified by changing the composition of individual phases. Unlike "classic" potentiometric techniques, limited just to potential determination, this method, which I have given the working name "time resolved potentiometry at liquid-liquid interface" utilizes time development of potential response, which was found to be an analyte-specific function. The time resolved potentiometry presented in this work includes time course of potential response to analytical parameters specific for particular analyte. It brings series of data characterizing the analyte in given environment in a similar manner as spectra and may allow creating analyte-specific data package - fingerprint. Combination with ITIES allows, unlike...
Transformation of the media image of Stanislav Gross

This thesis deals with the changes in the media representation of a politician in selected Czech press, depending on various social and political events. As a source for analysis were chosen public activities of Stanislav Gross. The research focuses on three main events in the life of this politician. The first period is the period after the appointment of Gross to the Prime Minister. The next is the period after the publication of information about the dubious origin of his property and the last is the period after his death. The analysis is based on material from two Czech dailies - MF DNES and Právo - and it includes a comparison of the ways of informing of selected events in particular periodicals. Quantitative and qualitative research methods of media content were used for the analysis. The qualitative part focuses on filling in the stereotypical roles. The resulting media image was indeed very strongly influenced by mentioned facts and tone of articles and thematic composition of news associated with Stanislav Gross was changing. Among the selected periodicals were discovered distinct differences in approach to the issue. While MF DNES held more negative attitudes and related the Prime Minister to setbacks, Právo maintained a neutral perspective and Stanislav Gross was often put into the...
