Feasibility study pumped storage hydropower plant in a particular locality
Vaněk, Michal ; Štigler, Jaroslav (referee) ; Hudec, Martin (advisor)
Electric energy storage represents an area, which needs to be further developed in order to accommodate more installed capacity of wind and solar power plants in the electric grids. Pumped hydro energy storage still remains ahead of other storage technologies in terms of achievable storage capacity. However, environment protection which is one of the obstacles for further PHES development in Europe causes significant reduction of suitable sites. It is therefore useful to examine also those sites, which seem to be less favourable for PHES at the first glance. This thesis deals with a feasibility study of a PHES on place of a former graphite surface mine. The thesis includes computation of basic capacities, choice of a suitable machine arrangement and introduction into PHES feasibility issues in electric grids. Two possible solutions of a smaller PHES that differ in their capacities were suggested based on available materials about the site as well as on available materials from Francis pump turbine model research. In case of both solutions a binary machine set is used and the available capacities are in small tens of megawatts. However, there is a wide head variation at the site, which causes significant power variation. Concerning the feasibility of the PHES, it is very uncertain that the participation in the day-ahead electricity market, would provide enough revenue to cover operation and capital costs. A following economic analysis investigating the capital costs of this particular PHES would be beneficial, as well as more detailed design of the reservoirs.
Student with hearing impairments at university
Ondráčková, Zdenka ; Hádková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Komorná, Marie (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to describe support services for students with hearing impairment which are being provided by Czech universities. The paper describes laws related to educational rights concerning students with special needs. The thesis is also devoted to particular areas that are necessary for university studies, such as language proficiency or interpreting services. The main part of the thesis is a list of public universities, which holds the information whether each university establishes a service centre for students with special needs and presents specific services provided to students with hearing impairment. Lastly, there is mentioned an organization which unites together some of the public universities that provide support services for students with specific needs. All information has been acquired by analyzing websites of the universities, in some cases also through e-questionnaires. The results of this thesis enable a quick and comprehensive insight into the issue of the provision of services to students with hearing impairment at university.
Specific Needs of Deaf People Studying at Universities in Czech Republic
Kretíková, Andrea ; Záškodná, Helena (advisor) ; Frič, Pavol (referee)
The thesis focuses on the issue of education of people with hearing disabilities at universities in the Czech Republic. It emphasizes the specific educational needs of people with hearing disabilities who study at the university, and which meet the needs by support services. Work specifically address to the different types of support services and centres to support students with special educational needs at universities that offer these services. The survey, conducted in the form of online questionnaire, found that the use of support services is frequented and at the same time, the quality of these services is rated as very high. The survey also followed the use of modifications graduation exam correlated using a modification of entrance exams for universities. Created an online questionnaire in the Czech sign language provides effective feedback deaf students to the centres to support students with special educational needs. Keywords: centre for support to students with special needs, hearing disability, special educational needs, support services, university education.
Povědomí studentů o významu ekosystémových služeb a funkcí lesů
Příhodová, Petra
The thesis is focused on the issues of ecosystem services and functions of forests. The aim is to evaluate the students' awareness of the importance of ecosystem services and functions of forests and the subsequent comparison with the results of foreign studies. Literature research is devoted to the concept of ecosystem services and functions of forests, their description and classification. It also characterizes the concepts of forest, nature and landscape protection, the species composition and forest health. Own work involves methodological basis and characteristics of survey respondents. Subsequently evaluated questionnaire aimed at the students' awareness of the importance of ecosystem services and functions of forests. The results are divided into two parts corresponding to the partial aims of the thesis. Following the evaluation of the questionnaire is in the discussion an international comparison of the results with foreign studies. The conclusion summarizes the obtained knowledge and evaluates the fulfilment of objectives.
Possibilities of Accumulation in Distribution Network
Žižlavský, Jakub ; Pěcha, Jiří (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis on the Possibilities of Accumulation in Distribution Network focuses on the distribution of electric energy storage types. Then the most suitable candidate for the application of the accumulation of electricity in the distribution network will be selected and further work will be conceived according to the choice.
Potential of non-frequency ancillary services for a distribution system operator
Reiskup, Filip ; Holub, Martin (referee) ; Ptáček, Michal (advisor)
This thesis provides a basic overview of the ancillary services in a transmission system. It summarizes changes regarding the implementation of European directives SOGL and EBGL. It describes in detail a portfolio of non-frequency ancillary services used in the distribution systems. It evaluates the demand of E.ON distribution system potential for those services in particular locations. Practical part is focused on a potential of reactive power management in this distribution area. It evaluates reactive power flow into transmission system and indicates the most critical substations. This thesis also covers analysis of existing resources in this distribution area and assign their possible potential in reactive power management.
