Psychology of joy
Boubelová, Adéla ; Uhlář, Pavel (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to define the concept of joy and introduce the theme of happiness in all its vastness. The work is divided into two main parts, the theoretical part and the empirical part. In the theoretical part, first the concept of joy is clarified, then the individual triggers of joy are described, then I focus on the moment of the initiation of joy and its experiencing, afterwards I deal with the manifestations of joy and its impact, while I also mention the preconditions for experiencing joy and the pathology of joy, and in the end of this part I am preoccupied with the question of how one can evoke joy in everyday life, also within the concept of a meaningful life. The empirical part follows the theoretical part, more specifically it follows the chapter dealing with the experiencing of joy. The proposal of the qualitative research is focused on the examination of the experiencing of joy caused by three different situations evoking joy. The method of the research is grounded theory.
"Guilty pleasures": The tension between the pleasure from popular culture and good taste
Ružičková, Judita ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Jansa, Petra (referee)
This Master's thesis deals with the phenomenon of so-called guilty pleasures within the consumption of popular culture. The theoretical basis of this work consists of three thematic pillars. Specifically: concepts related to the consumption of popular culture by authors such as Fiske and Ang; a distinction based on taste and cultural consumption, in particular by Bourdieu, Peterson and Holt; and a set of theoretical-critical views on the very concept of guilty pleasure. However, this complex combination of (not only) pleasure and guilt is still just gaining more academic attention. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to contribute to the understanding of this phenomenon, through individual interviews with consumers characterized by both high cultural capital and a wide range of preferences, known as cultural omnivory. Within those consumers, the contrast of low and high taste, the presumed clash of acceptance of legitimized aesthetic rules and their violation, are present. The research question "How do cultural omnivores with a high cultural capital perceive the consumption of products of popular culture - especially those which they consider their guilty pleasures?" is answered through thematic analysis of coded interviews.

Pelzová, Markéta ; Strouhal, Martin (advisor) ; Koťa, Jaroslav (referee)
Concept of pragmatic pedagogy is based on the education by experience, which is essential for an individual's development and for the directing of the individual's abilities. The processes of experiencing, interpreting and evaluating the work of art are based on everyday experience and it relates to both the unique requirements of an individual and the conditions of a certain socio-cultural environment in which he lives.
The Relationship of Hedonism and Humanism
Jerman, Ondřej ; Jirsa, Jakub (advisor) ; Švec, Ondřej (referee)
The diploma thesis discusses the relationship between humanism and hedonism. However, its main objective is not to explain the terms in their summarized historical relatedness but to point out their internal coherence. The fundamental issue the thesis deals with is the fact that sentient beings suffer from sorrow. Enumerating the reasons why it is important to search for a solution would be a waste of our reader's time. It is necessary to understand that we don't expect empirical science to solve the problem since - despite the enthusiasm significant for this modern period - has not introduced any relief from sorrow. Here comes the opportunity for philosophy and, eventually, ethics. In its first part the thesis maps out the context of humanism and hedonism, studies their apparent as well as hidden nature, and lays the conceivable foundations of humanistic hedonism. The following section suggests a set of particular steps. Adhering to these instructions makes it possible to experience delight and to eliminate sorrow.
Children's drawing in preschool age
Hritzová, Haidemária ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Hrabec, Ondřej (referee)
The bachelor's thesis examines children's drawing in preschool age, which arose spontaneously when observing children's play. It views children's drawing as a game where a combination of object construction and symbolic games takes place. The aim of the research is to map the kinds of pleasure that drawing, understood as a game, can bring to children. The theoretical part is based on sources of professional literature in the field of psychology and pedagogy. The empirical part presents the results of a research survey carried out by qualitative methods, using mainly research methods of observation, interview, child history and product analysis. The research took place for one school year in one of Prague's state kindergartens. Altogether, 14 observations of free spontaneous drawing were obtained, elaborated in detail in the individual appendices. The research group consisted of a total of 23 children, of which 14 were girls and 9 were boys. We managed to create seven main categories, which contain several sub-elements identified as pleasing in the creation process itself. It was found that the creative process itself was a source of main pleasure, as many of the children did not show any interest in drawing after completing the picture. The creative process included components of dexterity in the...
Supporting children in Drawing as a game
Haberhauerová, Klára ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Fulková, Marie (referee)
This thesis is focused on the drawing of preschool children from the perspective of a game. The game that can offer children a functional pleasure already during the game itself. Theoretical starting points offer an insight into contemporary Czech and foreign didactics of an art education, the development of graphomotorics and also the theory of correction of specific learning disorders, concretely dyspraxia and dyspinxia. It focuses on the possible cause of refusing to draw, presents the view on the role of the teacher in planning and active participation in the educational process. The theoretical base is followed by an original empirical research that was lead in one kindergarten. The aim of the research was to introduce the Drawing as a game to children, so that they can have a positive experience from it. In the research we can find not only the diagnostics of children in terms of their ability to enjoy drawing as a game, but also self intervention in children, who had little or no pleasure in playing the game at the beginning. The conclusion contains a list of factors that supported individual interventions in their success.
Children's drawing in pre-school age - mesure of enjoyed pleasure
Jindrová, Jitka ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Viktorová, Ida (referee)
The bachelor thesis views children's drawing as a game where children enjoy functional pleasure. The theoretical part presents the theoretical background, especially Teorie hry by M. Klusák and M. Kučera, and Ontogeneze lidské psychiky by V. Příhoda. The empirical part of the thesis follows up on the research of K. Haberhauerová, and presents a scale created by the author which evaluates the children's degree of enjoyment of drawing. Then, with the help of school-maturity-oriented tests an answer to the research question about whether there is any binding relationship between the level of enjoyment and the rate of cognitive development included in school maturity is searched for. The degree of this relationship and the potential benefits of these findings are presented in the conclusion.
