The bachelor thesis Memorial park is focused on problematic of designing memorials in the sense of contemporary landscape design. The thesis includes a short historical overview of memorials development and relation to landscape and plants. There are mentioned selected different examples of memorials from all over the world as same as Czech examples and supplemented with photo documentation. Based on analyses, there were defined principles of designing a memorial park, mostly opportunities how is possible to rise the topic. The thesis describes also relations between individual functions, positives and negatives of park and possibilities how to harmonize them. In practical part was disposed landscape architecture study of area Kounic colleges in Brno. The architectonical study respects primarily the actual usage of the campus together with a respectful form of memorial.
Remembering Easter Rising

5 Abstract The bachelor thesis focuses on the official policy of remembering the Easter Rising in Ireland in 1916. The attention concentrates on the political representatives of the Irish Free State and Irish Republic from 1922 to 2006 and their attitude towards commemorations of the Easter Rising. The topic is elaborated using mainly English secondary sources and also some primary sources like political documents and videos. Regarding the methodology, the so-called collective memory concept is used, especially the lieux de mémoire method by Pierre Nora. The thesis examines the basic factors influencing the Irish representatives' attitude towards the Easter commemorations. Simultaneously, the paper analyses the means used by the Irish representatives to influence the people's commemorative practises. The Culture of Memory: The Destiny od Lidice Memorial

This Bachelor work, dealing with a topic of Culture of Memory: The Destiny of Lidice Memorial, discusses primarily history of the Memorial built in the area of Lidice tragedy and declining visit rate as well as public interest in this sacred place after 1989. That is divided into four explanation captures. The introduction pays attention to general characterization and history of memorials and monuments, focused on their function and utilization. The second part commemorates history, the act of Lidice destruction in June 1942 itself, including other fates of Lidice inhabitants and also international acclaim caused by that unprecedented Nazi crime. That handles with 10th June 1942 in Lidice, shooting of men, abducting of women and children to Kladno Grammar School and following transport to concentration camps. This chapter further it describes the destiny of Lidice with its survivors after the Second World War. The international reaction immediately after the burning down, gained from those local media sources, belongs to this second part too. The third part devotes to proper history and story of the Memorial. The Analysis of the Portrayal of the Region in the Works of the Teschen Silesian Writers via Kubisz's Writings

The goal of this thesis entitled The Analysis of the Portrayal of the Region in the Works of the Teschen Silesian Writers via Kubisz's Writings is to bring the life's work of Jan Kubisz-known writer, educator, and community organizer-into public discourse, and to demonstrate the aspects which have influenced both his creations and a Teschenian mentality. We begin with presenting a historical research of the region whose basis rests in Kubisz's works, primarily in Pamiętnik starego nauczyciela. We also discuss the literary characteristics of Teschenian Silesia in order to pinpoint distinctive local tendencies and issues. We proceed to examine Kubisz's approach to Germanization of the region and his handling of nationalism. The analysis of the Teschenian anthem illustrates Kubisz's legacy for the future generations. In order to facilitate the understanding of the terms used in this thesis, the additional chapter outlines their meanings and connotations. Finally, we show the impact of Kubisz's works on local population and its understanding of identity by introducing separate study and interpreting its outcomes. The Autograph Book of Jakub Popovicky from Popovice (1576-1676)

This bachelor thesis "The Autograph Book of Jakub Popovicky from Popovice (1576-1676)" is dealing with the student´s autograph book from the age of early modern times. The main aim is to analyse the autograph book, to create the critical edition and to set the autograph book in the context of 16th century and the university environment. Besides this, the thesis introduces the circle of Jakub Popovicky´s friends. It also focuses on general characteristics of autograph books and their connection to printed books. This thesis includes attachments with samples of records and illustrations, the list of recorded people, the list of authors of quotations and the table showing the Jakub Popovicky´s itinerary.
Noble memorial book of John George of Schwamberg from the years 1565 - 1615 (1812)

This diploma thesis critically handles memorial book of John George of Schwamberg, leading noble of Bohemian kingdom, politician, contemporary and inheritor of lasts Rosenbergs. Partly dedicated to memorial books as a phenomenon of early modern age and live of John George from Schwamberg. Objective of this diploma thesis is approximate personal life of Schwamberg, partly his itinerary and circle of "masters and friends" through notes recorded in memorial book. Emphasis is put on individual listings and ilustrations and the differences are taken into account from other memorial books from the same period, possibly on matters that can be found in memorial books routinely too. Diploma thesis deals with emergence of memorial book of John George from Schwamberg, its destiny after death of John George and its next owners too.
The Commonplace Book of Lady Zimmer from 1818 to 1837

This bachelor´s thesis is called "The Commonplace Book of Lady Zimmer from 1818 to 1837" and its aim is to form a critical edition accompanied by a codicological and a content description and by an overall analysis of the book as well. The work is divided into four main chapters. The first one deals with the establishment, origin and commonplace books characteristics, afterwards it is focused on the 19th century and it descends up to the 20th century. The second chapter treats the topic of a division of the girls especially from the urban environment, their access to education and destiny to get married, and the final part of this chapter solves the level of the girls´ language knowledge and their experience as readers. The third chapter contains a critical edition which is accompanied by an interior and exterior analysis of the commonplace book of lady Zimmer, these parts are followed by the used language items analysis as well as of mistakes in the entries, poetical means, and last but not least the analysis of the topic and also the art depiction. On the basis of the analysis of this book the fourth chapter emerged and its aim is to show the environment from which the owner originated, her family background and her friends. It reveals her personality step by step as a woman originated from the urban environment living her whole life in the household of a family publishing house owner. The whole work is finished with a conclusion which contains the analysis of all gained information from this very special lady commonplace book from the beginning of the 19th century. The work is accompanied by a list of used sources and literature as well as by diagrams, tables, font samples and picture part, and a family tree of Jan Jakub Ryba which shows certain relationships with the Zimmers. One of the attachments represents the lady Zimmer´s husband´s publishing activity.
