Differences in the perception of individual principles of persuasion according to Cialdini based on personality, gender, age and level of education
Klugerová, Sára ; Vranka, Marek (advisor) ; Houdek, Petr (referee)
This study examines Cialdini's six principles of persuasion, which are reciprocity, scarcity, authority, commitment, consensus, and liking, and people's perceptions of these principles based on personality, gender, age, and level of education. The specific goals of the research are to find out how respondents with different personality traits according to the Big Five personality model are related to the rating of individual principles, whether there is a significant difference in the rating between men and women, between younger adults, older adults and seniors, as well as between several levels of education, and what order of persuasiveness the individual principles take according to respondents' rating. In the theoretical part, the study also provides an insight into the possible way of using knowledge about connections with persuasive principles in practice, through artificial intelligence. Several findings emerged from the questionnaire. Respondents rated individual principles from most to least persuasive in the following order: commitment, reciprocity, liking, authority, consensus, and scarcity. This order was the same within all persons and individual groups. Research has found associations between personality factors and ratings of persuasive principles. It shows that less open...
The Relationship Between the Concept of Emotional Intelligence and the Big Five Model of Personality
Bergerová, Hana ; Stehlík, Luděk (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
My bachelor's thesis has the title "The Relationship between the Concept of Emotional Intelligence and the Big Five Model of Personality". The work is divided into two large units - theoretical and practical. In a literary survey this study describes the concept of EI, five-factor model of personality and their relationship. There are two concepts of EI: ability EI and trait EI. The relationship between EI and five-factor model of personality depends on how the concept of EI with which the concept of EI we compare Big Five. All tests EI, which were compared with the NEO-PI-R or other method investigating five-factor personality model, are described herein. In general we can say that the relationship between tests measuring the ability EI and five-factor model of personality is insignificant. In contrast, most methods of ascertaining EI correlate with the Big Five quite strongly. The practical part of my thesis consists of a research proposal, which deals with the differences of two concepts of EI and their success rate in predicting emotionally intelligent behavior. Keywords: Concept of emotional intelligence, Big Five model of personality, ability EI, trait EI, correlation and validation studies
Motion activity and adult personality structure with focus to women.
PROKSOVÁ, Lenka
This bachelor thesis deals with the physical activity and personality of adult women of the age 20-60 years. Sixty-eight randomly selected women participated in this research. The research tools consisted of a Pedometer Yamax Digiwalker SW-700 and NEO, five-factor personality model. The data collected were analyzed using the unpaired and paired two-sample t-tests. The physical activity measurements were conducted in spring and autumn. With the pre-set hypotheses in mind, it has been concluded that there is no statistically significant correlation between the personality feature of extroversion and a higher level of physical activity. Furthermore, the average physical activity was not higher at weekends, compared to weekdays.
Psychosocial determinants of emotional intelligence among police officers in Czech Republic.
HYPŠOVÁ, Petra
The bachelor thesis deals with possible relations between psychosocial determinants and emotional intelligence of members of the Police of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes the emotional intelligence, the five-factor personality model and the psychosocial determinants of emotional intelligence among the members of the police. The empirical part aims to calculate how many factors create emotional intelligence measured by the SEIS questionnaire. The next goal is to compare whether there are differences in overall emotional intelligence and its factors between the Police of the Czech Republic and the general population. Considering the police, there the relationship among demographic characteristics and personality traits (measured by the NEO-FFI questionnaire) are investigated along with overall emotional intelligence. The research sample consists of a total of 531 respondents aged 18 and over. The research group is divided into the Police of the Czech Republic (N = 222) and the general population (N = 309). The results of the research did not prove the existence of a statistically significant difference between the Police of the Czech Republic and the common population in total emotional intelligence. However, a significant difference was found in the factor of understanding one's own emotions and emotions of other people and the factor of using emotions to solve problems between the Police of the Czech Republic and the general population. No statistically significant difference was revealed in the factor of the regulation of one's own emotions and of other people. No significant differences or relationships were found among age, education and gender of police officers and their overall emotional intelligence. An important finding, however, was to find relationships among all the personal dimensions according to the Big Five and the overall emotional intelligence of members of the Police of the Czech Republic.
The Physical activity and personality structure of the adult population of the Czech Republic focused on men
KOSTELECKÁ, Petra
The main topic of this diploma thesis is Motional activity and Personality structure of czech adult population with focus of men. Research examined 40 men from the ages 20 to 60 years. The theoretical part is dealing with personality structure, five-factor model of personality, motional activity of adults and gait. In the research part the motional activity was measured using the pedometer Yamax Digiwalker SW-700. The personality structure was taken with the help of a fivefactor questionaire called NEO personality inventory. The research results confirmed a relationship between the personality trait and volume of motional activity.

Relationship between prosocial tendencies and personality dimensions of students of psychology
MĚRTLOVÁ, Lucie
The bachelor´s thesis considers the relations between the pro-social tendencies and chosen personality dimensions at the psychology students. The theoretical part therefore deals with the definitions of the following terms: pro-social behaviour, altruism, helping behaviour. Some authors use these definitions synonymously; others on the contrary distinguish the terms by meaning. The causes of pro-social behaviour are described in the thesis and the progress of pro-social behaviour is briefly presented here. The disposition and situation factors of the pro-social behaviour are also described here. The last two chapters of theoretical part define the terms of helping professions and describe the five-factor model of personality. The practical part does a research on personality presumptions for pro-social behaviour at psychology students. The research method is the battery questionnaire, which is formed by three questionnaires: NEO five factor model of personality, PSB Pro-social Personality Battery and the questionnaire for measuring the scale of altruism. The aim of this bachelor´s thesis is to find out the mutual relations between the pro-social tendencies and chosen personality dimensions at psychology students. The research sample was made by 86 psychology students and 34 students of no-helping branches. The obtained data were compared on the basis of Man Whitney U test method and a correlation analysis. It has been found out that the students with voluntary experience show higher level of the following factors: other-oriented Empathy and altruism. The psychology students differ from the students of no-helping branches in the factor of Openness to Experience. It has been confirmed that Czech and American psychology students achieved similar results in the factors "other-oriented Empathy" and Helpfulness. The comparison of Czech psychology students and other helping professions brings the same conclusion. The psychology students achieve above-average levels at the factor of Agreeablenes and Openness to Experience.
The Pro-social Traits of Workers in Helping Professions
FENDRICHOVÁ, Bohdana
In the thesis on the pro-social traits of workers in helping (assistance-providing) professions I dedicate myself to pro-social behavior, empathy and the basic characteristics of personality issuing from the five-factor personality model {--} The Big Five. Most professionals agree that pro-social behavior and empathy belong among the basic characteristics that assistance-providing professionals should have. An important role is also the personality of the care provider. The listed constructs and connections among them however remain the home environment of empirical research and thereby represent the phenomena regarding which there exist few verified findings. The goal of the paper rests in fining the level of empathy and personal dispositions in accordance with the Big Five model that could influence pro-social behavior in selected groups of assistance-giving professionals. The factors in question are neuroticism, extroversion, and openness to experience, graciousness and conscientiousness. Data collection took place with the help of two psychodiagnostic questionnaires. The IRI questionnaire measures level of empathy and the NEO-FFI questionnaire was used for diagnosing the five personality dimensions. The study was quantitative. The monitored set included respondents from three assistance-giving professions {--} nurses, members of the Czech Republic Fire Rescue Corps, and elementary-school teachers. The results confirmed the hypothesis that care providing workers show higher levels of empathy in comparison to the population average, and the hypothesis that these professionals show a higher level of personality traits that, in an interpersonal context, display positive orientation towards others, that is that they are more extroverted and gracious in comparison with the population average, was refuted. These results make it possible to consider that the relationship between the basic personality dimensions and pro-social tendencies may be mediated by the level of empathy with regard to other psychological constructs and the results of social learning. Conclusions cannot be generalized, due to a relatively small sample group. For this purpose it would be interesting to carry out a professional study, which would exceed, in its scope and possibilities, the usual requirements of a thesis paper.
