Education of hearing impaired elementary school students during the world pandemic of COVID-19

Master's thesis "Education of hearing impaired elementary school students during the world pandemic of covid-19" is analyzing changes in the czech educational system during the said pandemic. The theoretical part of master's thesis describes the educational system of hearing impaired students, the historical context behind it, the legislative basis and modern trends in this specific educational branch. Furthermore there are explained communication systems used by the hearing impaired. In the last chapter of the first part there is description of the covid-19, its course and spreading and the extraordinary measures in educational systém taken by the government. The practical part is based on informants' statements in semi-structured interview. These informants were recruited amongst teachers, parents and students, who were actively involved in educational process during the pandemic of covid-19. The aim of this thesis is analyzing the impact of taken measures from diferent perspectives of teachers, parents and hearing impaired students. The research reveals how the unprecedented situation was by showing how unprepaired all focus groups were. The aim of this thesis is to describe Web accessibility in state administration in the Federal Republic of Germany in relation to the socio-demographic group of deaf sign language users who did not have the opportunity to gain proper knowledge of a written form of the German language. The demand of the Deaf to information in an accessible form as based on legal documents is presented in relation to the theory of translation. How translating from written texts into sign language works in practice shows an example from two sign language translation providers in Germany. In conclusion, the visually accessible information on the Web might have an impact on the quality of Deaf people's lives. Job opportunities for persons with hearing impairments

The diploma thesis focuses on the employment of persons with hearing impairments. In the theoretical part, the introductory chapters pay attention to the terminological definition from the perspective of surdopaedia, classification of hearing impairments and the possibility of communication of persons with hearing impairments. Furthermore, the theoretical part is devoted to approaches to education and education systems for persons with hearing impairments. The thesis also describes the situation of employing persons with hearing impairment not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Germany, Slovakia and Great Britain. In the practical part, the situation of work of persons with hearing impairments is analyzed by means of a research survey, which has the character of mixed research. A structured interview for clients of the organization Silent world and a semi-structured questionnaire were used for the research investigation. The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the situation of work of persons with hearing impairment and possibilities of work of persons with hearing impairments in the Czech Republic, this goal is achieved by research investigation. Business plan for providing interpreting services to deaf people in Carlsbad Region in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis focuses on the current situation in interpreter services for deaf in Carlsbad region in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of diploma thesis aims to inform the reader about the terminology, language, another communication code and the number of deaf people in the Czech Republic. I present the information I have gathered about the deaf community. The goal of the diploma thesis is to create the business plan for interpretation services for the deaf community for the year 2019. After studying documents from the national organization I describe the current situation in the Carlsbad region with interpreter services for the deaf. The surveys aim is to interview doctors from otorhinolaryngology and foniatry in the Carlsbad region. The interviews focus on the communication needs of people with hearing impairment and the information doctors have about interpretation services in the region. Based on the data from the research I did, I found out the exact number of interpretation services for deaf in the region. Unfortunately from the documents I was not able to find out the exact number of deaf clients in the Carlsbad region. Title: Volleyball training of people with hearing impairments. This thesis describes and characterizes volleyball training of people with hearing impairments. Options for active sports life of people with hearing impairments in the Czech Republic are under the umbrella of Association of the Deaf athletes. Sensory disability does not limit players in physicalperformance,howeverrenders a number of specific needs that must be respected during a training unit. The aim of this thesis is to describe the specifics of beach volleyball if the players have a hearing impairments. Bachelor thesis consists of two parts. Theoretical part, containing two chapters and focuses on explaining the basic terminology and clarifies the specifics of people with the hearing impairments.There search part includes a description of the training session, results of a survey held among players with hearing impairmens and the result of an interview with a beach volleyball trainer for people with hearing impairments. TITLE: Hearing Loss and Its Social Impacts in Adult Age AUTHOR: Tereza Skákalová DEPARTMENT: Department of Special Education SUPERVISOR: doc. PhDr. Lea Květoňová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The present dissertation deals with the issue of the social impacts of hearing loss in adults. The thesis compiles the theoretical knowledge about the hard of hearing and society's attitudes towards them. The gradual change in attitude towards these people throughout various historical periods is described and this description of the evolution of their social status is concluded with the analysis of the current situation in the Czech Republic. The empirical part examines the influence of hearing loss on a person's involvement in modern day society. The research is qualitative and it examines the opinions of the affected people themselves and also experts working with this target group. The results of the research reflect a positive shift in the attitude towards the hard of hearing, but simultaneously show that their needs and abilities remain misunderstood. The most problematic issue is their capability of contribution at work. The findings are compared with other research. Changing Role of an Educator in the Life of a Person with a Hearing Impairment

This bachelor thesis discusses the different conditions in the boarding houses for people with hearing impairments now and in the past. It provides the experience of the deaf and overviews available literature. The theoretical part explains the basic terms associated with hearing impairment, communication, and methods of educating the deaf, deaf institutions, defines the upbringing, education and teaching positions and deals with the boarding house in the context of past and present. The practical part describes the experience of hearing impaired people with boarding houses and with educators using a questionnaire survey analysis.
