Práce se zaměřuje na přístupnost webových stránek orgánů státní správy ve Spolkové republice Německo ve vztahu k sociodemografické skupině neslyšících uživatelů německého znakového jazyka, kteří si neměli možnost dostatečně osvojit znalost německého jazyka v psané formě. Nárok neslyšících na informace v přístupném formátu podložený právními předpisy usouvztažňujeme s teoretickými aspekty překladu do znakového jazyka. V praxi formou řízených rozhovorů ve dvou německých firmách poskytujících překladatelské služby zjišťujeme, jak vypadá proces překladu psaných textů do znakového jazyka. Závěrem uvádíme, že vizuálně přístupné informace mohou mít vliv na kvalitu života Neslyšících. The demand of the Deaf to information in an accessible form as based on legal documents is presented in relation to the theory of translation. How translating from written texts into sign language works in practice shows an example from two sign language translation providers in Germany. In conclusion, the visually accessible information on the Web might have an impact on the quality of Deaf people's lives.
