Avant-garde art in the collection of Boris Gribanov and its significance in the European and wider cultural context

The aim of this research is to introduce the private art collection of the Russian (Soviet/American) collector Boris Gribanov and analyse the artworks of the Russian avant- garde represented in his collection. The history of the collection will be introduced along with the vicissitudes that the collector went through over the years in his quest to save the artworks. Within the broader historical and political context, this research paper discusses the fate of artworks made by Russian avant-garde artists and the difficulties encountered by collectors who tried to save the artworks of the Russian avant-garde from destruction and oblivion. Using the example of selected key painters from the collection of the collector Gribanov, the research will trace the historical and cultural context of collecting in the Soviet Union and the subsequent fate of paintings abroad. The thesis also deals with the situation of Gribanov's rescued artworks on the international art market and the popularization of the Russian avant-garde in the broader sense of the word. The research could also contribute to the analysis of the current art market and bring additional input for further studies in the field of modern culture, in connection with the collecting of works of art. Objects outline and image matching

The aim of the diploma thesis is to get acquainted with problem of detecting the object with sketch, diagram or contour, which should represent the object to be compared. The thesis deals with how to solve this problem. Part of the thesis contains theoretical methods that manage to evaluate the degree of similarity between the unknown object and less accurate sketch. Each of these methods includes customized edits from the viewpoint of image pre-processing. The thesis deals with some methods in more detail. Selected methods are implemented and tested on the created database. In the last step of the thesis these realized methods are compared to each other.

Web App for Image and Video Quality Assessment

This work will be a web application for image and video quality assessment, especially those with a high dynamic range (HDR). The metrics are used for the evaluation, the results of which will be used for scientific purposes. Broader public citizens will be acquainted with this issue. This app will have an assistant available for a simple understanding of the whole application. The application also tries to be autonomous and dynamic. For example, new metrics can be added from the administration environment and editing on the server side is not required. The administrator will be able to upload a metric, a local library, a startup script, and define the parameters. The parameters provide metrics necessary data from the processed image or video. Only installation of system applications and libraries will be required on the server side.

Biomedical image processing in LabVIEW

This bachelor thesis deals with the options of using the development environment of LabVIEW in specific processes such as an analyzing and biomedical image data processing. This bachelor thesis sets its goal as projecting and developing a computer program, which could process image data collected from microscopic devices. Image data from computer or external devices could be loaded into the program. It includes such functions as calculation of picture histogram, preprocessing by luminance or geometric transformations, preprocessing by smoothing filtration and edges detection and processing by segmentation. Function of the program was tested by tester images, microscopic images and also by images taken with camera straight into the program.

A mixture of symbols, authorities and theories that man need´s to absorb nowdays, is source for many confusing manuals, how to deal with our life, make decisions, or which political party to vote. Exactly the same time, these symbols of authority and theories are an essential part of our culture and education, and that they are looking for inspiration, information and explanations. Sometimes I dream that my source of information is nothing more than nature and its observations. In a utopian world without information provided by them I watched the world at my own pace, subsequently walking from one information to another.In the real world from different disciplines, which explore the universe in great detail, vast quantities of information flows, which the ordinary man in his level is not capable scientificly understand. For instance, when I read about Hawking's paradox, I can imagine how it's probably meant, but I don´t understand the calculations, and resources .. Well anyway, I add this information to my concept of understanding space and black holes. I perceive universe through intuition and its fragments-specific expression of the universe- I perceive through reason. The first series is a picture of my view of the universe by means of symbols - codes that people agreed use- to communicate the inexpressible. Universe is still on the eyes, and whenever I start to deal with its sub-parts, I can recognize its wholeness . Other pictures are formulation and development of selected key topics of the universe (according to my personal priorities).At this point, my work is mainly based on switching between a total and detail. What happens to the "collection" image, and affects other images detail. The last image of the series is once again the image of the wholeness . The spiral development to the second floor above the first image. Projecting the universe through me will be images transformation. Picture, even it is symbolic and symbolizing, is forming to kind of logo. Moreover, It occurs the same logo as a symbol of the universe mirroring by my being. Universe in the universe. Microcosm in the macrocosm. My individuality in the universe. Fractal.

Imagines in your Mind: iconographic and iconologic aspects of some themes of contemporary visual culture

The final work of the Bachelor degree titled Living in us deals with iconographic and iconological aspects of certain themes of contemporary visual culture. It focuses on Advertising which maps from the point of view of development and its facilities whilst ignoring the effects on the recipient. Terrain research endeavours to reach this via its eventual analysis. The work attempts to answer via questionnaire the question whether the adversing which we are surrounded by is linked to preconceptions of christian culture. The educational file of work is represented by an accompanying installation program of works by Adriena Simotova. The artistically applied theme rellies on the direct coherent phenomenon of 30 Advertising. The result is an advert on Christianity which I created in accordance with the results of the questionairre. These outlined ' today's person's' idea of paradise which became the motive for a completed advertising leaflet.

Thetheoretical part of my thesis isdevidedintothreeparts - Myth, Return and Picture. Allthreeparts are connected by pilgrimage, thatjourney, a threadwhichonefinds on thewaybut thethemeofthe image iscentral in allthreeparts, becauseonlythanks to it, theinvisiblebecomesvisible. In thedidactic part I presentanartisticactivity, whichisfocused on the return in art, to thebeginningsof art and cultureitself - to cavepaintings. In the art project I try to takethewholetopicof my bachelor thesis artistically by creating a smallbook, whichisprinted on pausepaper, so theaccentisfocused on theconnectionbetweenthepages "past, present and future".
