Negative impacts of the Internet on human society and communication

V současnosti se o internetu mluví jako o jednom z nejvýznamnějších vynálezů lidstva. Internet ovšem není pouze jen celosvětový systém propojených počítačových sítí, ve kterých je uloženo obrovské množství různých informací, je to také virtuální svět. Internet je používán téměř ve všech sférách lidských aktivit – domácnost (Chytrá Domácnost), komunikace, vzdělání, dopravní systémy atd. Díky internetu se lidský život stal jednoduší. Vznik internetu sebou přinesl velké množství výhod, nicméně tento vynález má i negativní efekty na lidsky život. Cílem této bakalářské práce je prozkoumat hlavní negativní dopady internetu na lidskou společnost a komunikaci. Tato práce se zabývá internetovými jevy, které ovlivňují společnost tím nejvíce negativním způsobem. Internet je v této práci taky analyzován jako komunikační kanál. Tato práce pojednává o vlivu internetu na jazykové aspekty a dopadu beztrestnosti na komunikaci. Studium literatury a provedení výzkumu v oboru spojeného s daným tématem byly hlavními podklady pro tuto práci.
Internet addiction and other non-substance addiction at secondary school

The thesis is focused on non-substance addictions, particularly on forms of Internet addiction disorder which can occur at secondary school. My main goal is to discover if secondary school students are addicted to the Internet as well as the reasons for these addictions. Firstly, my bachelor thesis deals with the general characteristics of addictions and describes non-substance addictions, such as online gaming addiction and internet sex addiction. Moreover, I focused on the topic of compulsive Internet use in greater detail. In this thesis, I tried to briefly summarize what so-called dopamine is and how it relates to compulsive Internet use. Furthermore, the thesis deals more closely with the issue of time spent on the phone, digital detox, social networking, social media jealousy and applications such as Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter. The thesis summarizes the manifestations of these addictions, their causes, prevention, and treatment. Excerpts of semi-structured interviews with students are continuously documented in the thesis. The final chapter analyses the results of the field research and deals with the conclusion of the whole work. Online hry a sociální sítě v životě středoškoláků

This Bachelor thesis focuses on mapping of the role of online games, social media and digital technologies in the life and leisure time of secondary technical school students. The text of the thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part deals with the ways students spend their leisure time, how they communicate and what issues are brought about by use of digital tech-nologies by secondary school students. The thesis further argues against massive use of digital technologies, reviewing historic and current opinions, including opinions of teachers, psychologists and healthcare professionals. The theoretical section further tackles the social pathology represented by digital technology (internet) addiction (netholism) in the Czech Republic and globally and presents expert opinions on this trend as a typical phenomenon of our times. The goal of the empirical part is to apply quantitative research using a ques-tionnaire-based method on finding out how students utilise online games and digital technologies in their leisure time. The empirical section further includes an attempt at identification of the level of social communication of adolescents via virtual social networks. The research was implemented through an online questionnaire with selected secondary school students as the respondents. The results were evaluated by means of a descriptive analysis with recommendations for the options of work in the classroom environment.
Parental responsibility and netolism.

The thesis deals with netolism and other risky behavior of children and adolescents on the Internet, points out the fundamental role of parents in this issue. It introduces the concepts of dependence, the family and parental responsibility. Attention is paid to addiction to social networking sites and online games and some other types of risky behavior on the Internet, e.g. cyberbullying, sexting, cybergrooming. The impact of excessive internet use on the development of children and adolescents is considered. The theoretical findings are supplemented by the view of social worker's of the Authority for Social and Legal Protection of Children and a non-substance addiction prevention worker of the Pilsen Region which was obtained by conducting semi-structured interviews.
Cyberbullying as a Social Problem by the View of Pupils at the Second Stage of Primary School

The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out what are the risks of problematic using of the internet among students of the second grade at elementary school. The consequence of this acting is often a cyber bullying which could be a big social problem in their future private and also professional life. The next goal of this thesis was to create a manual with basic information for teachers and school prevention methodologists in case they have to deal with cyber bullying at elementary schools. This work is made of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter is about a cyber bullying which students of the second grade at elementary schools often experienced with. The second chapter is dedicated to social networks, which are often used by teenagers. Students spend abnormal amount of time on social networks and the cyber-attacks take place there. In the third chapter I describe "netolismus", the addiction to the internet. Nowadays this addiction is made very often and very quickly. In the fourth chapter I focus on a prevention of cyber bullying at elementary schools which is really important. The practical part of this theses focuses on the risks of the internet, healthy or pathological using of the internet among the students of the second grade at elementary schools in South Bohemian region. The established hypotheses concerned verification the differences according to the gender and the age of students. The results of the theses were obtained by questionnaire survey method and they were statistically evaluated in IBM SPSS Statistics and they are represented by graphs. The result shows us that the problematic usage of the internet is related to the age and the class in which the students are at the moment. The results revealed that 44 % of students of the second degree at elementary schools have the internet in the top three of their value lists. It was found out that 33 % of students spend more and more time on the internet, and not because of school´s duties. Although 30 % of students tried to restrict the time they spend on the internet, but with no success. As the results show, 19 % of students hide their online life from others. Based on the results, the manual with the title "CYBER BULLYING" was created to serve for all who are interested in the problematic of cyber bullying, e.g. pedagogical and non-pedagogical workers at elementary schools, school prevention methodologists, lectors of primary prevention programs, social workers and last but not least for parents of student. The first step to a success is to start deal with the cyber bullying and try to find out the right starting points which lead to help.
Relationship between smart phones usage and procrastination among university students

The bachelor's thesis deals with the problematic use of the Internet in mobile phones and procrastination among university students. The aim of the work is to find out if there is a correlation between these phenomena. The thesis introduces the theoretical basis and theoretically anchors concepts such as addiction, procrastination and digital society. The practical part of the work is processed using a quantitative research method, specifically, a questionnaire survey is used. The questionnaire is distributed among university students online. The results show that there is a correlation between procrastination and internet addiction in mobile phones.
Prevention of addictions in the education of pupils with the need for support in education due to social disadvantage

The master thesis is focused on the prevention of addictions in the education of pupils with social disadvantage. The theoretical part deals with the period of adolescence and describes its biological and psycho - social aspects. The attention is focused mainly on pupils with the need for support in education due to social disadvantage. The thesis defines this term, deals with individual manifestations of social disadvantage and supports these pupils. The following part is dedicated to the topic of addiction and risks of development of addiction in adolescents. Thetheoretical part also describes specific risks of substance and non-substance dependencies. The last chapter introduces the theme of prevention in school and preventive program. The practical part consists of there search were three elementary schools in Prague participated. The thesis describes them and analysis their preventive programs. Addiction Issues of High School Students

The bachelor thesis deals with the substance abuse problematics (addiction on legal and illegal substances) and so-called non-substance, also known as behavioural addictions (gambling addiction, computer addiction, internet addiction) which concern high school pupils. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is dedicated to general characteristics of addiction and it also describes how the addiction begins and progresses. The practical part is based on a survey which was distributed on high schools. The aim of this thesis is to find out personal experience of substance abuse among pupils attending high school and to determine the time spent on the computer, internet and mobile device.
